Javon Walker - Separated Shoulder -Probable (1 Viewer)

1) Walker is badly hurt

2) No receptions since the injury

3) In three games with Cutler at QB, he's seen a decline in his FF PPG average

Virtually no upside to Walker this week, but a ton of downside. Its statisitically impossible to start him this week and get an FF win.
From all reports it doesn't appear that Walker is "hurt badly". He's practiced all week without limits. I don't know about you, but the term "without limits" doesn't seem to coincide with the term "hurt badly". I agree that all Walker owners should keep a close eye on the game time inactive list, because you never know if Shanahan will do something goofy. As far as your comments about Walker's decline since Cutler became the starter, I agree with you, but with an asterisk. Walker was well on his way to a big game with Cutler in the last game he played before he hurt his shoulder, and I love his matchup this week.
Of course not and the terms HK and reality don't coincide either. He's like Bush cherry picking intel. A #1 separation is the mildest one.

Broncos :: WR

WR Walker Practices, Will Start Sunday

Jeff Legwold, Rocky Mountain News - [Full Article]

Broncos WR Javon Walker practiced on Friday and is expected to start Sunday. Walker has a slight shoulder separation.

But will he be effective today
As I mentioned earlier, Charles Rives (Broncos expert from another site) says he'll be a decoy today. So I think he'll be amazingly effective in a decoy role, but from an FF standpoint I'd be shocked if he even recorded a reception.

I know what you're doing, you are trying to lay out some doubt to your competition who has Walker, knowing they read everything at FBGs. Good luck with that

Not even close.Have you personally ever played WR with a separated shoulder (at any level)? I know how brutal today will be for Javon.

When Walker does well today, do us a favor and chime in here for a good heaping of crow. I promise if you're right that I will be the first in line at the buffet. Deal?

Actually I have played offensive tackle and dislocated my shoulder in a game and came back in to finish it. I played the following week too. I also dislocated my shoulder before halftime several weeks later. I finished the game after having my arm popped back in. If an offensive tackle can do it....sure as heck a WR can do it.He's probable dude! They list guys with the sniffles as probable. He is healthy enough that Shanny isn't even playing games with the opposition saying he is gametime or something.

No problem. Of course the definition of "does well" is relative.

Completely not applicable. Did you ever take physics during your football career?Force = Mass x AccelerationTwo lineman bumping into each other does not create nearly the impact of a DB slamming into a WR when both have run for 15-20 yards. Not to mention range of motion, which is much more vital for a WR than a lineman. The only WR worth playing in the Denver game today is Chad Johnson.

Two lineman bumping into each other does not create nearly the impact of a DB slamming into a WR when both have run for 15-20 yards.

Read your own formula....it's MASS x Acceleration. Last time I checked there were no 300 lb cornerbacks in the league. Accelaration is no more important than mass in that formula. And watch a Dlineman, they come off with a LOT of accelaration. Or how bout when a linebacker blitzes. He is 275 lbs and moving just as fast as a cornerback. I would rather get hit by a CB at the ankles than take on an inside linebacker on a blitz. And last time I watched a game, I see offensive lineman getting hit hard every single play and using their arms/shoulder every single play. A Wr may go an entire series without getting touched. And when he does get tackled, it's usually by the knees, not at the shoulder. And definitely not with a 15 yard head start.

If you knew my profession, you would feel quite silly for asking me if I took physics.

Oh, and Walker seemed to look all right on that 39 yard bomb.

It's HK, people, he's in a desperate 2nd place in the FBG Fishing Contest. Just set him to ignore and we'll all be fine.
