Even though Blackmon got drafted first that doesn't necessarily make him a better overall receiver than Floyd. To be honest it seems to me that Floyd has more tools such as the physicality to block defensive backs on run plays and will make a bigger impact sooner than Blackmon. You of course have different external factors as well. Blackmon will have Blaine Gaibbert as a qb, not to say that Gabbert won't get better his sophmore year but it is a question mark. You also have Floyd's past with partying and the different citations he's had. I feel the drinking citations are a little bit blown out of proportion but they did still happen. Who do you think will have a better career?

Not at all important. You have two different teams with two different scouting staffs. Some may have had Blackmon higher, others Floyd. Heck, it doesn't even really matter on a team who is drafted higher (if the coach wants to win games anyway). Guess the order these three corners were picked in by the Packers back in 1999? They went rounds 1-3.

Somegood points but you also have to remember that Floyd will be the number 2 option in Zona and Blackmon should be the number one guy. I also dont see Skelton or Kolb as anything I would be happy about.

I think you'd be hard pressed to find any college football fan who thought Michael Floyd was a better receiver than Justin Blackmon. I don't know if Michael Floyd thinks he's a better receiver than Blackmon.

You're asking a very different question in the post than your main headline is. I think you'll find it very hard to find people who think that there needs to be a difference between the 1st WR taken and the 2nd. However, look back at some old Arian Foster threads (even some from the middle of last year). There's unquestionably an over-reliance by many on draft pedigree when you're talking about 1st round RBs vs late round or undrafted RBs, performance be damned.

Not a good argument at all.Jordy and Cruz have Rodgers and Manning. You also forget that the WR1's on those teams had stellar seasons as well. Jennings was on pace for 1200/12 before his injury, and Nicks had 1200 himself.Do you think that the Cardinals have a good enough QB/offense to sustain two 1,000 yard receivers? I don't.For Blackmon? The Jags don't have a good enough offense for ONE 1,000 yard receiver Unless Henne takes over, perhaps. Even then it's run-first.
