Lyndon Johnson was a southerner and a man of his Times, but he was pretty enlightened on the subject of race relations. Neither Eisenhower nor JFK were willing to deal with the civil rights movement in terms of changing federal law; Johnson was. It was pretty courageous of him, and he deserves more credit than he gets. Other aspects of his presidency are not so admirable, but he’s not a good example of a racist and it’s extremely silly (and rather uninformed) to have even brought him up in this discussion.

There are people going to prison related to lying about involvement with them. It's already been proven to be more than nothing. So again, how is it a witch hunt when:

The Farm Bill is awful and should be done away with.  It was awful under Obama, it was awful under Bush, and it was awful under Clinton.

If I thought you'd come to this discussion minus your preconceived notions, I'd lay out a rather lengthy list for you and guess what....good news for you, I don't watch CNN or any of our other national "news" networks.  Do you do twitter?  You can go to twitter.com and look up "Donald J Trump" and start reading.  Or you could google the world reaction to his acceptance speech at the national convention.  Or you could listen to any number of his recorded comments.  I mean, the list is endless.

I'm not sure why you think the campaign violations are specious.  Ultimately the whole situation doesn't move the needle for me either, besides the fact it's hilarious a lying poor man's rich guy got busted for banging a porn star shortly after his wife gave birth and he is now running the party of family values and has the support of evangelicals.  Then there was a series of goalpost movements before we got to where we are now.  I have no clue how anyone can see this as a witch hunt
