Partnership already breaking down? Did you call him too soon after the date? You are plenty old enough to know better than that BL. Desperation breeds disappointment. Com'on man, you're better than that.
6 days is money.

7.4: Tame- Pixies (Scream)

Sooooooo many bouncing in my head for this category... one of my favorite albums from one of my favorite bands- and some good screaming on uppa here.
Now we're talking.

Buju Banton "Untold Stories"- post '90 acoustic song

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kb-0Eo0Yk0o

There was a time when Buju Banton was the biggest reggae star around, because of great songs like this one. Unfortunately his career has currently been interrupted by the Justice Department. Hopefully when he gets out of prison, he will resume his career.

8.xx - Goodnight Elisabeth - Counting Crows (Deep Cut off #1 Album)
Wow, I was thinking about putting together my own mix last night with these categories, and was pondering a couple songs from this album for this category.
I thought August and Everything After would have been their #1 Album, but it charted at #4. I thought you of when I was considering this song earlier in the draft. I looked to see if you were still in it or not, because I know you like the CC just like me.

Never really listend to these guys... that's a really nice song.

Right now I'm torn between Nords and Danes. Anyone have a preference?
Nords. Out exchange student last year was from Norway. In fact she just sent me a list of "her" favorite Scandinavian artists. Most of it sounds like molly club music so you won't be seeing it on my mix.

I wish I'd stayed in. I'm going to have little to no internet access from the 25th to March 4, so didn't seem practical :(

7.12 Get What's Coming - Rival Sons (Multiple Movements) - bonus live-ish version

How much do I  this band? Impossible to quantify. GB them for bringing rock back. They're the love child of Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath, with a little funk/soul thrown in.

I really wanted to go with Pressure and Time from them here, as it's my favorite song of theirs, but I think it's just an A-B-A kind of structure. Get What's Coming has at least an A, B and C. And it's not an insufferable progressive 8+ minute monster. I actually listen to this.

Anyway, enjoy rocking out.

BTW, I hate the bumper songs being 7 million times louder than the actual track. It's like late night t.v. commercials all over again.

Interesting to see/hear the Beatles cat being filled- I think exclusively so far- with psychedelia. Did I miss some that were of the more pop variety?

8.16 A-ha - The Sun Always Shines on TV (Scandinavia)

- No, milloinkas sinä isket sen viimeisen pullon? kysyi ruotsalainen.
- En minä mikään hölmö ole, suomalainen vastasi, silloinhan joutuisin antamaan sinulle sen tonnin.

I didn't really think of the Smith Westerns song as psychedelic. It sounded like later Beatles, but what sounds like Beatle-mania era Beatles other than the That Thing You Do soundtrack or a Rutles record?

Nice pick. It was between this and Yngwie J. for me in the category.

8.xx "Is This Music?" Teenage Fanclub (instrumental)

The rock part made this a tougher category for me than I thought it would be.
Are you doing a rock theme?
I thought the category was rock instrumental
No. Higgins asked about it, and TK said:

Jazz instrumentals are definitely fine. Was initially thinking basically anything where they just play instruments, but if people wanna draft computer/electronic music that's cool too.
