Whisenhunt will stick with Locker for now if he is fit.
So far he's had one good outing against a middling team.
One bad outing against a team that doesn't have a great defence
And one bad outing against what might be the best team in the NFL right now on their own patch. A team that looks like it has a superb defence.
So there's really only one proper turd in there.
The options behind him aren't too appealing either.
Locker should be given a bigger amount of time to find some consistency and have a run without major injury because he has flashed ability in the past only to have his progress halted prematurely

Well Whisenhunt said he'd stick with him in the post game presser linked a few posts before.
He has two bad outings, that is some huge sugar-coating-one was statistically the worst of his career and half of it may be the worst performance by a QB this season when all is said N done.
The options behind him are a not that good QB that is coach's pet and a rookie who led the NFL in passing yards in preseason-a late pick with some issues not an indication of some future franchise QB but I suppose maybe. I don't disagree that neither are appealing in some ways. I like Mettenberger alot and am admittedly basing way too much on a single preseason performance.
The thing is that this offense was built for a QB to be a part of. It wasn't like Jake's team and it's filled with his guys and Welker no Amendola no Edelman all seem to be interchangeable parts as Brady's toys.
They have a good line that could be very good like many Titans lines have over the years.
They have a just OK veteran back, a battering ram FB and a nice looking rookie RB.
They have a super quick small WR that NFL CBs stopped covering and instead hit him after he catches it-whenever they change and cover him, he scoots right past em'. He offers a very unique skillset and had a ton of catches last year.
They have a blessed youngster opposite him that is a prototype WR in today's game. He can do it all and hasn't done it all and hasn't done everything well in a game yet, but he offers a huge amount of hope. If he falters and/or either gets tired, they have a good veteran to fill in.
They have a TE that had the game of his life recently and looks to have improved tremendously. He played so well people forgot about Thompson whom was an up N comer not long ago.
They have arguably the best blocking TE in football.
They have a dynamic talent that can play WR or RB here n there.
They have a creative offensive coach and offensive coordinator that can genuinely adjust and makeup impressive game plans.
A QB is needed, a stud QB isn't.
It doesn't really matter if it's some ball control mistake free type or some gun slinger with a big arm. The other pieces are there.
The more you break things down, the more Locker is the sore point. There were issues last year with certain players and horrible OC and...they're all gone.
I do figure he gets more starts but I think the hook is looming.
Mettenberger lighting the world on fire(unlikely) I suppose is the only reason he won't get more chances to fail.
Like I said earlier though, there comes a point that this comes onto Whisenhunt too and he is at risk to lose his job. I highly doubt he will go 2-14 and coaching some high draft pick next year. He's gotta win some to earn that better luck next year support from the owner and GM. This can easily be twisted to "you are on offensive guru and your O has been brutal."
