Lions/Bills (1 Viewer)

Looked up the team record . . . 3 safeties by the Rams vs the Giants in 1984.

Dryer did score 2 safeties in a game against the Packers in 1973 . . . the only player to score two safeties in a game.

yeah, just looked it up to confirm. Both were actually in the 4th Quarter! That's one record that will be tough to beat.
Leading just 13-7 going into the fourth quarter, the Rams scored their final four points on an NFL-record two safeties by defensive end Fred Dryer. He blew past tackle Malcolm Snider twice in a 5-minute span to smother first Hunter and then Del Gaizo in the end zone. "I just got beat," a subdued Snider said after the game. "I'm really embarrassed."

I'm just following along via Chris Brown's (Bills blogger) web updates.

Wright fumbled again? I feel terrible for the guy... he seemed like a really good runner, but he must have the worst fumbling problem that I have ever seen in the NFL. He just lost his roster spot and his pro football career.

I kind of feel bad for him too, especially since he was doing whatever he could to try to fix the problem. At the same time, it's not like he really ever lit it up when given the chance either. If the guy was ripping off 10-15 yard runs everytime he touched the ball, the Bills would give him more time to work out his fumbling issue. But he's not really showing that he could ever be an every down type RB in the NFL, even without the fumbling issues.

Not a pro game but a game played between Bowling Green and Miami-OH three years ago netted three in the first half, all on botched punts (two over the punters head, one was dropped by the punter). In fact they almost got four safeties off of botched punts, punter dropped another one that he fell on inside the 5 during the 4th quarter. It was hilarious.
