Keller, Prater - my sleeper picks (1 Viewer)

I am targeting Keller and Prater in last few rounds of my draft. I like what I am hearing about Keller

and Favre brings more value to the table. I like Prater for the young leg and thin Denver air :D

Where (if anywhere) are you seeing these guys going in your drafts?

Thanks & good luck to everyone drafting this weekend!

Both went in the 37th round in our family draft..........Keller was taken by my 9 year old daughter and my 6 year old son picked Prater on the very next pick. I guess they are reading the FootballGuys.com forum again and saw your thread! Hmmmm......I thought I had it blocked along with my porn sites.

(ok, I can't do witty so i settled for pseudo)

I'm considering picking up Keller. From what I hear he is a great receiver, and adding Favre probably increases his targets.

Here's some rookie TE seasons:

Shannon Sharpe: 7 rec 99yds 1 TD

Antonio Gates: 24/389/2

Tony Gonzales: 33/368/2

Dallas Clark: 29/340/1

Jason Witten: 35/347/1

Kellen Winslow: 25/255/2

Kellen Winslow Jr: 5/50/0

Ozzie Newsome: 38/589/2

Todd Christensen: 0/0/0

To be fair, J.Shockey had his best yardage season as a rook (74/894/2), but most TEs do little as rookies no matter how good they are. Even Shockey only scored twice. Keller has to deal with the fact that the Jets have Bubba Franks and Chris Baker - two guys with a lot of starting experience and far better blocking skills.

All great points -- thanks for the insight.

they seem to be playing keller more as a h back then a TE so I dont think the brady/franks impact is a huge deal...I think keller is a great pick if you disregard the te position early and just swing for the fences late at that position....

prater...no clue

I just finished a draft and did not draft a kicker, why waste the roster spot when one can be picked up anytime between now and week 1?

Pierre Thomas > any kicker

Because not all leagues play with the same rules as you.Roster requirements and costs to drop/add players are a couple of good reasons to draft a kicker.

If that's the case then pick your favorite one in the last round - preferably one on a good (but not great) offense that has a later bye week - if your league rewards longer FG's try for one with a 50+ yd leg. Regardless, no reason to draft a kicker before the last round, ever.

Agreed on the K part. 2nd year in a row I didn't draft one. I'd much rather hold extra RBs or WRs until week 1 when I have to drop someone. I picked up Bironas last year for the playoff stretch and he was as good as anyone else.
