what is your favorite car gb take that to the bank brohan
My favorite car? I don't know. I like the look of Porsches, frankly. Love the design. My favorite car that I've owned is the Nissan 350z that I just wrapped up into another car and is being fixed. I hope all is right with it when I get it back. Fingers crossed, brohan, and that's with at least the collision deductible plus raise in insurance rate walking to my bank, bromigo.

i cant say i am a nissan guy but everyone likes different stuff i like the big old muscle cars myself but have a soft spot for anything german so i am with you on that some of the old porches especially are really cool i welcome anyone else to chime in on there favorite cars take that to the ani brohans

Fair enough. To each their own. I like the old American muscle cars, too. They're cool cars -- and they're fun to watch get restored on those television programs.

The new Corvettes are pretty awesome.Kinda a muscly super car. Also like Porsche Caymans a lot.

Approaching my 50th birthday, I’m tempted to purchase a mid-life crisis vehicle. But I can’t bring myself to spend sooo much money. 20K is my max. Then again, people are dropping 80 grand on souped up trucks. I just can’t take it to the bank, brother-in-law.

My guess is he learned that long-standing institutions can lead people astray and can be corrupted intentionally or even unintentionally by those wanting power, money and influence.  He drew parallels with the medical community. He’s brought up the opioid crisis multiple times as an example.  It’s ironic, actually. He’s trying to warn people about misinformation but is actually spreading it.
I’m not the only one who thinks the medical industry in the US needs reformed.

Sure, but that has nothing to do with germ theory.

Speaking of...

Sure, this guy spread a lot of dangerous ideas about HIV/AIDS that have been solidly shown to be incorrect over the years, but it seems even he gets that the germ theory is legit and applicable to a bunch of diseases:

Simply Charly: German physician Robert Koch’s discovery of the anthrax bacillus in 1876 launched the field of medical bacteriology and led to a “golden age” of scientific discovery. Can you give us a brief background of the medical milieu from which Koch made his most important and enduring discoveries?

Peter Duesberg: Koch is the father of “the germ theory” of disease, which is perhaps the greatest ever success story in medicine and biology. Therefore, it is on the mind of every medical researcher and student as a model for new careers. The germ theory has been the background for the discovery of many microbial pathogens and beyond—meaning efforts to blame non-microbial diseases on microbes—as with AIDS now.

SC: Koch’s postulates, his criteria for establishing whether a microbe and a disease share a causative relationship, have been cited by many in your field as being crucial to the advances of modern medicine. What discoveries did his criteria lead him to discover?

PD: Anthrax was one. But even more important, clinically and epidemiologically, was the discovery of the Tuberculosis bacillus, because tuberculosis was a major cause of death in the 19th and early 20th century in Europe and the US. Mortality from tuberculosis has since been much reduced by improved sanitation, nutrition, and, last not least, by antibiotics.

SC: Aside from Koch’s own discoveries, what are some of the most important advances (including those you have contributed) we’ve made thanks to his work?

PD: The “germ theory of disease” is the sum of it. See Google / Wikipedia for endless examples of pathogenic germs: Syphilis, Pneumococcus, polio, measles, mumps, yellow fever, the plague, the flu, tuberculosis, etc.

Huge car guy here.  Recently sold my ‘96 911 (owned since 2000) and man do I miss it.  Literally tear’d up as it drove away.  Also owned a big block ‘66 Chevelle.

what is your guys favorite car i like the old dodge chargers they were just fast looking take that to the bank brohans
If I hit the lottery I am going to buy a 1987 Buick Regal Grand National GNX….and you can definitely take that to the bank…

Nearly did the same as a reward after I drove my 1997 pathfinder into the ground. I was surprised at the used market but I’m sure it’s pricier in today’s market. Maybe you can find one closer to your cap than you think.

Not “all”. I don’t think you believe that.
At the decision-making levels...yeah, I do believe that. Have you watched or listened to Dr Chris Johnson talk about the opioid crisis in the US? I posted a couple of videos earlier in this thread. And that's only one example.

Yes, I watched the whole video you posted.  I believe he's right.

So then why do most people refuse to even consider the claims of scientists like Peter Duesberg, Kary Mullis and many others who have said for decades that those in charge (Fauci, Gallo, Redfield, etc) misled the public about the cause of AIDS? This industry (as well as the petrochemical industry) is full of examples of people lying for the sake of profits regardless of how many people were unnecessarily killed. Tobacco, Vioxx, Fen phen, baby powder, etc, etc., etc.

If you've never seen the BBC documentary on Dupont and PFOA, I'd highly recommend it. People who think that folks who run corporations won't sacrifice people for profits are simply naive.

It seems to me that scientists have considered Duesberg's claims about HIV/AIDS and have rejected them on their merits.  I don't see reason to believe there it is a conspiracy to suppress the truth to sell HIV drugs or that scientists are refusing to consider his ideas due to groupthink.

No doubt bad decisions have been made in pursuit of profit over the welfare of our citizens.  As a society we need to demand better.

WTF does that have to do with vaccines working? Yes, there are people who want to profit above the good of others. Guess what, a lot of the people you believe in are the same. They have helped continue to kill thousands of US citizens since the vaccines rolled out. Not going to sugar coat it but you have legitimately helped this continue. Time to put on your big boy pants man. It’s tough out there and not everyone wants the best for you. Guess what, there’s still a lot of doctors and scientists who are working very hard to save people and cure diseases. Opiods do work for pain. Simple as that. Does that mean they weren’t overprescribed and that people didn’t profit in a bad way? No. You know what you can do, stop helping people who are getting people to die of COVID.

You are just a fish in this world. You fall for things hook, line and sinker. You can’t process the thought that there’s more than that bait hanging on a hook and fighting until you break off or dying. Guess what, there’s a huge ocean of possibilities out there. You are choosing to believe FB groups links of irrelevant (Opiod crisis and DuPont), incorrect (AIDS and HIV) and lunacy (vaccines being harmful) which come from a handful of people when thousands of scientists and doctors and smart people are telling you COVID exists and the vaccine is the best protection.

Do yourself and your family a favor and get the vaccine. Do the world a favor and stop trying to drag other people into the pit you are in because there’s a lot more good outside that pit.

I liked this thread better when we we talking about cars.
So true. I used to love the 911s. My dad had an old 1960 roadster convertible like Dylan in 90210, just white. So cool. Not fast like the 911, but a sweet old ride. It went to college payments, ugh.

Nice. I have a ‘70 Cuda

Sick!  Love Cuda’s. My Chevelle had a built 427 with Brodix heads and also had dumps just before the back axle. My wife said she could hear me coming home from blocks away. Lol.  Was a beast.  Miss that car too.
I sold my cars a few years ago to put money into my house but will be back into something fun soon.

Nice. Mine is all original with 383, 4-speed and 3.91 in the rear. Sadly I don’t really get it out much anymore with all the kids sports. Have been contemplating just selling the thing, but if I do I doubt I’ll ever get another car like it again

Don’t sell it!  While it was the right thing to do I deeply regret selling my 911.

Feel free to run along and not concern yourself with me or my ideas. Why do you care so much about what someone you consider to be foolish chooses to discuss? Seems pretty strange to me.

"run along"  :lmao:

so if this is your "new, improved version" ...what were you like before??

I don't remember you

are you new and improved because you are no longer a "believer"?  Not sure how that changes for someone for the better/worse unless they're a judgmental zealot.

though I can see you that role.

Right...so you badger and mock me and then blame me for being "judgmental".

Again, why do you care about what I say or think? If you disagree, move on.

It should seem strange to you since you still think you’re right. I’ve said it a dozen times before.

Us normal, non-delusional, non-conspiracy nut people are tired of idiots like you peppering everyone with the same disproven #### about not getting vaccinated. We saw the light at the end of the tunnel when the vaccines were successful but then ####tards like you keep spreading misinformation so we have yet another peak and more people dying and we can’t get back to normal. Then again according to you idiots the US is just all at the same time having undue stress and toxin build up.

I’m normally a nice level headed, easy going person, but I loathe and despise people like you. I don’t spend any time thinking about your ilk but I’m happy to jump in these threads and tell you how stupid your ideas are. I’ll go back to my family and friends and enjoy my Moderna’d up body and won’t lose a minute of sleep when any of you idiots get really sick and could have easily avoided it and avoided killing other people.

I think I’ll make that my 🎙 drop and as in 8 mile tell you to #### off and have a nice day.

You think I'm delusional...I think you're naive. But only one of us has been a #### toward the other.

are you hurt?

you seem hurt.

you say provocative things then feign surprise when others push back.

you didn't come here to have sensible interchange with people.

you have come here to get people riled up.   I am not riled up.

a number of us have dropped in to say - we know what you are, we know what you are doing and why you are here ...and it isn't good ...for anyone, including you

I would say "run along" but I suspect if you left, it would be very slowly and leave a slimy trail behind you.
