Speaking of sports if California was a country, we would have finished 4th in the Olympic medal count ahead of Russia. How cool is that? Ahead of Russia. Sorry but not having us drops the rest of the US to third behind China and Great Britain. That's a little embarrassing huh? My limey friends would love it though. They would have finished first.

I look forward to the next Olympic basketball tournament. We got both centers from your team, Boogie and DeAndre. Our points are Curry and Chris Paul. We barely need Blake, Klay, Draymond and Durant, but what the hell, we're going to blow you out!
Curry and Paul would be playing for NC.  Boogie would be playing for Alabama.  I won't bother looking up DeAndre, you can keep him and we'll just send him to the foul line.

From a financial standpoint the easy choices are Illinois and Puerto Rico (they want to be a state - does that count?).  Even though Chicago is cool the cats running the place have dug a hole so deep they could drain Lake Michigan.   Puerto rico - no big loss.
This is why I voted for my home state of Illinois.  Bad politics, constant financial distress, and a little bit of crime in Chicago.

Hell no, Mississippi has to stay because of their soul food.  California should go, they are nuts.
Is there something unique about Mississippi soul food that you can't get in Louisiana or Alabama or Georgia or South Carolina or Tennessee or even New York City?

Lol New York City.  Pull into a hole in the wall place on the Mississippi Delta and you will see what I mean.

I'm sure it's great.  But there's plenty of great soul food where I live as well.  And in a whole bunch of other places.  And those places don't dominate these statistics.

If all Mississippi has going for it is soul food that is arguably slightly better than a whole bunch of other places in the country, and 44 miles of coastline, I feel like this is a rout.

p.s.  Forgot to mention that Mississippi has the second highest murder rate among the states. Louisiana tops the list, but given your reference to Mississippi's cuisine, I'll note that it would be pretty uncontroversial to say that Louisiana destroys Mississippi on the food front.

The soul food thing makes no sense. It's not like we still couldn't go there for the food. Even the Mississippians aren't dumb enough to turn down tourist dollars.

Arizona is probably a good candidate given all the stupid crap we do here to get in the news. We finally got rid of Sheriff Joe though and there is the Grand Canyon to think about.
