Just missed section of Random Shots (1 Viewer)

@Joe Bryant, one of the things I truly enjoyed about your Random Shot articles of the past was the "just missed" section you always ended with.

This was 10-12 plays where a player just missed a TD or monster play. I actually found it useful. Any chance of bringing that back?

Thanks. That one was interesting as some liked it but some hated it. I sometimes hated it too as it emphasized the frustration and bad part of FF. But it's also part of the game!

I may look at it for the future years. Thanks for being part of Footballguys and I hope you have an awesome year.

I don’t want to link to another site on here, but if you go on /fantasyfootball on Reddit, a link is posted every week on players who got within 3 feet of the goal line and did not score on the same drive.

I liked it because it gave light to some players that maybe you couldn't watch on Sunday.
Fantasy football is about opportunities and it was nice seeing who just missed out on big (ger) games.

Yes. I can see value in that for another feature. It just didn't fit with the vibe of fun I'm doing with Random Shots.

I also like that part best. Yes, it was frustrating, but it also gave you hope and reassurance that it sometime simply is bad luck on not bad coaching on your part.

It ties directly into expected production which is a valuable tool to have in your pocket. I dont get to watch all my players in their games.

For example, knowing that someone's statline was 10 attempts 50 yards, BUT they were an inch from the end zone on one or two plays, gives me a far different opinion on their performance than had I not known that.

I dont get why people hate it. It's more, useful info for you to use going forward. What's there to hate?

Understood. Perhaps, in the future, it can become it's own thing to offer your subscribers.
Take care Joe

Thank you @Payne As always, I appreciate the feedback.

Whether it's in the column or not, I don't really care, it's all about whether you think it fits. But column aside, those near misses, to me that IS one of the fun things about fantasy football. Those plays that came within inches of shifting a ton of fantasy outcomes, it's one of those silly things that means.. not a lot in the actual game, but everything in fantasy. Is it painful when it's one of your guys, sure, but you benefit from them just as much!
