It appears that the decline has begun, yes.I can't believe he was traded for Karlos Williams in two HyperActive Dynasty Leagues. Is he really on the decline already?
Well, I think you're right that you're unlikely to get reasonable value for him in trade. Marx would say that his use-value is higher than his exchange value. That is true, but Palmer is better than Stafford. Arians is better than Caldwell, and no one is asking for wr1 prices for Fitzgerald.Calvin is two years younger than Larry Fitzgerald. And better.

Not necessarily. I traded him for Dez last week.Milkman said:Value is plummeting. If you didn't sell last year you can't sell now. He's still a solid WR2 with good upside.

Better to sell too early than too late.Someone offered me a 2016, 2017, and 2018 1st for him. Thought about pulling the trigger but it would put me out of contention if I moved him. Probably could turn the 2018 pick into another 2016 1st but still, I want to win now.
If you prefer, Adam Smith talked about value in use vs. value in exchange as well, though not quite in the same terms.Jack White said:Leave it to a guy in Berkeley to quote Marx . . .CalBear said:Well, I think you're right that you're unlikely to get reasonable value for him in trade. You have to take that. You could easily turn one of those 1st's back into a piece that will keep you in contention.Someone offered me a 2016, 2017, and 2018 1st for him. Final offer was 2016 1st, 2018 1st, Larry Fitzgerald. I rejected. If it was a 2016 1st, 2017 1st, Larry Fitzgerald, maybe I accept.msudaisy26 said:You have to take that. I would take it and try to make some other moves. That is as good as it gets.Final offer was 2016 1st, 2018 1st, Larry Fitzgerald. I rejected. Wow, that guy is gonna hate himself in about 4 days...In redraft ppr I just sent Calvin and Joseph Randle for L Bell
Why?Wow, that guy is gonna hate himself in about 4 days...In redraft ppr I just sent Calvin and Joseph Randle for L Bell
Probably because Bell is typically outscoring both of those guys combined while taking up only one spot in his starting lineup. Why?Wow, that guy is gonna hate himself in about 4 days...In redraft ppr I just sent Calvin and Joseph Randle for L Bell
Don't get me wrong I like the trade, just wasn't sure if he was speculating that Randle may lose his job.Probably because Bell is typically outscoring both of those guys combined while taking up only one spot in his starting lineup. Why?Wow, that guy is gonna hate himself in about 4 days...In redraft ppr I just sent Calvin and Joseph Randle for L Bell
And that was without the potential of Randle losing work to Christine Michael, which has at least become a possibility going forward.
I'm not so sure. Stafford missed him twice when he was wide open after beating his man for big gains (one could have been a TD) and came within a foot of scoring in the last game.
Even if this is the case and Johnson is playing like he's 22, the end result is the same.I'm not so sure. Stafford missed him twice when he was wide open after beating his man for big gains (one could have been a TD) and came within a foot of scoring in the last game.
I think people are throwing dirt on this guy way too early. He's 30. Stafford is the one that looks like a shell of himself.
End result won't be the same once they get through this brutal first-half schedule. Bears, Vikings, Chiefs, Packers, Raiders coming up after this Arizona game. Big games are coming.Even if this is the case and Johnson is playing like he's 22, the end result is the same.I'm not so sure. Situations change, and sometimes for the better. A player that is in decline (if true) usually doesn't change for the better.Even if this is the case and Johnson is playing like he's 22, the end result is the same.I'm not so sure. I'm saying that both Stafford and Johnson are in decline. And will stay beaten down in this ####e offense.Situations change, and sometimes for the better. Actually you weren't saying that - and I certainly wasn't either.I'm saying that both Stafford and Johnson are in decline. I think you will regret this. That is pretty decent value and Fitz probably gives you about the same numbers IMO.Final offer was 2016 1st, 2018 1st, Larry Fitzgerald. I rejected. I ended up winning my league last year after those moves, and am currently 4-0 and 20 points ahead of 2nd place despite having Lamar and CJA as my rbs going in and having a clunker week 4....scored 211 points week 3 and 89 week 4. Anyway, I've won 13 games in a row since selling Calvin last Novemeber.Wow, I see it opposite. Julio is always dinged up and Calvin is dinged up and old. Every year I have him his value would only go down. I sold him before the first game that he started but was just a decoy. That trade was $$$ for this year and honestly I think it will prove out that I sold him at his career high value.Redraft for sure. For Dynasty, I'd still rather have Calvin/Julio.I started the year with a great WR corps of Calvin, Cobb, Julio. I moved Calvin first and over the weeks have turned that corps into ABrown, Cobb, OBJ. Feel that it's a better group now.
Uh, I would take that offer even if Calvin was doing well.Starting to lose patience the Lions are ever going to pull their head out of their #### and use Calvin like they should. Thinking of taking an offer of Lacy straight across for Calvin. Just can't take the frustration any longer. I also wouldn't have to watch that train wreck of team play any longer.
I know I should but I just keep holding out hope that the old Calvin will come back. You know, the one who could win you weeks by himself. Where did that Calvin go? Is he too old to produce like that any longer?Uh, I would take that offer even if Calvin was doing well.Starting to lose patience the Lions are ever going to pull their head out of their #### and use Calvin like they should. If you're hoping to avoid week after week of a highly talented player being underutilized and not given TD opportunities, trading for Lacy is not your best move.Uh, I would take that offer even if Calvin was doing well.Starting to lose patience the Lions are ever going to pull their head out of their #### and use Calvin like they should. Just took Lacy for Calvin in a ppr redraft league. Traded one underutilized player for another. If you're hoping to avoid week after week of a highly talented player being underutilized and not given TD opportunities, trading for Lacy is not your best move. That said, take that trade!Uh, I would take that offer even if Calvin was doing well.Starting to lose patience the Lions are ever going to pull their head out of their #### and use Calvin like they should. I traded him a week ago for Brandon Marshall in a 1 point PPR redraft. The name "Megatron" still carriers a lot of weight.Anyone made any deals for Calvin after the blow up game? Was wondering what kind of value he has.
I guess so.I traded him a week ago for Brandon Marshall in a 1 point PPR redraft. The name "Megatron" still carriers a lot of weight.Anyone made any deals for Calvin after the blow up game? Was wondering what kind of value he has.
Redraft PPR sent Randle and Blount for him today.Anyone made any deals for Calvin after the blow up game? Was wondering what kind of value he has.

If what you say in your last sentence is correct, I think you're probably better off waiting until he strings a few weeks together before selling in dynasty if you're trying to capture the short term high. Now is the time to sell Calvin in dynasty. In redraft this could be the start of something nice for the rest of the year.
