KN95 masks for kids? (1 Viewer)

Having trouble finding reasonably priced KN95 masks for kids and school starts in a couple weeks.  Seeing lots of KF94 and and M95c, although I haven't much paid attention to the pricing on those, as I'm assuming those are not sufficient.

Anyone have a decent source?

I went through this process (for myself) last year and came to the conclusion that KF94s were a better bet than KN95s because they were both equally effective, but the Korean ones had a better guarantee of quality. There don't seem to be many cheap KF94 knockoffs floating around on Amazon

Oh, and my most recent purchase was these bad boys: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08QG7WS23

Last year I bought these, which were OK but didn't have adjustable straps, so when they left gaps on either side I had to buy band extenders to go around the back of my head and correct the problem. The ones I just bought are adjustable (although they fit me perfectly as is).

The other mistake I made last time was believing that they weren't reusable. As long as you air them out properly between uses, they should be fine. I bought a 10-pack so it will be weeks before I have to reuse an individual mask. Just store them somewhere where they're well ventilated (but where no one is touching them).

I was actually going to ask that question for the N95 crowd. I saw on the package of the ones I ordered it said may be worn multiple times. So you're saying you just hang it up between uses? How do you judge when it's time to replace? Length of time worn? Number of wearings?

I don't have any expertise beyond what I found via Google, but there are tons of servicey articles on the topic. The main point is that the filtration doesn't degrade over time, so you should be able to use a mask until it physically falls apart (eg, strap breaks or it gets torn). As far as storage, it sounds like you just want them somewhere they'll be exposed to air (and ideally sunlight), so that any virus particles on there will die off. But if I'm going weeks between usage, I'm not particularly worried about that.
