There are 16 Autozones in the Dallas area. Can you give me a hint to which one, or do I have to drive to each one, bust in the door with my penny and yell, "I need to see RokNRole!! He's probably your boss-ish guy"
I might fly down just to assist you in this.  We can go to a bar, do a shot, drink a beer, then go to an Autozone.  Rinse and repeat until we find MC Gas Herpes or some fat chicks.

If you find me you will also find the fat chicks

I, for one, hope everything works out well in your move to Dallas. That's a big step, and Dallas has a lot to offer for young professionals. I lived there for a few months right out of college for work, and it was great. A couple of things I learned:

1. The women are smoking hot. And that are really responsive to guys who are not from Texas. Seriously, when you hit the clubs make sure you tell them you are from the East Coast.

2. When you buy your first cowboy hat, start with a 4 gallon hat. It takes awhile to earn the "street cred" in Texas to wear a 10 gallon, and if you start out with a 10 gallon you will stick out like a sore thumb as a wanna be. Ease in slowly.

3. Buy a Dallas Cowboys jersey, preferably with Landry on the back. This is an immediate "in" at the sports bars.

4. If you are driving on a two lane road and someone wants to pass you, pull over on the right. It's the Texas thing to do and starts to build that "street cred" I was talking about earlier in regards to getting into the 10 gallon eventually.

Anyway, good luck.

I'm a Giants fan

Will never own anything Cowboys related.

A grand opportunity to make yourself over into the person you want to be.  There will be no apparent roots holding you to the past, and nobody shaping you with their existing conceptions.  Create yourself each day as your best version of yourself and in no time that will be who you are.

It's not as big a deal as you think.

Giants, Cowboy and Redskin fans are usually ok with eachothet

its the Eagles fans that everyone hates
I have an old college roommate that moved down there 10-15 years ago.  He drove around with Vikings flags on his car for the first 10 years or so.  He lived in Irving and probably got a ton of grief for it.  Maybe some thank you notes for the Hershel Walker trade.  He did switch to the Cowboys flags a few years ago because a lot of his kid's friends had parents that either worked for the Cowboys or had businesses that relied to some extent on the team in some way.

Congrats on the new job and good luck.  I wouldn't call myself a fan, but your posts and their reception here have been incredibly entertaining whether schtick or not.  Also, I am going to be down there in January for a wedding; cool if I crash on the couch for a few nights?

I see the thread title updated... was there another post that gives a bit more detail about definitively taking the job?

congrats again. and again- it'll do you a world of good getting out of the city and seeing how another part of the country lives, works and exists. from the sounds the wife is making, we might be right behind you on the way out of here.
Huh?  You giving up on the LES life?  Or are you in the EVIL?

Remind me, is the peenie cartoon guy also the same guy who made the weird Youtube vids, culminating in one where he was threatening to harm himself?  Or am I mixing up like five weird dudes.

I miss 2006, when all the new members were totally awesome, rad... dare I say ... legendary.

This sounds like something you'd hear at a gop presidential convention

October 1st is about two weeks away. So, I predict some wacky circumstances occur and the move to Dallas and the promotion fall through. Then RokNRole can have a new adventure!

When I was young I loved those Choose Your Own Adventure books. Can we make this thread like that? The OP can come up with options and the FFA votes on which one happens to him next.

Take it from a veteran, North Dallas is over rated. You can get more for your money if you grab up a ranch out west of Ft.Worth in the fertile prairie.

He's not ####### going anywhere.

It's one of many weirdo stories from a dong-drawing weirdo with more aliases than anyone would ever need.
