Hi preacher,Yes, a team can suspend a player (without pay which is is huge) for a max of four games for conduct detrimental to the team per the CBA (Collective Bargaining Agreement)I think that the a team can only suspend a player for 4 games..read that somewhere. So by making him inactive because of his "injury", they don't have to waste the suspension games...
Of course, I could be 100% wrong, but it sounds good.
With Pinkston out and only Lewis and Brown as the WRs, the passing attack would be screwed. That's all they do is pass and I doubt they'll run much more than usual. Maybe a little bit, but not a ton. So if they lose this weekend against Washington, I'm betting he's back for Dallas. They want to suspend him but not at the cost of losing their season. If they lose to Washington and Dallas, after already losing to NYG, they're done for.Well, on the CBS broadcast they just said that Owens is not suspended, but currently listed as inactive. Something about Reid wanting to "keep his options open".
They aren't going to write the season off and they know McNabb will have absolutely nobody to throw to if he is gone. He will be back in 3 games IMO if not sooner.
Nope. Not at all. Calling it like I see it and it was not very hard to figure out.Bitter Philly fan are you Shark?
My bad, I guess I just took the book you wrote the wrong way. Seemed like some anger coming through there.Nope. Not at all. Calling it like I see it and it was not very hard to figure out.Bitter Philly fan are you Shark?
Are these the same ironclad sources who assured him that Moss was out this week?Clayton has sources you can only dream about and would not have said "absolutely not coming back" if he didn't know it already.
Hi shkr,Yikes. You got all that fromTheir is NO CHANCE IN HELL TERRELL OWENS EVER WEARS AN EAGLE UNIFORM AGAIN. Wake up guys this has been brewing for months now and Andy Reid and the Eagle organization has put up with much more than they ever would have for anyone else. I don't care what he does at this point, Owens is done in Philly. He had his chance to apologize and shoved it up Reid's butt for the last time when he did not do it. Joe are you a TO owner in denial or what? Sounds like your holding on to a lost cause and I have no idea why you would be? Clayton has sources you can only dream about and would not have said "absolutely not coming back" if he didn't know it already. Owens is done in Philly. Get over it and move on with what his owners should be doing. I would be willing to bet the house that he will never play another down for Andy Reid again. It should be a simple deduction now after the news of all these fights and him calling out the whole team so he could beat them up. I mean come on here, wake up the guy's has no shot in hell to play again this year for the green and white. Do you realize the amount of embarrassing publicity the Eagle organization is taking for allowing this to happen? Reid is a man of respect and is losing everything he has stood for his entire coaching career over this. He demands respect and has gotten none from this creep. Reid loses everything he has established in the NFL if he allows him back after all this BS. No way it happens.
I am pretty surprised that a post like this would even be put up by the owner of a FF information web site. Reid knows his team might be done this year as far as the playoffs are concerned. In that division with a defense that is playing terrible this year and a brutal schedule in front of them still. He has to make a big stand here right now or lose his team and his players respect forever. Anyone that knows anything at all about Andy Reid knows that just will never happen to him. If they happen to play well and make a run without Owens then Reid gets exactly what he wants out of throwing that cancer off his team. Did anyone think that Mcnabb may have gone right to the top of the organization and to Reid himself and said its me or him after he has been playing his butt off while hurt all year only to have TO rip him yet again this week? If we had Farve we would be 7-0? that is a way low blow and must have really hurt Mcnabb and Reid not to mention the whole team, city and front office and owners, Anyone worth his salt would demand that Owens be gone or else. I bet the owner even chimed in and said that's it, get rid of him now. Just think about what this jerk off has pulled now over and over again? How much can be taken? No more, its over and I would bet anyone here as much as they wanted on it. Again I can't believe anyone who follows the NFL like you Joe would ever think that TO is coming back to the Eagles ever again. I mean it sounds like you think he is coming back for sure? Do you really think that? He had his chance to apologize and blew it off. Why is this situation so hard for you to digest Joe? Why are you holding on to this for? It's over, done deal. If he begs and says I'm sorry from now till eternity, it would be to late now. He had his chance the other day and blew it. Reid told him to make an across the board apology to all involved or pay the consequences and TO made some no hearted 20 second rant about his individual numbers. Not only that, the next day he ripped the team and Mcnabb yet again on his radio show. That was the end all right then and there. No more chances to apologize after that. This as simple a call as I have ever made and have no idea why you people are here holding on like this? Tell them to go get Lewis and Brown Joe, these guys are holding on to TO now for no reason because you are giving them hope when maybe they could get something still in trade for him from guys who believe like you do. Don't be making a major mistake like FF Index did this year by putting Bell on the cover of there Magazine. You can bet that they would give there left testicle to take that nightmare of a decision back. Wow and Willie Parker is done too, not your day guy.
Well I know I am right so what should I say?
If I am wrong and TO plays again for Reid I will come back here and say you were right everyday for a year. IF IF IF. If I am allowed.

maybe ? I'm not sure what to make of this whole situation. With their struggles on defense, the Eagles need all of their offensive weapons, but at what cost? TO doesn't respect his coach, the organization, or his teammates. They made it to the Superbowl without him last year, of course their defense doesn't remotely resemble that of last year's team. Who knows, maybe the team will be playing inspired without TO on the field. lol They should Keyshawn him, he's already not part of the team.Hi shkr,Yikes. A quick note about PFT since many people like to blast them. I believe PFT clearly states when it is writing about rumors and reporting information. This blub is clearly written as reporting info in referring to three other reports. Conclusion: TO is done for the year.POSTED 12:26 p.m. EST, November 6, 2005OWENS, DOUGLAS HAVE THURSDAY THROWDOWN Mark Eckel of The Trenton Times reports and ESPN's Chris Mortensen and Jay Glazer of FOXSports.com confirm that Eagles receiver Terrell Owens and team "ambassador" Hugh Douglas got into a fistfight/wrestling match in the team's weight room on Thursday, hours before Owens teed off on the team and quarterback Donovan McNabb in an ESPN interview. Mortensen said on ESPN's Sunday NFL Countdown that the incident occurred after Douglas entered the weight room and declared that he knows that some guys are faking injuries. At the time, there were questions as to whether Owens' ankle injury was legitimate, since the team initially said that it didn't know when Owens had been hurt. Glazer reported on the FOX pregame show that Owens was in the pool at the training facility when the argument broke out between him and Douglas. Owens then went to put on his shoes -- so he'd have traction -- and then engaged Douglas in a fight.Eckel reports that the ensuing scrum "was like WWE Smackdown," and that both men threw at least two punches. All three report that, after the fight was over, Owens challenged his teammates to a second round. "You want some," Owens said first to Donovan McNabb and then to the other players present. "Anyone else want some."Let's take all of this a step further. With Owens now suspended for conduct detrimental to the team and given that he has the ability to pursue a grievance regarding the team's decision not to pay him for Sunday night's game against the 'Skins, won't Owens argue that the team intentionally baited T.O. into a blowup by sending Douglas, a non-player, into the locker room with hostile intentions? Even if there's no evidence that management gave Douglas the nod, the fact that he's on the payroll could support an argument the team automatically is responsible for the conduct of its non-player employees, and that the team therefore provoked Owens into the very behavior for which he was suspended.Still, even if Owens has a leg to stand on before an arbitrator, the reality is (as we see it) that T.O. will never wear the green helmet again. The only issue is whether Owens gets paid not to play in any of the next nine games.
Good point. Another way to look at it: The Eagles went to 3 NFC Championship games before TO. They are now 4-3 and struggling. They could be better off without TO.Joe,
If he suits up for Philly again this year, it would be a minor miracle. A lot of people are missing the point here. This isn't about Andy Reid finally having enough...this is about Andy Reid recognizing that a good chunk of the TEAM has had MORE than enough.

What do you think?
Based on the comments during tonight's game, that seems quite possible.Earlier today I believed he was done for the year.
As I think about it, I think people will cool off, all the right things will be said this week, and he will only be out tonight. The pressure to win is just too great, affecting everyone from owner to waterboy, and he adds too much to the team's offense. If the differense between making a championship run and not doing so is Owens, they will find a way to patch things up.

Agreed. Especially considering the fact that it was revealed tonight that Andy Reid told TO that what he needed to do was apologize to the team, organization, and McNabb, or face the consequences after the Douglas fight.I think Reid knows he needs TO to win, and he was reluctant to suspend him, but was ordered to from the top. Reid wasn't standing up for his team and QB, he was listening to his boss IMO, and I think now that they've dropped one without him, Reid and management will take TO back.Back next week. I'd bet on it.
Maybe the following week. Remember, when all this started, TO said he'd be out for two weeks.Back next week. I'd bet on it.
True. I'll amend that to "back when he's healthy".Maybe the following week. Remember, when all this started, TO said he'd be out for two weeks.Back next week. I'd bet on it.
I don't see the logic behind this one. What does Owens' health have to do with it?True. I'll amend that to "back when he's healthy".Maybe the following week. Remember, when all this started, TO said he'd be out for two weeks.Back next week. I'd bet on it.
I also saw that quick message popup during the Raiders/Chiefs game on CBS. Can anyone else confirm this. Am I wrong, but if Owens is only inactive, he still gets paid? If so, does that mean he could possibly still face 4 more games without pay? With Pinkston out and only Lewis and Brown as the WRs, the passing attack would be screwed. That's all they do is pass and I doubt they'll run much more than usual. Maybe a little bit, but not a ton. So if they lose this weekend against Washington, I'm betting he's back for Dallas. Once the season starts, I believe that almost nobody is 100%. They play and hobble through things to get by until they just can't go.I believe that he was less than 100%, but probably could have played.Hearing some of the back when his ankle is ok stuff.
Does anyone really believe he was injured? Or isn't healthy now?
J
Yeah, but Tat was a punter.I believe that he was less than 100%, but probably could have played.
I hear you there PB.Although I think they will absolutely let him back if he just simply sincerely apologizes. He has not gone past the point of no return in my opinion.People who think Owens will be back don't understand the Eagles ownership & Reid. Neither party will accept this kind of behavior, especially the locker room brawl.
If it were just the stupid comments - I'd say 1 or 2 games. Add in the fisticuffs & Owens can sit in his driveway lifting weights the rest of the year while running his mouth for the media, who will of course cover every minute & lap up his crap. I would be completely & overwhelmingly stunned if Owens plays again this year.
Doesn't mean it won't happen - but it would mean I've misjudged Lurie & Reid completely, because letting this horse's patoot back on the field would go against everything they have stood for in the past.
