Is anyone besides me completely unmotivated about FF right now? (1 Viewer)

I haven't checked NFL news for months and I feel completely unmotivated to do so until a couple weeks from now. I have never been more unprepared for an upcoming FF season. Is anyone else suffering anything similar? How do I get out of this rut?

some of us are ninja ff asasins who destroy our leagues year in and out and some of us are you i guess but hey the world needs yous too so keep on keepin on and take it to the last place bank if there is such a thing

It's just the opposite for me. With baseball having so many days off this has been when I have the oppertunity to catch up on football.

X21st time ever.I am sure juices will get flowing in the next month, but no where near what they used to be.On one hand I kinda like not thinking about trade offers I should send out to fill my WR3 slot in June.

C'mon man. It's go time! :boxing: Do a couple mocks, play around with some different strategies, you'll get there.

I've already had 2 rookie drafts and a dynasty start-up draft this summer. So yeah, definitely not feeling unmotivated about the NFL.

Play dynasty, and you cannot afford to be unmotivated at any point in the year. :football:

Every year at the end of the NFL season, I'm burned out on FF. Having several months off is perfect for me. I get recharged and start goin after it about July when theres not much else goin on sports-wise.

Some of you will scoff at this, but when I start seein the FF mags in the rack, it kinda wakes me up. I usually buy one, and start flippin through it on the crapper. Mocking helps too. I do FF calculator

Yeah, it's about run its course with me after 21 years. Maybe if I can figure out a brand new way to play I might get the itch back. I'm kinda hoping none of my friends need me to fill out one of the local leagues.

Unless you've got a dynasty team in a very active league, there's really no reason to care right now. Just a week or two worth of prep right before your draft is enough to catch up on what happens during the summer.

You guys are supposedly so burnt out, yet your spending your time on a FF forum replying to threads about not being motivated by FF?

I'm not quite burned out on this message board yet.

Do you want to join my league? ;)I always question at the end of each season if I'll play the following. And yet I do, and by the first week when football starts, interacting with my leaguemates I'm glad I did.

I haven't played in a couple of years and I don't miss it at all. Playing ff became drudgery at the end and my apathy was through the roof by the end of my last season playing. Now I play a weekly pick'em with family and a couple of annual survival pools and that is more than enough to keep me in the game.

Frank, if you aren't having fun take a break from playing. You might find yourself enjoying your fall Sundays more if you do.

I'm diggin the Lions. Not so much that I like em, but you can actually stand to watch em now. Their game on Turkey day is fun to watch once again!

I've not paid much attention until recently, when most of my leagues started getting organized for this year. Started the catch-up process in the last few days.

This :goodposting: I think what it takes for me to finally get going is once i have found a few players that I plan on targeting... someone I feel is going to outperform his ADP.I continue to read as much football as life allows until i find these guys.BTW... I found a few this week so life has been put on the back burner until January.I'm in it now. Keep reading, it will come.

My 2 kids and now my puppy have essentially drained any time I have to think about anything besides what they are doing and have planned.

Right now, coming up with practice sessions for my kids soccer practices trumps who I am going to get in round 6. Years ago, I would have run thousands of mock drafts by now. As of today, I have not even downloaded the dominator.

It just seems like my priorities have changed. I will still play and try to get some research in, but I don't care the way I used to

With all the good rankings out there for redraft leagues there is no advantage to "preparing" early.Just load up draft dominator the same day as your draft and pick whoever it recommends and you won't be at any disadvantage from the guys who studied all offseason.Or join a dynasty league where it's not so simple.

Lame excuse, I have a kid, and they sleep. People with low passion say what you just said. Shameful.

It's tough this year for me because one of my two leagues ended this past year and I already know months ahead that I'm missing the draft for the other one due to a work commitment. :kicksrock: Gonna be really hard for me to do anything - probably have to prepare envelopes with each round's pick list as a pseudo autodraft *ugh*. If I'm lucky I MIGHT be able to do it by SmartPhone (but I doubt it).

Nope!!!!Just you....I reccomend knitting or bocce ball to fill the idle moments.....Once you've lost the love of FFB all else meaningless...

The NFL ended on a sour note with the Super Bowl being New York vs Boston, with New York winning. That's probably the worst matchup possible and we got it twice recently. I didn't even watch the thing. Would be nice for both New York teams to tank this year to quickly wash the stink off the NFL for that Super Bowl.

I loved watching the Patriots choke in the SB twice in 4 years.
