Lebron James will never win a championship... (2 Viewers)

How can he live with himself? All that post-game talk about the team playing hard and #### is just talk to be a nice guy and get endorsements, and it's great that he makes the effort to do that, but damn, you know when he goes home, he's thinking "I just single handedly beat one of the best teams in the NBA, in the finals, in game 5, on their court. I hit shots with guys all over me, time running down. I hit fadeaways, dunked to tie the game, I even had a sweet behind the back dribble, pull-up shot at the top of the key. DAMN I'M GOOD!"

How on earth can a person live with himself knowing he's that good? I get a big head when I get a two base hits in a game of softball. This guy rules professional basketball.

With guys like Pavlovic and Valero behind James it makes me revere the guy even more.

FIGJAM. At least he could justify it.

rules pro ball? just wait until he loses his next game at home and drops to a 1 on THE clutchness scale.he'll be nothing more than a footnote in the NBA record books. all stats, no rings.

BTW, I got myself in trouble with the fiance...

Created an impromptu rap song:

I'm the Lebron James of ####in'!

48 Points ain't Nothin'!

Sang it too loud and woke up the baby. Then I got pissy because I didn't think my fiance properly recognized the lyric nor its delivery. God bless great sporting events and :goodposting: .

That's one of the reasons I like him so much. He's never acted like he thought he was better than everyone else. Amazing at any age but even more so at his age. You're the man LBJ. You're the man. :goodposting:

:goodposting: I'd say I counted myself as an official fan of Lebron after hearing a post game interview with him in last year's playoffs. He was gracious, humble and wise far beyond his years and I believed that it was sincere and not merely words he said because he thought it was what should be said. He's a tremendous talent and person.

From Yandek's interview with LeBron:

CY: How are you? If the NBA age rule was in effect and you couldn't have gone straight to the NBA from high school, where would you have gone to college and why?

LeBron: I would have gone to Syracuse because a winner wants to win.
Lebron plus Melo would have meant automatic 3peat
LeBron + Melo + G Mac + Hakim = 34-0 + movies and books made about the magic season
As long as they could play with 3 balls out there... you know someone would have had a hissy fit...Gotta find 25 mins plus for Forth and Duany :goodposting:
Duany would have graduated, but add Pace in the mix. Also Nipsey is that a real interview, I could have sworn he was thinking OSU? We would have 5-peated if him and Anthony had stayed all 4 years. And No.16, 10 out of 10 on the idiot scale

I dunno, I think he could say, after tonight, that it wasn't much of a team effort, and he more or less single handedly provided the win, especially from mid-4th quarter on. To me, I'm glad to hear him acknowledge his teammates, but cmon...lebron did this. The rest of his team were simply decoys on offense for 2 overtimes and the second half of the 4th quarter. They did play defense though, I guess that's somethin.

:lmao: This is the guy who's gonna get me back into watching the NBA again. Outstanding. Thank you Lebron. :own3d:
:goodposting: Agreed. That was insanity. I felt like I was watching a video game. The one where the computer starts cheating against you, hits everyshot, and has a stream of fire following his ball. That was fun to watch.

Well here's a good place to see the power of good leadership. I am a Laker fan and Kobe was my god prior to when he let me down as a person come the cheating and possible rape. I felt like a kid I was let down by his character so badly. And then the lack of humility and a sense of accountability, coupled with arrogance, made me feel dissonance in routing for him. But Lebron, that guy brings every bit of the determination that Kobe does without an ounce of the bull####. His leadership comes both from doing and by selfishness. He realizes that a team is necessary to win and he constantly looks to pump up his teammates mentally even when he sometimes must carry them physically. That translates to an edge in the long-term. And how come I don't think we're ever going to see Lebron in a drug scandal or betting on games or raping someone? Guy is a modern day hero worth  .

I hope you're right, but he's only human. Young, world at his feet, and riding high at the moment. It'd be a miracle if he stays clean, even if he's a good guy like you want to believe. I want to believe it too, but it's almost too rare of a thing to expect, such talent, youth and wisdom to be in one person. I just hope his indiscretions stay private.

"Where have you gone Joe DiMaggio?"

Please Jesus never let me start a thread this dumb. I'm sticking with Star Wars double-entendres, no grand sports proclamations from me.

What James is doing is even more unbelievable when you consider that his coach is a stooge and the team around him is pretty average.

Yeah if he could manage to win the championship I'm pretty sure that would vault him to legend status immediately. Has anyone ever won a ring with that bad a supporting staff?

The '88 Dodgers keep coming to mind for some reason. That team was pretty much Hershisher, pray for rain for 4 days, then Orel again. Other than that, I got nothin'.

One-legged Kirk Gibson is still better than any of these spares.

Good god, you're being generous.
Seriously. If you took Lebron out and put in a replacement-level player, that's a 10-win team.
 :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:
True enough--Larry Hughes could get that team to 12 or 13 wins, easy.
Definitely.I may have been a bit flippant with the 10-win comment, but let's just say they'd be holding a prime ping-pong ball in last week's lottery.

Detroit was out coached. How Flip has a job is beyond me.
out coached? really?I don't think the Cavs coach deserves much credit for the win. all he did was know enough to stay out of Lebron's way.
Out coached YES REALLY. A coaches job is to put your team in the best position to win. Mike did that. No need to be fancy. Give LeBron the ball until Detroit stops it. Detroit was slow with double over and over again.

That was one of the most dominant performances I have ever seen. Can't say anything about his game tonight. Didn't want to check this thread until after the game... but LBJ's clutchness is rising... I'll bump him up to a 8.25 out of 10 on THE clutchness scale. If he finishes off the Pistons he'll get a full 9 out of 10 on the clutchness scale.... if they lose the series to the Pistons... then he goes all the way back down to a 3. Even if they win too bad they'll get bent over by the Spurs. Then by the time TD and Parker are out of the Championship picture... Mr. LBJ say hello to Greg Oden, Brandon Roy, and the Blazers and the Deron William/Boozer Jazz. If I remember the topic was "LBJ will never win a championship" and he still hasn't.
I'm really enjoying this guy.

If Lebron can beat the Spurs with his anemic supporting cast, it will be one of the greatest achievements in NBA history, as far as I'm concerned.

True, but considering how much the Spurs tried to beat up Steve Nash (headbutt to the nose, kick in the nuts, Horry's cheap shot), they will likely attempt to do the same thing to James, IF the Cavs get to the Finals.

BTW, I estimate about a 10% probability that this will actually happen.

How about 0% unless Joey Crawford refs the series then you can give the Cavs 10%.

Yeah, the coach had a lot to do with that. :goodposting: When LeBron goes 3-13 the homers like you are all over the coach.
Not a homer. Huge NBA fan. Flip sucks as a coach. Detroit was slow with the double. An aliases calling me a homer.

bravo Lebron bravo

performance was a big FU to all his haters (including me sometimes)

GREAT PERFORMANCE TONIGHT KID

Didn't get to watch the game since they don't show the NBA much in Europe.

I remember hearing stories (and watching film) of Magic Johnson playing center in place of Kareem in the 1980 Finals and dropping 42 points, 15 boards and 7 dimes in a position he'd never really played before.

To me, that and Jordan's performance in one of the games against Barkley back in '93 (I forget the exact details, but it really seemed like a force of will for him in that game) are the best I've ever seen.

How does this one rank?
