Kitna's trade value? (1 Viewer)

specifically redraft, but i'm sure with the bye weeks behind us, people in all leagues would like to know. i'm rocking McNabb as my QB1, so Kitna's on the block. what have you been able to get (or pay) for him?

I don't think youll get true value for Kitna. If I where you, I would trade McNabb, you'll get more and the #'s should be close for the rest of the year, plus Kitna plays inside in the winter. You should be able to better your team on that path.

i've thought of that, but i heart mcnabb. i'd trade him, but the offer would have to be pretty outstanding. will probably have to pursue this avenue though.

i like this advice... it would take serious stones to pull the trigger, but if you could get a really good return for mcnabb, it may put you over the top.

I'm in the exact same situation (McNabb & Kitna) and have been mulling this over for a week now. Just can't seem to find a good fit out there. I've tried to get teams interested in Kitna but haven't been able to get anyone interested, despite a few teams out there needing better QB production. My league's trade deadline is Sunday morning, so I doubt I'll find any takers between now and then.

:goodposting: I like this move a lot. The only real threat to Kitna (barring a freak injury) is the off chance that he gets benched as the Lions look to evaluate their youth at QB when Detroit is inevitably eliminated from the playoffs.I'd look to trade McNabb and another player for a solid backup QB to Kitna and a nice upgrade at that "another player" position. The name value of McNabb will garner you much more in return than Kitna.

if there was a hot rookie on the team like a leinart or a cutler, maybe... but there's no one overly promising there, and why mess with anything, now that it's obvious the offense is starting to jell?normally i'd be afraid of that possibility, but i can't see it in this case, barring some really "stink up the joint" play from kitna.

I also have the Mcnabb/Kitna combo and gave up on trying to deal Kitna. I think other teams are turned off by him not being a big game and they are failing to look at his numbers. The other problem I have is most teams dont' really need a QB and that problem was made worse when QB needy teams were able to pick up guys like Romo and Seneca Wallace the past few weeks. I've considered trading Mcnabb as well but here's the problem with dealing him, everyone assumes he can't keep it up and they don't want to give what I think is proper value. My take on that is he's played the majority of games without his 1A or 1B WR, Donte Stallworth, and I feel there is reason to think he can keep it up.

I think Kitna is the starter for the next 2-3 years. He was brought in, along w/ Martz, to bring some life to pathetic but historic franchise. Lots of offense = butts in seats @ home games. If you are in a dynasty, I would worry about Martz going for a HC position somewhere like Cleveland in the next year or 2. I think this team is only a player or two away from being a contender. No, I'm not a Lions Fan, just a fan of Martz in fantasy respects.

Add me to the list of McNabb/Kitna owners.

I've had Kitna on the block for 2 weeks. The only offer I got was Reuben Droughns, who at best would be my RB4. There are teams in my league starting some real bad QBs too. I was all over the Hasselcrack owner, but he got a QB gift from another stupid owner.

I considered offering McNabb, but he is just too hot right now. I can't risk losing his 3 TDs/game. Unless another top QB goes down, I am likely stuck having 2 stud QBs.

I have Peyton, Kitna and Grossman. Can't seem to move either Kitna or Grossman in a 12 team league. I keep pointing out that Kitna is 7th among QB scoring but it hasn't impressed anyone yet. Apprently he is not putting his number in a flashy enough way. *shrug*

Kitna is most likely a hold in most leagues, and you should try to move another QB on your roster who is comparable. He's producing way better than expected. Just reap the rewards of drafting him in a late round -- he's far exceeded expectations.

Due to serious QB issues (Roethlisberger and Leftwich) I contacted another owner who had after week 5 who had Grossman, Brees, Kitna, and Leinart (taxi) and asked him who he'd be willing to trade. He said Kitna.

I gave 2007 2nd rounder

for

Kitna (will be a RFA)

2007 3rd rounder

I think I got a steal there! :excited:

The only problem is I'll need to decide whether to put my franchise tag on either Kitna or Aaron Kampman after the season since both their contracts are up in my dynasty league.

His TD to INT ratio is what people why away from. Put the guys on pace for 4300 yards 20+ tds, league leader in completions. he was a solid round 13 draft pick for me.

FWIW no one wants him in my leagues.

I don't understand it, I need help at other positions but I'll just sit tight with him.

I'm happy with he and Hasselbeck (when he returns) the rest of the way. A few weeks back I tried shopping him for Carson Palmer in a package deal and the guy didnt want him.

Its all about name recognition, which is why Donald Driver is always around later than he should be in drafts.

Unless it's Manning or McNabb, this is a near impossible year to trade a QB. There's 10 other Jon Kitna's out there, and everyone who doesn't have Peyton or Donovan have roughly the same output at QB. I have Brady and Kitna, and was looking to deal Brady before our deadline and couldn't move him, even to a team that had Carr and Delhomme.
