Is it a given that Rodgers is out? I haven't been following too closely....
Coach Mike McCarthy hinted that Matt Flynn is likely to start for the Packers this weekend, according to The Big 1070 in Madison. McCarthy said, "He's had a good week of practice, and this is always a big hurdle for a quarterback when he gets his first start. This is something he'll really benefit from."

Pats D has been rolling as of late, they made Cutler look like Old Cutler. Flynn will look worse than Cutler did, I can't imagine he will do any better.

3TD's it is, full disclosure, I have Pats D this week

I think that the Packer organization has a great deal of faith in Flynn, and given a week's worth of preparation, will probably surprise a few folks by playing above expectations. That said, New England is an elite team and would be a tough matchup regardless whether Rodgers played or not.

I think the Packers may lose this game, but I doubt it will be due to awful play by Flynn.

but I could be wrong

To answer ur question MOP...1 ("put up for New England?")

Flynn will throw 1 for New England (I'm sure u meant Pick 6's)

Anybody seen reports from the Packers beat writers about Flynn in practice? I remember when Vick came into action, the beat writers were saying that he looked great in practice.

I take that as they are either being coy and know he could not go through a few things at all today and will be out.

Or they are holding out hope and he did some conditioning stuff that he must do and follow it up with tests after that the next day to see how he progressed.

I still don't think he will play, but at least he was around today.

Aaron Rodgers-QB-Packers Dec. 17 - 2:33 pm et Despite being listed as doubtful, Aaron Rodgers (concussion) will make the team flight to New England for Sunday night's game.

The Packers are just bringing him along to keep the Patriots guessing. Coach Mike McCarthy did reveal that Rodgers has been outfitted with a new helmet that apparently gives him more protection after he was concussed twice in one season. Both McCarthy and offensive coordinator Joe Philbin have indirectly confirmed that Matt Flynn would start against the Pats.

Rodgers would have some real stones if he played and made a game of this.

Rodgers played the first 7 series of the 1st half last week before going out. Flynn played one first half series and the entire second half. The Packers had 11 first downs and 3 points with Flynn at QB, compared to 2 first downs and no points with Rodgers. Flynn threw a bad INT in the endzone after leading a nice 80 yd drive. Several plays were broken due to miscomunication issues - Driver missed a hand signal and went the wrong way causing a bad looking incompletion; on one play Flynn audibled too late and almost the entire offense went one way while he went the other and was creamed. He's been around long enough that I think a week with the first team will help tremendously. I think Flynn will look much better and will surprise those who expect him to play like a rookie.

From Boston.com

Quarterback Matt Flynn will get his first career start for the Green Bay Packers tomorrow as the team recently announced Aaron Rodgers will not play tomorrow.

Rodgers suffered his second concussion of the season against the Detroit Lions on Sunday and did not participate in practice this week. Packers coach Mike McCarthy said Friday the decision would come down Rodgers being medically cleared to participate.

:bag: Anything is possible in a NFL game, but I don't think Flynn will look awful tomorrow. Flynn has played in some really big games as a collegian, and has had the benefit of learning from Mike McCarthy and Aaron Rodgers the last 2.5 years. I honestly don't think the Packers have too much of a chance to win the game, but that doesn't necessarily equate to an awful performance by Flynn.A little refresher for those of you who may not know much about Flynn. He was largely a backup (behind Jamarcus Russell), with minimal playing time at LSU until his senior season. In his only year as a starter, he led LSU to a National title with a 38-24 win over Ohio State. Flynn was the offensive MVP of the game throwing 4 TDs. He was drafted in the 7th round of the 2008 NFL draft by the Packers. The Packers also used a 2nd rounder on Brian Brohm the same year, and Flynn beat out Brohm for the backup spot to Rodgers and hasn't given up that spot since.

So far the Patriots aren't even close to knocking anyone out of the fantasy playoffs. Brady is positively pedestrian so far. Should have a pick 6 himself....Woodson dropped and easy one.

1 pick 6

2 TD passes
