KC homers (1 Viewer)

Kolby Smith has a great matchup this week vs the Broncos...but T Damion McIntosh (knee) and T Kyle Turley (back) have not practiced this week (missing Wed, Thur AND Fri).

Generally, when a player doesn't practice on friday they don't play. This would be a huge blow to the KC running game.

Any KC homers have insight into this situation? If they can't go who starts at tackle and how negatively will it affect Kolby's production in your estimation?

Just found this report...

Kansas City Chiefs

UPDATED WEEK 14 INJURY/PRACTICE REPORT | RELEASED FRIDAY 7 DECEMBER 2007

INJURY REPORT

Out: RB Larry Johnson (foot), T Damion McIntosh (knee), T Kyle Turley (back)

Dang it...not good. First Bush and now this.

I don't know. My other option, with Bush out, would be K. Jones. So it's not too hard for me.

Den has given up 177 yds to LT and 139 yds to Fargas in the past 2 weeks...so he should find some running room...maybe just not as much.

I'm stuck with a similar situation...

Henry or Smith... Right now I am leaning towards Henry- he got me 2 scores last week with minimal carries... figure he can build on that.

I think you should sit Smith this week if you have better options. I figure he'll get somewhere between 70-80 yards, no scores...

I've been debating rather or not to start Smith. Playing both AD and Chester Taylor could be a better option

Yeah,I was planning on starting Bush but so much for that....Now I'm trying to decide between Smith,Fargas or Dayne......Leaning towards Smith but Dayne actually looks decent as T-Bay has allowed 9 rushing td's this year........GLTA this weekend in the playoffs

As I'm reading this thread I'm thinking "hmmmm, maybe I should bench Kolby and pair Taylor with ADP", and then BAMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM, someone else posts the same thing. I'm tempted to do this but with the playoffs on the line I think I have to roll with the guy who should get the much bigger workload.

You have to start Kolby Smith vs the AWFUL Broncos rush D. Missing the tackles will hurt a lot but Herm will find a way to make him produce...

Not a KC homer but I don't think it hurts Kolby Smith nearly as much as it would if McIntosh/Turley were good in the first place.

I'm in a TD heavy scoring league so its much more important that my choice scores a TD rather than getting 80,90 or 100 yards rushing....now I just have to figure out if Smith,Dayne or Fargas has that best chance of finding the end zone

In their first meeting, Holmes failed to crack the 70 yard mark... In fact, I think the Cheifs as a team didn't rush for 100+ yards...

And that was when they had both their tackles healthy!!

Granted, Holmes is more than 10 years older than Smith, but you're only as good as your blockers... and if those blockers couldn't give Priest room when they were healthy, imagine what Kobly gets when they're sitting out

Regardless of the blockers....if you watched Priest play in that game you would have saw a guy who made a couple of cuts but basically went down at first contact. Kolby has regularly gained 2-3 yards after the first contact and I expect to see a lot of Kolby in this game.

Sorry I did not see this sooner....

A 2nd year kid named Will Svitek is starting @ LT. KC took him as a 6th round DT out of Standford, who they then converted to OT. Guy has a mean streak a mile long but footwork like Homer Simpson.

I would put Smith around RB 22-28 today.
