Indefinite Las Vegas Raiders thread - ☠ Mork and Brady on a BJ watch - Hooker not out of the question ☠ (23 Viewers)

Even without Adams I think they have a very good shot at the Broncos today. The defense was impressive without Maxx last week.

You have to worry about the offenses ability to move the ball but so do the Broncos.

13-7 win, perhaps?

Latest rumor all over social media .

Maxx said if Adams goes , he goes as well 😁
yea, that is 100% BS.

You know it is because if he actually said that then it would be HUGE sports news.
oh i know its just the internet being the internet , people are wild and lovee to start rumors with official looking posts and watch the fans become unglued , just thought it was amusing that Maxx got dragged into the Davante story.

Or a 10-0 lead followed by giving up 33 unanswered points.

Either makes sense.

Aaaaaaaaaand back to trade talk....

The Raiders have let interested teams know that team owner Mark Davis will not accept anything less than a second-round draft pick in return for Adams, along with additional compensation that could be in the form of a draft pick or a player, according to league sources.
We knew the 2nd was asking but this is the first that I have heard them telling them "Look, our owner will not sign off on a trade with nothing less than a 2nd+ so....."

Maybe keeping Pierce and signing Minshew was part of a genius plan to make fans believe the team was making a winning effort while, in reality they are trying to win the 2025 draft.

WINNING!!!

Didn’t see the game. I’m glad I didn’t. I did pick up and start Denver’s D in multiple leagues. The only update I got on my phone was….Patrick Surtain 100 yard interception for a TD! So, winning?

The losing doesn’t even phase me anymore. :oldunsure:

Probably still going to the rams game. :lmao:

Good to see AOC moving out of the pocket yesterday. Bad to see him throw while moving out of the pocket. Still, they have to start him rest of the way and see if there's anything there worth salvaging, even as a cheap future backup. At this point, I'd go AOC and if he flops around, I'd start that UDFA kid who I think/hope is still on the practice squad. Uncle Minch project is hopefully dead, and if not, the fire AP chants will be coming in hot.

They haven’t “won” the large majority of their drafts over the past 25 years. Why would next year be different?

It’s only October and it’s time to close the book on the 2024 season. The Raiders are the worst team in the AFC W, got beat by an average rookie QB yesterday, and are trying to trade away their best player on O. It takes a special team to be this bad for so long.

It’s time to look forward to next year. Will the Raiders finally wise up and rebuild? Who else can be traded for draft capital?

I usually get to Halloween before I write them off for the season. Gets earlier and earlier every year.

Welcome to the party, pal!

The raiders should just cut Adams and get nothing for him. You know, like they didn’t with an NFL starting QB on their roster a couple years back.

Don’t screw this up, Raiders!
Sigh. Carr had a no trade clause and was completely in control. The raiders benched him to protect themselves from the injury clause in his contract. Carr and his agent had the raiders by the short hairs.
No, they had a guy with no balls by the short hairs.

You let the deadline pass. Then in March you tell the guy "you're under contract, we'll see you at minicamps. If you really don't want to be here, waive the no-trade and we'll make it happen". Someone's coming out of the preseason/drat without a QB option and $34M isn't scaring any of them away. The Saints obviously but the Jets had to be ****ting themselves the longer they couldn't get Aaron Rodgers done. QB in the NFL is musical chairs - there aren't enough to go around, someone's gonna get stuck without a chair, no one wants to be the one that does, and things are gonna get DESPERATE for a couple teams that don't have their answer.

****ing cowards.

Glad I upped my total to EIGHT fantasy leagues this year. I need the distractions.

Also glad they don’t always air the Raiders games in the Bay Area anymore . It’s a blessing, honestly.

I’m glad I retired from FF this season so I don’t have waste any time watching the NFL unless I’m completely bored. I turned on the Rams - Packers game yesterday but got tired of watching commercials after ten minutes so turned off the TV and practiced guitar instead. I didn’t even know anything about the Raider game until this morning. It’s fantastic. I will always be a Raider fan but eventually I won’t even know who is in the team if I continue fading away at this point.

And you call me the negative one.

;)
I prefer to think of myself as a realist. If it reflects as negative, see the Raiders front office. 🤷‍♂️

Even I won't judge the current FO on what happened under JM or Gruden.

Telesco has had one draft with the Raiders and all I can say is Brock Bowers is the reason Davante isn't going to be a Raider for much longer.

No idea how this draft will look in three years but it isn't a terrible start.

I posted this on 9/26. It wasn't nearly as terrible as I was expecting when I decided to look into Telesco's draft history.
Telesco first and second round draft picks:
2013: DJ Fluker (1st), Manti Te'o (2nd)
2014: Jason Verrett (1st), Jeremiah Attaochu (2nd)
2015: Melvin Gordon (1st), Denzel Perryman (2nd)
2016: Joey Bosa (1st), Hunter Henry (2nd)
2017: Mike Williams (1st), Forrest Lamp (2nd)
2018: Derwin James (1st), Uchenna Nwosu (2nd)
2019: Jerry Tillery (1st), Nasir Adderly (2nd)
2020: Justin Herbert (1st), Kenneth Murray (1st)
2021: Rashawn Slater (1st), Asante Samuel Jr. (2nd)
2022: Zion Johnson (1st),
2023: Quentin Johnson (1st), Tuli Tuipulotu (2nd)
2024: Brock Bowers (1st), Jackson Powers-Johnson (2nd)
His drafts, on the surface are actually pretty okay, if not good. The Chargers had plenty of talent.

He seems to suck at hiring coaches, although I don't think he deserve the blame for ol' Antonio "run on 3rd & 5 inside the opponents 50 then punt on 4th & 2 while trailing in the 4th" Pierce. He should get another crack at hiring a coach... So long as that coach is Ben mother #####22 Johnson!

I think the Raiders continue to roll with Minshew as the starter.
But I fear we will see the same results as long as Getsy has the current control he has over the offence. He's terrible.

Pulling this from Twitter, regarding Big Mike

“His family reached out to the team and informed them it’s a situation that has occurred in his life before and has popped up again”It has nothing to do with him wanting a trade or being frustrated with playing timeNow that the team knows what it is they feel like they can get to a resolution. This Per

Yeah, we aren't talking about Mayer enough in here. I honestly hope they don't trade him. He and Bowers may both be tight ends but that's in name only. They're skill sets are entirely different and a strong offensive minded coach could give opposing defenses fits by building an offense around those two.

Someone like Ben "Got Dang" Johnson!

This team got Getsy'd. See Justin Fields for what it looks like when you shed the disease.

As for TT, his picks seem good on paper, but for some reason his teams are always cursed by injuries. Even players he doesn't draft like Koonce, Epps and Wilkins don't seem to be immune.

Fields is a jag, and nothing better. Current stats show Fields:
  • 23rd in QBR
  • 20th in TDs
  • 23rd in TD%
  • 20th in pass yds
  • 20th in yds per attempt
He is playing better with Steelers but has not turned into a pro bowl QB or anything. The thing that is killing me about Getsy is that even though the offense was not overall good, they had the running game going and we can't seem to get anything going. I am not sure if the change in blocking schemes is the problem, but I am suspicious that it is.

Wilkins on IR.

We are cursed.
Jones fracture. Unreal. That's likely at least 8 weeks.
You know what I'm going to say: Put him on season ending IR. Fine, a miracle run is possible but it seems highly, highly, extremely, deeply, very unlikely with this QB room. So, why risk your billion dollar investment which, and this was no joke was the highlight of my Raiders year. Man I was so happy, shocked, elated x100000000000...nth?

Of course Raiders' season done by Columbus Day in a year with weaker QB prospects. We'll probably trade Adams to KC so they can 3-peat.
No one should care one whit about what KC does. If they make the best offer for Davante, the Raiders should absolutely do it.

And, any of the top QB prospects is galaxies better than anyone on the roster.

Anyone know what the free agent QB scene is looking like?

KC is 3 peating with or without Adam’s. The Raiders should trade him to the team that offers most.
I don't think KC even wants Adams. Their biggest problem is their OTs. Mahomes can win with the receivers they have. If they don't win it will be because they can't protect him.
