You are always welcome to talk football here. Again thanks for taking time from your busy schedule to answer our questions. His site is NFLDraftScout.com - Check it out.

I thoroughly enjoyed it, especially to get to participate in the question development.

Was wondering if we could again post questions post-draft that the staff could provide their views on.

Overall a big thumbs up!

I've been a subscriber to NFL Draft Scout the last few years and read Sports Weekly religiously, so I expected Rob to bring his "A" game. But the manner in which he handled those questions, which he didn't know were coming, was impressive. For those who have participated in ESPN chats before, there's no way they answer questions at the same pace as Rob banged these out today

Two thumbs up! While I don't think he said anything earth shattering, it's awesome reading first hand the thoughts on some of these players from someone inside the "circle."

:goodposting: I agree. Thanks for bringing this to us.

I just want to add that I ponied up the $25 subscription fee a couple of months ago @ nfldraftscout.com; for the person that loves to spend hours perusing geeky draft talk, it's a bargain ("extreme" bargain for the Mountain Dew generation).

The layout is very busy, but it's a fun drive when you have two hours to burn.

ETA: "two hours to burn" represents a sample. It would take much longer than that to read all the content.

that was excellent and very imformative.

i was surprised to hear about how he saw the OL.. always great to get that kind of insight.

You expect him to sit in front a computer for 4 hours answering our questions? I'm glad he spent the hour and a half answering questions. He cranked out those great answers in a mere 5 minutes per question it seemed. Awesome! Thanks guys!

Great job FBGs...Did you get the turn out expected? It seemed there were about 90+ watching the thread.

Love to see maybe one more of these before the draft...maybe using the other questions that were not used. :2cents:

Hi NE.Yes, a couple times we had 100+ on the thread. The bigger thing though for me is the page views. This morning, it's over 3,500 views and that'll grow through the day. I'm going to call it out in the email update going to everyone Thursday and that'll draw a ton of eyeballs to it.

The live aspect is very cool but the content is really what I'm going for there.

Good stuff.

Hopefully Mr. Rang will stop in the Shark Pool every few days to share more of his thoughts. I'm not sure there's a better place to advertise his draft site than on this board.

It also wouldn't hurt to have a draft guy who's a Seahawk fan. Bloom is obviously biased. ;)

Great thread.

Agreed. I know it never seems "long enough" written - but before I read this, I was looking at the time signature of each post - they got a lot of questions in during the alotted time.Great, great stuff. FBG just keeps getting better.

There's nothing really to add that hasn't already been said, so i'll just reiterate that this was fantastic, and I appreciate the effort from you guys to put it together.

:goodposting: Good stuff in that interview.

I've got to wonder how many people who have read through this only read it once.

It's three times for me now and I've been glad to re-read it!

Thanks to everyone who helped put this together. It's resources like this that always make me feel like I get my money's worth from FBG.

I don't recall if it was last year or the season before when FBG's got John Clayton to share his insights from his preseason camp tour. That was one of the best resources I read that year. I know Clayton hasn't exactly been on fire lately but any chance FBG's can get a similar insider take on the preseason?

Much appreciated.

Judging by what Mr. Rang had to say re: the tight ends, I'm more convinced than ever that the 49ers need to take V. Davis.

:goodposting: Excellent info, excellent questions - fine job all around.

Another wonderful idea from the staff that was presented in a great way! This is by far the best start for a season that Footballguys has had - it just gets better and better.

Good stuff!

FBG: Bowling Green's Omar Jacobs was wildly productive but seems to be getting a "system" label. Do you share those concerns and, if so, do you think he got some bad advice in deciding to come out early?

Rob Rang: It is tough to say that he got bad advice, because I don't know his personal situation. If he has issues to deal with such as financial, academic, or family problems, his decision to leave school for the money makes sense. I do believe he could have very much improved his standing with the NFL with another season. He is a bit of a system QB, but the biggest knock is a terrible delivery that will need to be completely overhauled. That said, he is an intelligent pocket-passer with solid accuracy and a better arm than credited for. I firmly believe he can be successful at the NFL level if allowed to sit and learn for a year or two.
I would say he left because the starting RB's, WR's, and majority of OLine were seniors... He would not have a great season next year and his stock would have been lower, IMO.

Watch out too for Joseph Addai. The best pass blocking RB of the draft and we've all seen talented rookie RBs not get playing time because of their pass blocking. He could see the field earlier than other, more highly acclaimed RBs.
Man, what a great interview! I haven't been in the Shark Pool for awhile and just checked in to bone up for draft-watching this weekend. I think I'll be filing the above tidbit away come fantasy draft time, depending where he ends up of course.
