Sorry if a Honda, but I didn't see this. Here's the blurb I found:

The Green Bay Packers signed free-agent C Jeff Saturday (Colts) to an undisclosed deal Friday, March 23.

The Green Bay Packers have found their replacement for C Scott Wells.

In a huge upset, Jeff Saturday, the 36-year-old veteran free agent center, chose the Packers over the Denver Broncos and Tennessee Titans and has agreed to terms on a contract, according to a source familiar with the negotiations.

Update: Agent Ralph Cindrich has confirmed the deal and reported it was two years in length.

Most people assumed that Saturday would sign with the Broncos so he could be reunited with QB Peyton Manning, the Broncos' new $96 million man. Saturday joined the Colts in Manning's second season, then spent the next 11 as his eyes and ears along the offensive line.

Saturday played all 16 games for the Colts last year while Manning sat out the year with a neck injury.

But the Packers, according to a source, had an outstanding visit with Saturday, who dined with coach Mike McCarthy on Monday night and met with others on Tuesday. The Packers reportedly made a much better offer than the Broncos and Saturday felt compelled to take it.

and winter
Nothing wrong with winter, in fact I love winter. Most of my favorite activities are during winter. The sting of the cold against your flesh lets a person know they're alive. AE and I know how to put on a jacket and go have fun with it. He did have a particularly extreme winter so I'm sure there's been bouts of cabin fever this year ;) I say it's a small price to pay to live in one of the most beautiful places on the planet. That said, not everyone is a poontang when it comes to a bit of snow and cold.On topic: I wonder how much gas Saturday has left in the tank?

A vikings fan and you live in Alaska??? I see why you're so mad...
Why? I dont get it.
THAT'S why you're so mad.
Im mad? Im about to take a nap at 2pm on a work day. How "mad" could I be? Going to my folks later to watch March Madness and have halibut and salmon with garden potatos. Life is good.
Going to your folks only requires walking up their basement steps.

Wow, this thread really provides some great insight into how Saturday will impact the OL in GB.
-If he has anything left there should not be much of a drop from Wells to Saturday and maybe even improvement (but at that age, not looking for improvement).-Veteran presence should help the young guys around him and Lang and Sitton have been tweeting that they are excited to learn from him.-Experience in a very good no-huddle offense will help when the Packers run their version.-Packers play the AFC South this year...Saturday will bring knowledge of all 4 teams.

:goodposting: As long as Saturday remains healthy the Pack should see better pass protection. They should be all over attacking teams out of a no huddle. However, that unit has been very good at adapting to a ton of injuries and the subsequent position moves over the past two years. I've been amazed at how that unit always seem to overachieve. At the very least they're as good as last year, but I'm sure having a QB that has arguably the quickest release in the NFL helps a little. I can't stand it! ;)

Excellent observation.I like the contract length and value, especially compared to Wells. This could end up being a 1 year 4 million deal depending on the draft this coming year, if they get Konz or have a player they feel they can work with later on. A team like the Packers can't give players like Wells a 4 year 24 million deal. It does no good to keep wells if it loses you Matthews, Rodgers, or Jennings down the line.

Thing I read is they offered Wells 4 years around $16-17 million.
