It's been a great run Peyton - now enjoy retirement.. (1 Viewer)

I'm fairly confident in saying he's the worst qb in the league. This is the Browns he can't score against
No that would be Michael Vick at the moment.

But if your talking about actual depth chart first teamers.....yeah Peyton has really tumbled.

I thought he should have retried after the Seattle Super Bowl loss. What an amazing season he had despite the bitter ending.

Fantasy wise I understand your pain. but as a Bronco fan, 6-0 is very, very nice. With the bye to get healthy and GB having to come to Denver, things are looking good.

Just imagine how good Denver would be if they had Josh McCown or Tyrod Taylor or Andy Dalton as their QB.

Can you have a better record than 6-0 at this point in the season? I am just curious if there are some bonus points or wins Denver should have now.

It's great to be 6-0, but the Broncos are not going to beat the Patriots, Bengals or Steelers (when healthy) with Manning playing like this. In the last 11 games that matter, Peyton has 11 touchdowns and 16 interceptions. His decline is more than obvious, when looking at his stats or through the eye test.

I don't think anybody at all is saying he hasn't drastically declined. And I don't see how you can say that they will be beat by those teams so confidently. Obviously it's yet to be seen, but I think the defense can make it so Peyton leading the offense to 24 points would be a win. Defense still wins titles, and as far as my eye can see, Denver has the best so far this year. Also important to note...NE hasn't faced such a stout defense this season either. We don't know how they'll play. Buffalo proved to be all talk. And anyone that's going to bring up Seattle is conveniently going to leave out the entire secondary was banged up and were down to a 5th string CB.

This.I've seen enough. I'm ready to pull the plug. I watched the game @ a sports bar today, and a guy said to me, "as long as they can keep him healthy until the playoffs, you will be ok." I said, "I've seen how that game goes already. No thanks".

When players get too old, it goes quick. It's better to be ahead of the curve and take your lumps with the newb QB now, as opposed to Manning making it painfully obvious that he is done in December/January.

I mean I'm happy for him in the league. He's carried so many teams single handedly over the years its about time he got some help in return. But I just can't play him in my 2qb league. I might need to make a play for Landry Jones.

And keep in mind Denver is 6-0 with 4 of those wins coming on the road. Denver has GB at home and NE at home. Big advantage. Kubiak needs to let Manning be Manning. He can put his full system in next year with Brock :X .

But the announcer I think was Fouts, pointed out, when you let Manning be in the gun and let him get in rhythm, he makes plays, but when he is always doing the play action and turning his back to the defense, he is not comfortable and makes mistakes.

Now don't get me wrong, Manning looks weaker and the balls are fluttering, but he had at least 4-5 drops today.

If Denver, with this defense, gets a running game established like today, they are going to dangerous,

He's 6-0. Just respect Peyton. I think we all know physically he's shot but this isn't a complete fall from grace. I just hope he is starting to realize this needs to be the end because I really can't see Denver or another team dealing with his limits next year. Dynasty wise, get what you can and redraft I think he can be dropped.

I can not believe this Den team is 6-0 with the terrible play of Manning. They are absolutely being carried by a dominant defense.

Seriously? The Broncos are 6-0 in spite of Peyton Manning. Not because of him. He's awful. He's worse than awful.Kubiak won't bench Manning now but perhaps that will change after the butt kicking that the Packers will deliver in two weeks.
Which butt kicking will you be referring to? Like 30-13? This defense will give the Pack problems. I think 30 even is on the high end.

the next time Denver's O produces 24 points this year will be the 1st 2nd time. they played the Browns with Haden and Tayshaun (sp) Gibson on the bench and the O scored 1 TD. not going to cut it against good teams.

6-0 is awesome, but this kind of play from the QB is no recipe for success regardless how good the D is

Agreed. It's common knowledge that Peyton generally doesn't play as well in cold weather, so if he is playing like this now, imagine how he will look in December and January when the weather is cold.

Maybe you can point out the part where I said their record would be better than 6-0? If the rest of the team is good enough to get them to 6-0 with this current version of Peyton out there, imagine how good they would be (not how much better their record would be) with an average or even above average QB.

This team would probably be a legitimate Super Bowl threat with Josh McCown as their QB, but probably isn't with Peyton out there, and that is really saying something. And again, I say that as one of the biggest Peyton fans on this board, but he is just beyond done. It was amazing for the almost two decades that it lasted, but this is like watching broken down Dan Marino in 1999 all over again.

According to the broadcasters, entering today's games (not sure if it changed this week or not) he was literally the only QB in the AFC with more INTs than TDs. The same AFC that includes guys like Brian Hoyer and Michael Vick and Ryan Fitzpatrick among others.

His QB rating this year is lower than Tim Tebow's was in Denver.

Yeah after reading that my mind as been thoroughly bottled.

This thread is a very interesting collection of opinions and I think it's really going to get fun if green Bay and new england come in and beat them.

It will be an interesting thought or two when people are faced with the reality that the team is a dead man walking; able to best lesser talents but clearly outmatched when great offensive teams score on them.

 even those of us who think Peyton can be the qb for a playoff team don't think the team is better than the pack or Patriots.

I might take Peyton over Stafford and cutler still (in the real thing)

I would for sure---If healthy, and in a nice pleasant setting. That's a big 'IF' Come January, I don't believe that Peyton will be healthy/throwing well.

Tell you what, tho, the rest of that team is good enough, right now, to drag any QB to a first round bye.

I'm not sure why dynasty and redraft would be any different. Is there some chance he'd actually be better or worth rostering next year?

There was no chance he would retire. He's a star whore who cares mostly about setting passing records.

I took it as "see if you can get a late pick"

Good posting. The Broncos are 6-0 after squeaking out narrow victories over Minnesota, Oakland and Cleveland the last three weeks. While those teams are better than they have been the last couple of seasons they're still average, at best, teams. This will get ugly when they need Manning to keep up with guys like Rodgers, Brady and even Dalton. Yes the Broncos have a great defense but those teams are going to score points. Manning just can't get it done is shootout type games anymore. His arm is toast.

It's hard to watch. It's hard to gauge what the new coach and his offense are having on Manning if any. He has dog poop running behind him. CJ Anderson and Ronnie Hillman are not NFL starting RBs, sorry FF owners but they really are not. The OL is not helping things much.

But I would say a QB pushing 40, no feeling in his fingertips, throws fluttery balls to begin with, you don't want to extend the guy 5 years is all I'm saying. It's sad because he is one of the best ever and he is not ending things on a high note. Remember 2-3 years ago when he arrived in Denver and his stats? He has hit the wall not suddenly but seems like pretty hard here.

Time to put down the baseball cap and put on the coach headset. We all know he is going to coach or move into ownership of one of these teams, VP/GM, whatever he wants to do. I can't see manning sitting at home on Sundays, don't see him being in the press or media, time to start coaching and many fans will support you.

Unless Kubiak cuts the bull#### so Manning doesn't have the added pressure of thinking about a new offense while dealing with his physical limitations. If they go back to the Manning hurry up without all the bootlegs and crap, he might still salvage the year. Unfortunately they're 6-0 and Kubiak will think that's his brilliant management.

There are at least 15 quarterbacks that would have this team at 6 - 0. Look at the teams he has faced.

Baltimore 1 - 5

Kansas City 1 -5

Detroit 1 - 5

Minnesota 3 - 2

Oakland 2 - 3

Cleveland 2 - 4

And maybe only the Vikings defense is the only good one in the bunch.

I look at it as if the Broncos fans found a $20 bill on the street. When Manning arrived, fans didn't know if Manning would ever be anything like his old self and he came out and wowed the world (after that first 2-3 game rocky start). So it's all like a free bonus at this point.

This is the reality that the Colts feared when they let him walk. This could have been his fate in Indy. Looking back at it now, the Colts have made a lot of stupid moves but this one seems like genius at this point.

Who knows how the season will end. If Dilfer can get a ring, Manning sure can but I have a bad gut feeling that this is going to be an anguishing end. The Broncos are going to smoke & mirror their way through the season and then get crushed terribly in the playoffs and the fans are going to have to sit through an agonizing type of game where some team like the Bengals or Pats end up dismantling them in one of those games where the Broncos get down and then Manning gets undressed and revealed terribly — something like a 42 -24 game that isn't as close as the score looks. We are probably going to get some iconic "Y.A. Tittle" type image of Manning at the end.

I don't see Manning as a coach. The great ones seldom seem to be the great teachers. They are so good that they can't grasp that guys can't have it come as easy to them as it did to them. I think he will be some type of ambassador. He may own some team interest or have a role but I doubt he will ever be roaming a sideline. Not for long, anyway.
