I think it's important to draw the distinction that the world is not necessarily better off without people like Mike Brown, but it is better off without behavior like Mike Brown showed that day. It shouldn't necessarily get you killed, but it may and that's a lesson too few seem to be getting out of all of this. If you want to teach your kids something out if this, it's not that the world is hopeless and unfair, it's that your actions have consequences and you have the opportunity to control them.

i used to donate my time at food shelters/banks in my area on tday. sometimes xmas. 99% imo of the patrons have been black. this year we decided not to donate our time. hands down, don't serve is my new motto.

It is your personal decision of course, but to alter you views on serving due to what has been happening the last few days is troubling. It means others may hold this view and homeless/deeply poor people will suffer due to things outside their control.

For some strange reason, the CNN report did not ask them if they believed their son was capable of robbing a store and assaulting a store employee.

Plot twist: Wilson never shot Brown at all. It was the one-armed man all along.

How bout this one? Lets say Wilson was on vacation that day. After knocking over the store, Brown and his buddy Dorian are walking down the middle of the street uninterrupted. They get to arguing over who gets to hit the blunt first. The argument eventually turns to a physical altercation and Dorian kills Brown. Do we expect there would be more or less protests/demonstrations/riots in not only Ferguson but around the country?

Reality is it probably doesn't even make the local news because murder is the leading cause of death of black males age 15-34 and upwards of 90% of the time its a black person doing the killing. I always wonder why there isn't more outrage over that? To take it a step further, not only would there be far less (if any) outrage, it isn't a stretch to believe Dorian would earn some street cred over the whole thing.

I think what we really need is a list of things you should do to avoid being shot by LE:

1) Obey the law

2) Be respectful to LE

By following this short list, you too can avoid being killed by a police officer, HTH.

The reason that there have been so many protests about this incident is that there is a perception that is widely held among blacks that your statement is not true in regard to them.

The problem is if the police lie about one thing during an investigation people will not believe anything they say about the rest of the investigation. Just be truthful...do your job honestly and people will trust you(not all but most ).i

I have a lot of cop friends and when i see them on a face book post talking about shootings like this one they say things like the world is better off without people like Mike Brown.That makes my red flags go flying up....if thats the view they have then no wonder they are so fast to shoot and ask questions later. They really do view it as a war between us and them.

i used to donate my time at food shelters/banks in my area on tday. sometimes xmas. 99% imo of the patrons have been black. this year we decided not to donate our time. hands down, don't serve is my new motto.

It is your personal decision of course, but to alter you views on serving due to what has been happening the last few days is troubling. It means others may hold this view and homeless/deeply poor people will suffer due to things outside their control. The above assumes you haven't been serving in Ferguson.

i have 2 friends i grew up with that are cops ...ones white ,the other is black. The guys im talking about are acquaintances...but i wasnt surprised they said that to be honest...just eye opening in the grand scheme of things...im just glad im friends with cops as opposed to being enemies. The guys who have an issue with authority have the hardest times growing up without incident...i would never take a swing at a cop (im talking back in the day...im 50 now so that crap isnt even an option) I have always complied with police demands...even if it meant swallowing my pride...its a fight you just cant win..

And the public has ignored them if they ever heard them and continue to vote on these "tough on crime" politicans who have kept arresting and imprisioning (and killing) more and more people, of course heavily biased racially. To the point where we arrest 4% of our entire population every year. But yeah, how dare these desperate people who can't get the majority to care about their issue try something to get people to listen.

And yes, it will backfire. People care more about themselves than any greater societal issue. They'll hate these people for slowing them up for a few hours more than any of these "public servants" harming people.
