Is a Denver vs Seattle Super Bowl inevitable? (1 Viewer)

I remember people were ripping on the Seahawks for only beating the Panthers 12-7 in week 1. That might have been the NFC championship game preview!

 
Looking at the Seahawks schedule, if they lose at Atlanta and at San Francisco, win the rest (Vikings, Saints, @Giants, Cardinals, Rams), they are 13-3. That should get HFA.

Atlanta is awful, I think that Giants game scares me more because they might have some things in order by then.

Maybe Seattle plays a little more composed next week, seems like the Falcons have cashed it in.

Atlanta is awful, I think that Giants game scares me more because they might have some things in order by then.

If SF wins out and Seattle only loses that game vs them, then SF would win the division based on SoS (5th tie-breaker). Someone did the math on it a week or two ago.

SF have Panthers and Seahawks at home, Saints/Redskins/Cards on the road. If they win out, they deserve HFA and then some.

If it's a tight race, the league put a huge cherry on the top of the season for Seattle with AZ and StL at home the last two weeks. I know StL gave them a huge challenge last week, but at home with playoff seeding on the line, I don't see that happening again.

 
It wouldn't shock me to see KC or NE represent the AFC. There are quite a few NFC teams who it wouldn't shock me if they represented the NFC this year. I think it's wide open this year.

KC isn't going to represent. They, as a team, are terrible. That being said, I don't think my Seahawks are going to do it either. They played like dog#### today and if they don't get it together soon they won't even make it through one playoff game, even at home.

I don't care who you beat, if you beat 9 NFL teams on the way to 9-0, you are NOT a terrible team.

They have a strong D, strong running game, and a QB who limits mistakes. Sounds like a lot of championship teams of recent years.

Having said all of that, the Chiefs haven't beaten a quality team. This doesn't mean they can't beat a quality team. It simply means they haven't done it yet.

This is the NFL, not the NCAA. With rare exceptions they are all quality teams. Being 9-0 is impressive.

This is the NFL, not the NCAA. With rare exceptions they are all quality teams. Being 9-0 is impressive.

I'll amend it by simply saying I do not believe Kansas City will continue to win at a .500 level from week 10 on. Being 9-0 is impressive. Beating the teams they have beaten to get to 9-0 I do not think is impressive.

We aren't barely beating quality teams. These aren't the world beaters we are taking down. In two weeks we have beaten the Rams and Bucs by a whopping 8 points combined. One was stopped at the 1 yard line and one we beat in overtime.

Seattle fans need to stop thinking being 8-1 is awesome. We are the Chiefs of the NFC until proven otherwise.

 
My wife asked me today why I was not crying, cussing, or throwing stuff. I advised her that between our defense and RW I have become immune to the panic and little strokes that always plagued me the last 30 years watching this team. They are by no means awesome, and they have glaring weaknesses. With that being said, this could be their year and I am enjoying the roller coaster ride.

In seasons past, I probably would've let myself get a little distracted (or drunkened) with guitar or porn or cleaning and not stuck with the game as intently as I did today. But for those same reasons, although I was nauseous in the first half, I didn't stop believing it could be done. I dunno if I thought they would do it, but I knew it could happen. The idiot playcalling gave me more unease than anything else.

You and I have remarked on this before. Whatever is going on between Lynch and Bevell, or crappy play calling needs to be addressed this week.

I'm always a pretty level headed guy. I don't get freaked out by anything. I'm not overly emotionally invested in how the Seahawks play. However, I watch most games with a large group of friends that seem to hang on every play. Lots of them have a hard time keeping it together when things don't go well for Seattle. But this year... things are different. Even when things aren't going well they can tell the team still expects to win while the opponents just seem like they're waiting for something bad to happen. You can just see it. Its a new thing for the Seattle fan base. Largely I think they just believe in Wilson. The kid is a gamer. When the pressure gets amped up, he delivers.

And I'm not really sure where the hate comes from. Maybe Bowe is pissing off fantasy owners, but the defense is young and solid, without dirty players. Charles seems well liked and respected. Alex Smith is a dink and dunk QB with enough wheels to pick up 1st downs on a couple broken plays. They have scored at least 17 points in every game and never given up more than 17.

Coming off of the 2-14 season where a player committed a murder/suicide, things were looking pretty down for this season.

New GM, new coach, new QB, re-energized fan base at Arrowhead - I'm enjoying the ride.

After the way Smith lost his job to Kaep last season, I thought most wanted to see him get another chance. Glad he is in KC - I thought Reid might bring in Kevin Kolb.

It's safe to say KC isn't a passing team, and they haven't faced a whole lot of QB's who are passing at elite levels. So until they face tougher opponents, it is fair to judge them based on who they have faced.

I don't think anybody hates Smith since 2011, if that is what you mean by "years".

2: offense has scored 3 TD's in a game once all season, and seems to have steadily gotten worse. Yesterday the O put up 9 points. The D outscored the O. This is not a sustainable way to win games.

3. run D seems suspect. They are giving up 5.0 yards/carry, dead last in the NFL, despite facing

I know I'm pointing out the obvious here and everyone is aware of all of this. KC is a good team, there's no doubt about that. Before we crown them a great team, I want to see an O that can move the ball when it needs to. I want to see them stonewall a good offense. I want to see if the offense is capable of mounting a comeback. I want to see if they can shut down the run.

 
Seattle won't hang with Green Bay if they get Cobb and Jones back. Sherman can only cover one guy. Seattle won't be able to score enough points. Final. 28-23

 
In 2011, the Giants lost 49-24 to the Saints in late November, and in Week 15, lost 23-10 at home to a mediocre Redskins team. They went on to win the Super Bowl.

In 2012, the Ravens lost 43-13 to the Texans in late October, and in Week 15, lost 34-17 at home to the Broncos. They went on to win the Super Bowl.

Moral of the story: nothing is inevitable.

Even with their so far easy schedule, it is not easy to be 9-0 in the NFL.

They have many studs on D.

I think they go out in the 1st playoff game but, they are not terrible.
