Jax will beat New England! (1 Viewer)

Give it a quick delete, JB. You need to chill for a minute. There are other fans involved here, friend.

Heh....that's true, but even if Jax pulls it out do you think they have better than an outside shot at the Pats? I don't see them looking better than anybody right now. That's why you save those ______ will beat ______ columns for game week.

Awesome game, though.

I'll give Jax a 20% chance against the Pats.

Just too pourous on Defense. And I don't think 9 completions from Garrard is gonna do it against the Patriots.

Brady may have 9 completions on the first drive alone.

Regardless of the outcome of the game today, I fear JAX the most.

The running game makes the most damage and JAX not only has a good running game, but they also do have good screens and flickers to RBs as well as Garrard taking off at will. I am almost positive the 2 players in NFL Bill does not want to face are MJD and LT as they are clearly more versatile than most other RBs especially in the passing game.

Lendale White, Chris Brown and Vince Young pose less of a threat as I see Titans to be somewhat more one dimensional than Jags. The dudes that I am worried about the Titans are Haynesworth & Vanden Bosch. Now they pose a threat to stop the pass.

Regardless, I am sure all parties are doing their homeworks and the game will be a nice one. A nice cold freezing weather with little wind and no precipitation is also what the doctor can order to take the homefield advantage against these Southern/Dome teams.

fear is a good thing. I don't worry about Jack. But if I were Brady I would fear G.Jackson falling on me.

The look on Bradys face if they lose will be priceless
Huh? The look on any quarterback's face after he loses in the playoffs would be one of disappointment. What are you getting at here?
Not getting at anything really, I just love it when the Pats lose. It doesnt happen alot, so I'll be sure to enjoy it when it does. If it happens in a meaningful game, its just that much more sweet.

Another week of 200 yards in total offense will get the Jags a 3+ TD loss to New England.
Seriously. I also think that if the Patriots have small lead with about 3 minutes left, their offensive coordinator won't try 3 straight running plays.

The only way any teams have any chance against the Patriots is if Bill Belichick spends all gameday at the barbershop.

They have destroyed the "Any Given Sunday" theory, they have become to football what Germany used to be in soccer.Lineker: "Its a game with 11 guys on each side of the ball and in the end Germany wins"

If Jacksonville plays like they did last night, then I don't think it will be close. But, what are the chances that they play like they did last night. They have a fighter's chance. Of course, we are all assuming that the Chargers or going to beat the Titans.

If you take the emotion out of the debate, especially the love/hate for the Patriots, and look at this potential matchup objectively, how do you see the Jags winning this game?

How do you think the gameplan and execution will go?

Is Garrard going to beat the Pats with his arm, b/c my guess is the Pats will neutralize the run.

I watched the game last night, and while J'Ville was impressive in spots, they built their lead by capitalizing on Pittsburgh's mistakes.

This is not a multi-dimensional offense, but they have one great multi-dimensional player in MJD that will give the Pats fits. Let's face it, multi-threat backs like MJD (LT2, Westy) have had success against the Pats, but their production was never quite enough.

MJD will gets his yards and perhaps a score or two, but that probably won't be enough to win. What the Jags need is an equalizer.....like bad weather.

Doh! I said it. *pleasehaveniceweatherinNE* *pleasehaveniceweatherinNE* *pleasehaveniceweatherinNE*

Pats can be overpowered in a running game.

The Jags offense can be thrown on, but not at Mathis (I think he is easily top 3 DB)

This will be a great game.....and chess match.

If Jags are to win they cannot allow Pats to score over 21.....and bad weather will favour the Jags, as well.

:hophead: :lmao: :bye: :loco: :goodposting: .......Sorry that was pretty funny.

the Jags have a good shot. They could conceivably control the clock and play good D. If the Eagles and Giants could give them all they could handle I don't see where it's a huge stretch for the Jags to do it.

The more that I think about it, it's probably not a huge stretch. The Jags were not playing their game last night and still pulled out a win against a pretty good team. The Pats will be in for a battle....

A bit of an intangible but I think something going against Jacksonville is that it seems that every sports pundit is placing the mantle of New England Killer on Jacksonville's head. I usually don't like the "disrespect" card being played....but if I were the NE players...I'd probably be asking myself who the #### the Jacksonville Jaguars were...

If the weather is bad though...I think that's a big Jacksonville advantage.

Cool, it's thoughts like this that will keep the spread to an easily winnable 10 or 11 points. :sadbanana:

:sadbanana: NE could be favored by like 10 1/2 and BB will have them playing like the underdog.

Maybe we can work on reversing it ....Lets start getting the word out:

THE JAGS HAVE NO CHANCE AGAINST NEW ENGLAND...

The thing I wonder about is Jax stretching the field and being less one-dimensional in terms of short offense. The offense they ran against Pitt won't work against NE because there'll be 8 in the box and that just won't allow them to run against that front.

But, if Jax can get a deep ball or two and force NE to play them straight up, they may be able to run enough to keep things interesting. The Pats run defense is not great, imo, and perhaps that's the chance Jax has. But man....a one-dimensional offense basically hasn't beaten the Pats since Belichick got there, so unless Jax can change the fact that they are one (not that they can't pass---that they basically do everything within 10-15 yards of the line of scrimmage) I have to wonder if it'll be enough.

I know going into the playoffs, Jacksonville is getting of "hot" pick in terms of trying to pick someone in the AFC besides Indy and NE.

However, I just don't think they play good enough defense which in turns means they'll have to score.

I see a double digit loss for Jacksonville.

My main concern with the Jags(huge Jags fan, btw) is Garrard's inexperience. Bellichick is superb at mixing his defensive looks. Garrard may make a couple mistakes and that would be all NE needs. IF (and that's a big IF) Garrard plays clean, Jax runs the ball well controlling the clock, get a good pash rush against NE, then maybe. I think Jax has to force NE to be a one-dimensional passing attack in less-than ideal weather conditions to limit Brady. Jax D and special teams need to contribute like they did at Pitt and this could be a historic upset.

It would be difficult to paint a scenario for Pitt/SD/Tenn to pull this off which is why NE did NOT want to face the Jags. The only one of the bunch with a chance.

GO JAGS!!! :kicksrock: :lmao: :lmao:

Jax needs a big windstorm next Saturday night to have much of a chance of winning. Assuming SD beats Tenn, of course.

I can't stand the Patsies and all the cheating qualities they stand for, but there is no way Jax will beat them.

That privilege will go to the Indianapolis Colts in two weeks.

Are you talking about salary cap manipulation, pumping noise in through stadium speakers, teaching players to cut block in space, manipulating the rules of the game through political pressure on the competition committee, or rampant use of steroids by linemen?Or are you talking about disallowed placement of a video camera?

Please elaborate. TIA.

I don't think Jacksonville stands a chance against the Patriots.
every team left in the tournament has a "chance" but if the Pats play their game they will win. Jax doesnt have the fire power to play from far behind.
While that may be true, if Jacksonville doesn't who does? The Jags have scored 24 or more points in their last 11 games and have scored in 27 of their last 28 quarters.
