I've been saying that for a few days. Storm is still on track for a direct hit on NO. They're saying if the city flood even the Superdome field is going to be under water - hope they are ready to move almost 100,000 people up into the stands, boxes, and suites.

Well guys, I'm in Baton Rouge with my parents and my wife. We live in Slidell in apartments that are right near Lake Pontchatrain. My job, which I just started after the bar exam, is on Poydras St. in New Orleans in a high rise building. Looking like I may not be working for weeks. Got to be strong for the wife and my mom, but it's tough. Wish us luck.

He has poured concrete anchors with chains holding all four corners of this roof on. And it aint gonna jog anymore. New Orleans/Slidell are right in the path. :(

Yep. The path is not going to change much. I'm pretty much expecting that my wife and I will have nothing left other than the clothes on our back, seeing as our apartment is right on the lake in Slidell.

They dont bury the dead in NO - they are all above ground IIRC - the whole below sea level thing.

Ministry has passed along new of a decrease in wind speed.With luck, this could be the result of the northern hurricane bands going over the swampland south and southeast of the city. Open water sustains these storms. I am really hoping the sustained winds drop down into the 130s before the interior of the storm hits land.
