If I give WRs PPR (1 Viewer)

I'm the commisioner of a 10 player league in our fifth year. We've never had PPR, and now everybody seems to want it. Right now both running backs and WRs get 1 point for 10 yards, 6 points for TD. But I'm afraid that if I add PPR, it will make wide receivers much more valuable than running backs, and I thought they were supposed to be potentially equal in scoring ability (especially since we have a flex positon.) Should I adjust the running back scoring in some way to account for this?

Feedback really appreciated.

You can play with the VBD app to tweak your league scoring. It will adjust values for reception points per position and factor in roster requirements to give you a glipse at how the cross-positional values line up (top 50). Really fun app!

When a WR becomes the consensus #1 overall pick, maybe you'll have a problem. Don't worry about it.

no, are league is just like yours (we are ppr), and rbs and wrs are equal
I am in a straight PPR also and it just evens the two positions out more (although still favors RBs slightly). What you will find different is that random, previously unstartable RBs (think Kevin Faulk) can be thrown in the flex position when in a pinch. In your 10 team league, you may want to add a roster spot or else there may bee too much talent on the WW. Some leagues like this, the more competitive ones do not like having that excess talent on the WW.

Hi Tim,

I prefer a graduated scale like .5 for RBs, 1 for WRs, and 1.5 for TEs...or you can start with 1 for RBs, 1.5 WRs, and 2 for TEs.

I do like a graduated scale but if you go with no PPR for RBs and 1 for WRs you simply are changing strategy. What are the starting requirements, is there a flex, are QB getting 6 pts?

Why not .5 ppr for everyone? In my experience I've found it strikes a nice balance between RBs and WRs.

This is what we had the past 3 years in our league, and RBs were still ruling the roost, plus Tight ends are severely undervalued.I made the switch to .75 PPR for RB and WR and 1 PPR for TE this season, and am hoping that it evens it out a bit.

i play in 2 leagues were the scoring systems are the same but one is PPR(1 PPR for RBs and WRs) and the other is not

1/pt 10 yards rush and rec and all TDs 6Pts

here is the break down of # of RB and WR in the top 30, top 20 and top 10 for both leagues.

What we do is .5 ppr for RB and 1ppr for WR/TE. We adjusted RB yardage to .12pts per yd while WR/TE stayed at .1pt per yd. This works well for us.

How about 1 ppr (any position). And 0.2 per rushing attempt. It rewards players that are a bigger part of the game plan.

i was used to playing non-ppr and started a ppr last season. personally, i found a straight ppr to be weighted too heavily toward pass catchers. we're going with a 0.5 ppr this season. i believe this will adjust the scoring properly.

My suggestion is to change the value of receiving yards instead. At least throw it out there for discussion.

If you are interested check out the long thread on the merits of PPR here - some interesting stuff.
