John McCain (2 Viewers)

McCain's health was an issue. He was a POW for Pete's sake and had bouts with skin cancer. Dude couldn't even lift his arm above his shoulder and looked like he was made out of plastic in HD.

I'm no fan of Hillary, but she is not even close to the same health risk as McCain was.
None of those things strike me as severe health risks.

Thank you, doctor.

You're welcome.

Rip. You would have been a good president, too bad you went with Palin instead of going with your gut and choosing Lieberman

Palin as his VP was not just a problem because of any potential worries about his health.  It was an indictment of his judgement.  "Sure, Sarah Palin would make a fine VP and #1 in line for the presidency" isn't exactly the kind of decision making people want to see out of the guy who would have to make the most important decisions.

Happy 80th Birthday Johnnie!

Too bad people weren't ready to have a woman fill the Joe Biden role, you would have made a fine President.

Just an FYI for those that were afraid McCain would croak and leave the Presidency in the (capable) hands of Sarah Palin, he's still alive.

If you voted for Obama for this reason, shame on you.
At 70, Donald Trump is the oldest person ever elected US president, yet I never heard his age brought up as a factor (admission: I wasn't paying much attention).  Was it his hot young wife or his own youthful glow that caused people to ignore his age, or maybe the difference between Palin and Pence as a back-up actually made a difference?

The difference in this election was that there wasn't as big of an age gap between the two top of the ticket candidates.

I still don't know how Obama duped independents into thinking Palin was running for President instead of McCain, but bravo to that little greaseball.

Hillary was not well-placed to make an issue out of Trump's age.  Just like she wasn't well-placed to call him out for being corrupt or for his sexual harassment of women.

But fast forward to today, it's the republicans that have no policy or direction other than to vehemently and wildly denounce any and every speech, policy or decision coming from the White House or Congress (see Jim11). It's a ####### drag on this country for the republican "leadership" to simply denounce, denounce, denounce hoping the negativity starts to resonate with more Americans and they take it out on the incumbents (see the woman in Colorado crying about the Obama speech to schoolchildren). Obama was foolish to think that republicans would be open to any bi-partisanship on even one policy, because they know it has to be their strategy to never compromise. The republican party is a joke right now, devoid of any ideas or leadership of their own. It's too bad because it's the country that suffers as a result.
You literally could take this post, replace "Republican" with "Democrat" and "Bush" with "Obama" and it would have matched up perfectly with scores of posts from early 2005. I can never get over how short our memories are.
I think we'll be doing a reverse find and replace shortly.

North Korea threatens WAR with the US after Senator John McCain called despot Kim Jong-un a ‘crazy fat kid’

NORTH Korea is threatening all out war with the US after a top US senator dubbed their leader Kim Jong-un a “crazy fat kid”.

Senator John McCain made the inflammatory remarks while discussing the tyrant’s recent ballistic missile tests and his repeated threats to destroy the US.

In an interview on MSNBC, McCain called for action against cheese and wine-loving Kim before it is too late.

He said: “China is the only one that can control Kim Jong-un, this crazy fat kid that’s running North Korea. They could stop North Korea’s economy in a week.

“They haven’t, because the Chinese have to understand there’s a penalty… imposed by us if they don’t reign in an individual that can literally start a world war, and more importantly, perhaps in the short term, strike the United States of America.”

North Korea threatens WAR with US after Senator John McCain called despot Kim Jong-un ‘crazy fat kid’

But North Korea hit back in a statement released by government-controlled news agency KCNA saying: "What they uttered to dare hurt the dignity of the supreme leadership of the DPRK is just a manifestation of their worst hostility toward the DPRK's ideology and social system and its people and a grave provocation little short of declaration of war against it.

This is not the first time Kim has been stung about jibes about his weight.

As reported, North Korean diplomats have made a state request to officials in China pleading for them to stop referring to ‘glorious leader’ Kim Jong-un as FAT.

Ministers have reportedly asked their neighbours to refrain from referring to the chunky food fan as Jin San Pang or ‘Kim Fatty III’ in media or conversations.

Kim Jong-un has been piling on the pounds in the past year

North Korean scientists have revealed they have invented a cure for obesity - although clearly it Kim is either not taking it or it doesn't work.

The secretive state is also been lashing out at the US after it sent a missile system to South Korea.

Officials released a statement earlier this month warning Donald Trump it would reduce the US to ashes if America fires “even a single bullet”  towards capital Pyongyang.

North Korea state media shows four ballistic missiles fired into the sea in latest test launch

North Korea has continued testing nuclear weapons in a bid to develop their deadly intercontinental missile which could kill millions of Americans.

Meanwhile Japanese lawmakers are calling for new laws to allow Tokyo to launch preemptive strikes against an increasingly aggressive Kim Jong-un.

Last week Japan also began staging mass evacuation drills following yet more missile tests with the rockets landing off its coast.

Guy tried to say Rand is working for the Russians because of his Montenegro NATO vote.  Hang it up already you rotting carcass.

do you prefer the dailymail?
It's ok, man, it was a good post, just joshing you.

I think McCain is a an American hero and he looks after our national interests, he's a real patriot. 'NK reacts absurdly to....' has a long list of decent people attached to it.

I think McCain is an American hero as well. Not a fan of his as a politician , probably a lot has to do with Romney

I thought his thread was about a new Die Hard movie for a minute.   One of my favorite Christmas movie moments was when John McCain watched Hans Gruber fall off the building in the original.  That whole walking through glass bit seemed painful though.

Ok, I missed it, but McCain is showing up on my facebook feed.  What the heck happened??
He stumbled into a Senate hearing and was unable to meet up with a coherent thought.  Comey treated him like a doddering person to whom you show sadness-tinged kindness.

I liked McClain almost as much as Die Hard in that movie where he was a hit man and the Friends dentist guy.  R.I.P.
