Is Quincy Wilson the "real" handcuff to Rudi Johnson? (1 Viewer)

Quincy Wilson-RB-Bengals Aug. 13 - 1:41 pm et

According to the Cincinnati Enquirer, Quincy Wilson has a better chance than Kenny Watson to see his role increase following Kenny Irons' injury.

Well that's a surprise. This is Wilson's third season with the Bengals and fourth in the league, but he has only has two career carries. This may indicate that Watson is locked into a third-down/special teams role and won't have quite the handcuff status we imagined.

I expect the Bengals to sign a veteran. I initially thought Dillon would be a good pickup, but not according to the Bengal brass.

Corey Dillon-RB- Patriots Aug. 13 - 12:48 pm et

Bengals coach Marvin Lewis says his team has not considered bringing in ex-Bengal and free agent Corey Dillon in for a visit.

"Corey had a fine career here," Lewis said. "He finished it up with a fine career in New England." The Bengals may look for a veteran back in the wake of Kenny Irons' torn ACL, but Dillon is probably out of the question.

Kenny Watson is a great 3rd down back and special teams player.

He's not the guy you use to run up the middle 10 times a game.

Is Q Wilson a "grind it out move the chains" type player? cause thats what they need

in case R Johnson goes down.

I think Palmer is the handcuff... if Rudi goes down there's probably going to be a lot more passing going on.

There's only two pounds difference.Johnson, Rudi 32 RB 5-10 214 Auburn 7 10/1/1979 Perry, Chris 23 RB 6-0 224 Michigan 4 12/27/1981 Watson, Kenny 33 RB 6-0 218 Penn State 6 3/13/1978 Wilson, Quincy 35 RB 5-9 220 West Virginia 2 4/26/1981

Yeah, Watsons got good size but the few times I've watched him

run he looked like a dancer, not a "grinder"

If I'm wrong why keep C Perry around and then draft K Irons?

:lmao: I hate this dang situation. I got Rudi, Perry and drafted Irons this year.

I can only carry 21 people during the season, so i might have to cut someone i dont want to or not cuff Rudi at all....

Perry (still is a talent, i always liked him and thought he could be special) is his time up....maybe, but right now im still holdin out.

Irons (this is a hard blow, i cant cut a man i just drafted, now i gotta sit on him) that hurts.

owell

With no moves-handcuff wise, Rudi only needs to stay healthy til Perry gets back

Derrick Ward, (can Cedric Houston be coaxed?), and several "eh" RBs like those two will probably be waived and the Bungles can pick them up til Perry gets back just in case.

There's nothing pressing here for the Bengals

BTW I still like that off the wall suggestion of Ricky going to Cincy that someone here suggested. That would crack me up and be good for their team

was a horrible waste of roster space to begin with since you would only start 1 of the 3 at any given time.sorry UB but.....

5-9 and 220 is a lot different than 6-0 and 218.

Not to hijack, but I picked Rudi over Westbrook as my RB1 this past weekend, and now I'm having a bit of buyer's remorse. Thoughts?
