Lendale's shoulder still an issue? (HOMERS) (1 Viewer)

PER CBS:

News: Titans RB LenDale White (shoulder) did not practice Wednesday as the team prepares for Week 5 at Baltimore. White dealt with the same injury leading up to Week 4 against the Vikings, but was active and scored a touchdown for a fourth straight game.

Analysis: White has yet to break 60 yards in a game this season, but has five touchdowns. Rookie Chris Johnson is stealing a lot of his thunder, but not down by the goal line. The Ravens own a tough run defense, so consider White a No. 3 Fantasy RB or 'flex' option Week 5. He is expected to play

As an owner with little depth at RB...(and bye weeks kicking in) in a TD heavy league, I am not able to find much on Lendale the last day or two. Any info/concern? - thanks!

Pretty sure he'll play, but risky starting him against the Raven D. May want to try to get Najeh Davenport off WW instead, he'd probably have better chances this week than LenDale.

sometimes coaches will hold players out of wednesday practice as a precautionary measure. I wouldn´t read too much into it unless he misses or is limited today or tomorrow.

maybe there is an issue with Len Dale's shoulder...source:kffl

--RB LenDale White: Jim Wyatt, of the Tennessean, reports Tennessee Titans RB LenDale White (shoulder) did not participate in practice Thursday, Oct. 2. His status for Week 5 is uncertain.

I don't like this advice, I disagree. It's cool, we'll see how it plays out

This is a thunder and lightning type backfield. Lendale does the dirty work and Chris cleans up.I don't think Lendale's stats are going to change too much. I think they have a sound plan and Ds are having alot of trouble with it(also due to their D). The combo of their D and the running duo has allowed Kerry to throw something like 8? 7? 6? 4th quarter passes this year. The plan is working perfectly.

Extremely helpful perspective - too bad it doesn't even remotely address the post you quoted.

I understood "but was active and scored a TD for 4th straight game" and "yet to break 60...but has 5 TDs" to mean he was looking for more from Lendale. I don't imagine anything changing causing a spike in Lendale's #s, WYSIWYG.Also, I'm not concerned with the Ravens and those numbers. In that role, that simple short pound it in to just get a couple yards, the D doesn't matter too much. Any D would be fine holding a RB to 2. If the quality D were to affect a RB it'd be Johnson IMO. He's the one setup to gain more. The Titans played in especially miserable weather, against a (then) healthy Jags D, and against Minny's very good DL. Is Demeco Ryans better than Ray Lewis at this point? It hasn't been easy to run, it's not getting any easier this week but, it's probably fairly normal to them thus far this year. Also, their O-line is very good and extremely well coached by Munchak.Despite the Fatdale and Lenwhale comments of guys poking fun at Lendale, he's one tough sonofagun. He played thru his share of aches last year. As long as it sounds "nagging" like the shoulder does, I wouldn't worry about him. It seems if he gets some rest, he's good to go.

His decent play last year while fighting through the knee problem helped convince me to concede and draft him as my 3rd RB. That coupled with the word that he came into camp in better shape this year had me thinking that perhaps LenDale might display a 2nd gear this season and improve his YPC. To my dismay, he's running at a full yard per carry LESS than last year (2.7) and is clearly the 2nd option to the rookie. The TD's are salvaging his value but it's difficult to believe that well won't run dry eventually. Has he peaked? I hope not.... but it might take an injury to C. Johnson for him to get # of carries he needs to get respectable yards.

Lendale's only issue is his huge gut and complete lack of speed.

He will get upgraded. If you are in a re-draft league, you might be ok with him for the rest of this year, but I wouldn't trade for him.

If you are in a dynasty league TRADE HIM RIGHT NOW.

A big part of the reason why he's running at 1 yard less per carry is Chris Johnson and the way Lendale's being used with CJ there. You aren't going to have a good ypc average if a big proportion of your carries are coming inside the 5-yard line. Fortunately, the TD's are coming, and they would appear to be a relatively regular event given the offense's consistency with Collins at QB, and assuming Lendale's healthy. Right now I'm far more concerned about Lendale's health than I am about his yards per carry. He's a solid RB2 with the numbers he's put up through 4 weeks.

I own both of these guys in a Dynasty League and they help and hurt each other in different ways. LW is hard to trade because most owners are looking for upside players and CJ robs LW of value in that sense. Until injuries strike his value remains low. White, to a lesser degree hurts CJ by taking some goal line carries. These guys need each other though because it would hurt CJ's long term value if he started to get nagging injuries because he is getting too many touches. I already sit on pins and needles with Westy. With CJ being the dynamic playmaker on the team he frees up Lendale to be more productive in a limited role. I don't think Fisher is going to be running CJ into the middle of the Baltimore line much this weekend if LW is out.

Even if you take out his carries from inside the 20 he's still running at only 3 YPC.

I think if he can run on torn ligaments in his knee for a good portion of last season he should be able to handle a shoulder strain or whatever he has going on right now.
