Last Chance to Get Brandon Jackson Cheap/Free (1 Viewer)

Brandon Jackson has average measurables (speed, size, etc) but has terrible running instincts. You can look at my packer tag all you want but the reality is that he is only a decent pickup if you are dealing with big injury issues.

1. Please keep league specific comments in the Assistant Coach forum as this kind of information is useless.

2. That is a terrible trade, so when you go to the Assistant Coach forum, I recommend not mentioning it.

Regards,

THE FANTASY KING
Ummm... the ACF is for asking for advice on trades, or for help with WDIS questions. That guy wasn't asking for advice on a trade he made 4 weeks ago. He was merely posting it to provide some background- you know, just like you posted that you used to run a fantasy football forum to provide some background.I have no problem with people playing Board Police, but before you correct someone else, it's usually best to first make sure you're right.

I appreciate the effort, TFK, but I think Brandon Jackson is a below average RB.
:lmao: Brandon Jackson has been beaten out by Ryan Grant, DeShawn Wynn, Vernand Morency, and is now splitting time with a fullback. He had a great game, but he still is a lousy RB.
Yeah. Brandon Jackson got cut by the Green Bay Packers and wound up signing with the Saints this past offseason. Oh, wait, no, that was DESHAWN WYNN who was cut by the Packers. Geez, that's funny, why would the Packers cut Deshawn Wynn and not Brandon Jackson after Deshawn Wynn had beaten out Brandon Jackson?

wonder why you had only 12 to 15 people.

those family members coming to the shark pool too?
I do not want to shift the topic to managing internet websites, but I will say that whatever the reasons were I did not succeed, lack of fantasy knowledge was not one of them. If you want to know any more than that you can PM me.I do have a cousin that posts here.

Regards,

THE FANTASY KING
King: Your approach to posts is keeping me entertained. Just be a bit less concerned about your "Crown" and more so with your concepts and people might have a less gastric response. If you stay on this course, to pull it off, you have to come a lot stronger than the recent posts about Finley and BJAX. I actually think you can do it.

Maybe it is just me, but did it ever occur to anyone that his board didn't go anywhere because he gave bad advice?

At first i found this guy/kid a bit annoying, but now i feel sorry for him. This thread is on its way to locksville.

"epiphany", "THE FANTASY KING", "my community".I'm all for voicing opinion... but that condescending BS, is over the top offensive. Don't step up with news from 4 weeks ago regarding a guy who has shown extremely limited potential to excel in a very productive offense. I too had high hopes for Jackson, but reality set in, and ditched him for what THE KING refers to as a "terrible trade".. don;t feel bad for the guy. He dropped a deuce in the grass and should expect people to get pissed when they step in it.

Despite the schtick, I think the OP was pretty good. At this point in the year it's about finding buy low values and Jackson certainly represents an opportunity to buy low. Would it be better if the King made a similar post about Frank Gore or something? He might be right/wrong regarding Jackson, but I give him credit for sticking his neck out and giving reasonable facts to support his opinion.

Wow.... The guy is just offering his perspective. This is a DISCUSSION board about offering perspectives and insight in regards to fantasy football. If you disagree with the OP, do it in a kind and debating manner, I see no reason for the borderline insulting and rude replies to this guy's thread. If you agree with his assessment, thank him, and use it in your league, if you disagree, either ignore the thread or post a kind argument against the opinion.

I'm shocked by some of the replies here.

+1

Jackson is worhtless , he wont top 75 yds again for the rest of the season ..
weeks 12-15, he plays such defense juggernauts as 12. Falcons13. Niners14. Lions15. Patriotshe's worth a flyer for the Lions game alone, as that is usually the first round of fantasy playoffs..I think he approaches 100 yards this week against a suspect Miami run defense..

Because he did so well against the Lions at home the first time right?Look, I wanted him to do well, I thought he would get 15-20 carries. But, he is not for a few reasons.1. Mike McCarthy. Now, this could change given the injuries and the fact that he is getting slammed all over the place for barely running the ball even when its effective. But this is nothing new. He has given up on the run all too often during his time in GB, even when Grant is running well he goes pass happy in the 2nd half far too often.2. Brandon Jackson is simply not that good. He is a good 3rd down/receiving back and nothing more.Yes...he has the opportunity still...but thus far he had done little with that opportunity until last week.

Why is this a good posting?Your telling me this thread is a worthy thread with tons of insight?

TFK:

Please do not be put off by the numerous jackwagons who are ridiculing you. They may not agree with your original post, but they also apparently feel the need to do this to you and want to be perceived as clever and funny.

I'll take ANY discussion thread so that we can analyze players and maybe hear and consider something new.

Thanks for your post.

Maybe it is, maybe it isn't. But when guys take the thread off course with ridicule comments, then the thread has a far less likely chance that insightful discussion will occur.

There have been more responses from this thread, than the total of the op's failed forum. That said, I think it is reasonable we haven't seen all of BJAX to make A final call on him. People jumped on his bandwagon, thenm cut him 1 or 2 weeks later. Yeah....he isn't going to be a stud, but he will get opportunities, especially if he can be had for peanuts. The Packers like to throw it....I do recall Ryan Grant would have games similar to this. He only had 3 100 yard games last year. So the advice the OP is reasonable, even if he comes off as A pompous ###.

A couple things...

No one likes condescension or self-aggrandizing.

Try a post with thoughts or ideas minus the giant ego that is out of place.

STOP SIGNING YOUR POSTS. Silliest thing ever. We can all see who it is. You are not so important that you need to announce to us your name.

Interesting post delivered in an entertaining way. With bye weeks upon us, BJax may definitely be on some waiver wires. I know I could get him extremely cheap in a trade. I have both JStew and Spiller, both of whom I wouldn't trade for Jackson (redraft). Now I'm starting to rethink it. Maybe I should toss an offer out there.

you know whose FREE with just as much upside?

James Starks.

Same Risk. Higher Upside. FREE! We've already seen what jackson can do which isnt much.

I wonder if THE FANTASY KING is the same person who created the Phil McRevis username that annoyed people so much a month or so ago?

They have the same sense of self-importance and annoying method of posting, plus this guy appeared at about the same time that the Phil username stopped posting.

Just an observation.

Switz is referring to Jackson's rookie year when everyone had him slated as the Packers' featured back the day they drafted him. Everyone he has on that list did beat out BJax and he's lucky there wasn't anyone else on the roster because he would have lost to them as well.

Why is it so bad to call someone out on an obnoxious gimmick?

Brandon Jackson is going to be the type of player who continually gets picked up and dropped throughout the season. He has opportunity but compare him to other possible cheap trade options and he isn't really worth much.

Well some of those players beat him out because of injury (Game 3.) By the time he was healthy again he had lost his job to Grant. He was awful before that time though so he really didn't help his cause.

BUMP FOR THE FANTASY KING
Seeming very LHUCKSISH.

I think I think something, but I'm not going to give specifics. That way I can fail miserably at trying to spin it in my favor when it blows up in my face

 in other words... guys, this is your chance to jump on Roethlesburger before he blows up. After this week his price is goin UP UP UP !

First we have Otis and his flock of Turkeys giving advice and now the fantasy king.

This is to much information for the shark pool

The Ochocinco owner in my league had grown tired of his poor games and needed a back this week - when I receiver an offer of Ocho for Jackson this past Wednesday could not click "accept" quick enough.

wow, glad to see you here TFK! I didn't mind paying for this type of info over at your site, but am happy I can now get it for free! Keep up the good work, King.

Oh, well in that case, why on earth would anyone want to add Miles Austin? He's been beaten out by Sam Hurd, Patrick Crayton, and Roy E. Williams. I mean, sure, he was a young player still learning the game at the time, and he's come back to beat out all of those guys now, but at one point in time the Dallas Cowboys preferred SAM HURD to Miles Austin, and this is apparently totally relevant information today.

Is TFK your alias SSOG?
Quick rule of thumb going forward. If someone makes a bold prediction and winds up being right, then he was one of my aliases. If someone makes a bold prediction and winds up being wrong, then I don't know whose alias he was, but it was probably LHUCKS. :lmao:

I think if the thread turned into a friendly debate about Fantasy King's suggestion about Brandon Jackson like it should have, it would have been a very insightful thread. It is the rude, obnoxious, and UN-insightful replies that made it a bad thread.I honestly think what hurts the forum (ironically) are the whiny replies to every thread complaining how pointless and unusable they are which then morphs every thread into a heated argument that is thrown completely off of the main subject matter which, in turn, renders the thread useless. It is not the starting topic that always makes the thread what it is, it is the collective discussion about the topic that makes it insightful. I think the rude people who judge every thread and throw it off course should be banned, not the kind person willing to share their perspective. For the record.. I like his closing statement on each post. What's wrong with being unique?

Just curious- do you wear a crown around your house with THE FANTASY KING emblazed along the frontIf so do you think you make me one as well- large please (big head) I will PM you my address in the Assistant Coaches forum
:lmao: ....All hail the fantasy football king!!! Whos this brandon jackson character you speak of anyhow?Man you sure know the obscure stuff, maybe you can guest star on the audible next week!!Just call up cecil and impress him with your amazing knowledge...but seriously...Brandon Jackson is nothing more than a 3rd down back. He is TERRIBLE at running between the tackles. the only reason he is on the roster is because he has DECENT hands and is alright after the catch and a solid bocker. Nothing to see here folks close this thread! Regards,Wiscstlatlmia

Don't belittle a poster who made a well thought out post. If you don't agree with it fine, but go buy some class and learn some manners.

That's irrelevant. He made a beautifully written post with great prose, the overall point may be debatable, but the quality of his post is not.
