I'm playing Michael Turner over ___________ (1 Viewer)

Boy that Turner kool-aid tatses good! I'm going to start Turner over LT!
:lmao: Seriously, I'm starting him over KJones this week but some people are getting a little carried away. I'm as big a fan of the Burner as anyone, but everyone needs to just settle down. Let's not set unrealistic expectations this week.

I'm finally joining the Turner cult and starting him this week over LaMont Jordan. Denver has only given up one touchdown all season, so I don't like Jordan's chances.

:goodposting: I am starting Turner and Leon over Lamont. Like you said, if Oakland makes it over the 50 I'd be surpised. Plus with the whole Fargas thing, it's pretty much a no-brainer.

considering him over Gore...... just considering.

the way things have been going this year, whichever one is on my bench will outscore the chosen starter.

I am starting Gore over Turner. There is no guarantee Turner will get more than 10 carries. Gore will be good for 20+. I will take my chances with a guy who gets twice as many opportunities. And what happens if by some holy miracle the 49ers keep it a little close...still think you will see a lot of Turner in the 2nd half? Turner has future stud written all over him, but we are still talking about a backup RB.

I've got Rudi in absolutely, then Gore in now, but debating putting Turner in because it's the 9ers. Foster is the other option, and no way does he play

But, the game is in SF. They're bitter because they got shut down. SD shut down Jamal. Turner will get a lot of action, because I see SD up early.

It'll come down to a game time decision, but I'll likely stick w/ Gore, just because of the touches. It's really a coin flip for me. I think Turners upside is better, just because it's a better O going against a weaker D, but SF has to be up for the game, as home and embarrassed.

Why are people assuming Turner only gets play if the SF game is a blowout?

He received significant action against Pittsburgh in a fairly close game. In the 4th quarter. And performed fairly well.

SF <> PIT (at least against the run)

To chime in as a Chargers homer that watches the games very closely..... Marty has been putting Burner and LT in the game at the same time. Last week vs. Pittsburgh, he split LT out as a reciever and left turner in the backfield for a mismatch on both. If a linebacker comes over to cover LT, it is a mismatch. If the safety comes over to cover LT that is one less man in the box Turner has to beat = mismatch for Turner. Turner will not just see action in mop up duty in the 4th quarter. Look for him to see playing time all four quarters.

 I was thrilled to see that. There's no good reason why this shouldn't continue. Get your best players on the field, LT is a better receiver than anyone on the Chargers except (maybe) Gates. Aside from Reggie Bush and Westbrook, are there any other RBs with LT's versatility?

ppl are talkin about starting him over warrick dunn??? sounds nuts to me ...
Dunn has 0 TDs this year and 99 rushing yards in his last two games. Expain to me why that's nuts.
First of all, I don't base who I play week to week from the two previous games.2nd of all, Turner has 1 TD this year and 102 yards the last two games. Not a big difference, so I'm not sure what you're getting at.Warrick Dunn has 2x the number of rushes that Turner has this year. He'll have more opportunity to rack up yards & score.Warrick Dunn has more fantasy points this year than Turner.Warrick Dunn's last two games have been terrible if you compare it to his average game (terms of rushes, yards, yards per carry) ... I don't see why you expect it to stay that way. Turner has been doing great with the chances he's been given, so unless you expect at least 10 rushes from Turner with at least 6 yards a carry, you're pretty much saying:Warrick Dunn floor = Michael Turner ceilingIt's possible that Turner outperforms Dunn, but not probable in my opinion. So I play Dunn.
:goodposting: logical and concise

Thank God I didn't drink the kool-aid...at least I got some points out of Battle. The bye weeks and injuries almost had me drinking it. :loco:

I had thought of playing both LT and Turner, but didn't risk it. Glad I left Turner on the Bench.

Anyone know why the Chargers didn't put him in the game? Think LT said he wanted the ball more?

The moral of the story... touches trump all.

If a guy has a ceiling of maybe 10 touches that he might possibly reach IF the game's a blowout and IF the team runs far more than he passes, then maybe you should kind of sort of think about not starting him unless you're absolutely desperate.

The game was not a blowout till the 4th qurter really. It was encouraging for LT owners that San Fran was scoring early in the game. Turner's points on the last SD drive went to LT today....4TDs unreal. This was the game LT onwers have been waiting for.

:lmao: Blowing the whole ridiculous notion of "HOMER" credibility right out of the water. The guy had ONE carry ... that's one more than me, and I spent the day 3,000 miles away from that game.

Actually, this is what happened several times yesterday. The difference was this time, when they lined up with LT at WR and Turner at RB, they threw to LT every time. Last week they handed off to Turner each time. Maybe they're trying to get the formation seen around the league to set it up for when they actually need it? No idea.I'm completely confused by how the Chargers use their backs. Last week in a semi-close game they're handing off to Turner in crunch time, this week they let LT stick around for TD #4 in a blowout. Just odd.

Turner has been being used to pound out some tough yards. Yesterday vs the 49'ers the yards weren't as tough to come by.

If always start your studs is FF rule #1 then

never start an NFL teams back-up should be FF rule #1B

anyone who takes comments from this message board or from the experts at FFBG and uses them 100% shouldnt be playing fantasy football. you are being a robot. sure, read the info, look at the rankings, use it as research, but you as an individual must make these decisions on your own. the fact that we now have owners out there that know little about football and just go by what fantasy sites say are ruining this gambling outlet. boooo

Seems to be a combination of going with the hot hand, resting LT if he needs it (didn't seem to yesterday) and the personnel on defense. Steelers IDPs are a lot more physical than San Fran's, so Turner ran more. (FWIW, it seems the Titans D is more physical than SF as well)

It's not gambling, it's a game of skill, dammit.(F'n Bill Frist might be lurking)

:scared:

I had Turner as a hand-cuff and started him with LT due to bye week issues in 2 leagues. 30 points from LT and 0 from Turner, 15 from each or 25 for Turner and 5 for LT, it's all 30 points! The LT/Turner combo probably won one of my games for me (up by 20 with Line-art playing for my opponent tonight) and already won me another.
