Where did you see this?Learned something new. Helicopters like this can’t just stop and ride straight up, they need to continue forward like a plane.
Long story short the pilot flew into the mountain.

Fake. Idiots trying to profit off old video of a crash in the UAE.There is cell phone footage of the crash. Very much wish I hadn't watched that.
That’s certainly a possibility. The story behind the video that i saw is that the helicopter went down basically in the backyard of a friend of one of the girls that I work with, and either he or one of his neighbors filmed it. However, I have no way of knowing if that’s legit or not.Fake. Idiots trying to profit off old video of a crash in the UAE.
I doubt this. The sheriff said that responders had to go off-road to reach the crash site. The story behind the video that i saw is that the helicopter went down basically in the backyard of a friend of one of the girls that I work with, and either he or one of his neighbors filmed it.
I dont wanna get a banning so ill take it easy but that guy is a awful person. I saw him 20+ years ago at a comedy show and he was awful. His entire act was just a stream of racist jokes, dropping the N word all night long. Never liked him.
I don’t know why they crash, but it sure seems like helicopters do so more often than planes. Living in Hawaii, I can remember multiple helicopter crashes in the last decade, but only one plane. I always tell visitors to skip the heli-tours.Had the same thought. Lose visibility, call to clear room above you and climb until you can see.
And for those saying planes are safer with an engine failure, that's not true. Helicopters are made to be able to land in an engine failure. You never hear of them just dropping out of the air.
Part of this is confirmation bias, but planes are generally safer. Part of the problem here is the lack of statistics about helicopter flights. This article has some good info.I don’t know why they crash, but it sure seems like helicopters do so more often than planes. This is one of my favorite YouTube channels and has some very informed commenters.
Sounds like a combination of poor decisions and bad luck with just how bad it got. We have all made poor and/or reckless decisions, but when mixed with bad luck stuff like this happens.
I don't know the first thing about helicopter flight plans, but whomever cleared them for VFR needs to go under the microscope. If that is pilot's discretion in a helicopter, then so be it. Very avoidable tragedy.Sounds like a combination of poor decisions and bad luck with just how bad it got. Until we know all the facts it's hard to say for sure and I'm no expert for sure. Seems like weather played a part in the crash. Sometimes it's just better to punt.Very avoidable tragedy.
We have ATC tracks and an eye witness(es) that lines up. There's no real thought that there was a mechanical. Guy got lost and went into a mountain in the fog.Until we know all the facts it's hard to say for sure and I'm no expert for sure. Seems like weather played a part in the crash. You are saying Kobe’s family will be sued??And now his family is going to have to deal with an abundance of lawsuits. Guaranteed that will happen. Not saying those families shouldnt sue (cause they should), but that's really gonna add insult to injury for the wife and the rest of the family.
why? He made them get on the helicopter? And now his family is going to have to deal with an abundance of lawsuits. Guaranteed that will happen. Not saying those families shouldnt sue (cause they should), but that's really gonna add insult to injury for the wife and the rest of the family.
My nephew said spatial disorientation is one of the worst things that can happen up there. Very scary and the passengers would likely know something was wrong. We have ATC tracks and an eye witness(es) that lines up. There's no real thought that there was a mechanical. Guy got lost and went into a mountain in the fog.
The only real question is who gave the special vfr clearance, or if that's just something you can take as a helicopter.
Pretty obviously, yeah. Kobe's estate. You are saying Kobe’s family will be sued??
Why? Seems pretty freaking far from obvious to me.Pretty obviously, yeah. Kobe's estate.
Was he flying it? How is any of this his fault other then he has money.Pretty obviously, yeah. Kobe's estate.
What? And now his family is going to have to deal with an abundance of lawsuits. Guaranteed that will happen. Not saying those families shouldnt sue (cause they should), but that's really gonna add insult to injury for the wife and the rest of the family.
There would be lawsuits if they were flying in perfect conditions.why? He made them get on the helicopter?
he has money.
These two certainly paint the picture.
You have no idea what you’re talking about. Yeesh. There would be lawsuits if they were flying in perfect conditions.
This, combined with flight communications and radar seems to relate to decisions on VFR/IFR and trying to a avoid the nearby airports’ traffic, resulting flying into the mountain at 150 knots. There doesn’t seem to be any reports of engine trouble except for how low they were flying.
People sue for much less. You have no idea what you’re talking about. Yeesh.
Clearly.Question. Who's owned the helicopter? Who was flying the helicopter?
I am not sure of either.
Why is this clown doing this outside the Hornets arena? Just trolling for attention.
I am pretty familiar with how lawsuits work man. Nobody is suing the man who didn’t own the plane and didn’t crash it. He has no liability.People sue for much less.
Doesnt mean anyone WINS any of the suits.
If a guy owns a helicopter and takes people up in dangerous conditions and crashes, killing everyone, that person is probably liable for damages. You also said there “should “ be lawsuits. Please expand.
I could be wrong but I thought Kobe did own the HelicopterI am pretty familiar with how lawsuits work man. Nobody is suing the man who didn’t own the plane and didn’t crash it. He has no liability.
I have heard he owned it and/or was flying it. If neither is true then yeah, obviously no lawsuits.I am pretty familiar with how lawsuits work man. Nobody is suing the man who didn’t own the plane and didn’t crash it. He has no liability.
That’s not what I read.I could be wrong but I thought Kobe did own the Helicopter
He was in town for a show. What a #######.Why is this clown doing this outside the Hornets arena? Just trolling for attention.
Seems people have read lots of different thingsThat’s not what I read.
I did say I could be wrong and even if he did I don't see how he is at faultThat’s not what I read.
