Is Bowe a Buy Lowe? (and who are your others...) (1 Viewer)

Ok ok....just hang with me a second. Based on Fantasy Points allowed in my PPR league:

Easiest matchups vs. WR : 1) PHI 2) BUF 3) SD 4) WAS 5) ATL 6) DEN 7) MIN 8) DET 9) GB 10) NYG

Now check out Bowe's upcoming schedule:

CLE, @BUF, BYE, @DEN, SD, DEN, @WAS, @OAK, IND.

Only the CLE, OAK and IND matchups are 'neutral'. The others are top 6 most permissive teams, allowing fantasy points to WR.

So...you are KC, you've got new system, new offense in place that might take time to open up. Now you get the BYE week. You also have the traditionally pass-happy Reid who might need to gear up for the playoffs and get ready to keep up with teams (like SD, DEN, WAS?) who can put points on the board.

If someone has cut him...I'm not saying...but I'm just saying...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KX5jNnDMfxA

Alex Smith is an effective quarterback, but rarely throws the deep ball, and when he does isn't that good at it. Bowe's bread and butter is intermediate to deep passes. They don't mesh well, and I don't see him as a buy low unless they start working him into the system in different ways or change their entire offensive strategy, which I wouldn't hold my breath on.

KC defense allows them to play conservatively and Alex Smith leads the way as a game manager whose #1 priority is not turning the ball over, right behind #2 of getting the ball to Charles.

If he's sitting on the WW I suppose you could make a speculative add and wait it out for a couple weeks if you have the bench space, but I wouldn't give up much—if anything—to get him.

Bowe is a buy low, IMO. His production will increase in the next few weeks based on the opponents and they started using him at the slot against the Texans. He received his highest number of targets last week (9).

Smith was looking down field last week and non-coincidently Bowe had his most targets/receptions/yards on the season. I actually do think he's a buy-low.

Definitely trust those matchups. He tore up the Eagles.

I drafted Bowe and he has been in my bench since week 4. I am holding on the off chance that he produces, but the patterns of the kc offense this indicate no reason for optimism.

I don't think so. I packaged him with Blackmon and traded for Dez (and I think I won that trade by a decent margin).

If I had any faith Bowe would turn it around I wouldn't have made that move. It's a 16-team, large rosters, so generally more competent players is better than a stud/nothing.

I actually think there is hidden value in Bowe at this point. He got dropped in 3 of my 6 fantasy leagues (all redraft)--and I grabbed him. Kansas City is a legit team. However--if you look at the first part of their schedule--there were very few reasons for them to commit to the deep passing game--as they have been ahead in a lot of the games they have been in this year. With a couple games against Denver, and some other high potent offenses--there could be a chance to for them to actually play from behind--which would mean--a larger commitment to the passing game. I'm not saying to expect elite production out of bowe--but I do think he has some solid matchup plays the rest of the way. I'd imagine the most bowe owners would be willing to give him up for a good kicker--so I see no harm in sending out some super low offers for him and see if there are any bites.
