MAD - Artist - Round 4 - Taking New Artists Never Used before. Deadline 10/13/24 for new artists, 10/20/24 11am MT for song list submission (16 Viewers)

And like 3 to 4 weeks until Oct 13 from starting this thread.
You may want to consult a calendar.
Oct 13 is 20 days since last Monday
I know, but I doubt anyone realised that the countdown had started. I just need to rank my songs, but most everyone else probably hasn't gotten there.
I knew. It was in the OP that it was deadline to both select artist and get list in.

Smartypants.

What's the planned roll out schedule? I just found an Our Lady Peace Christmas song. Need to plot out its ranking accordingly
Pretty sure commish said no Christmas songs. :oldunsure:
not yet man, the Halloween decorations aren't even out in our neighborhood yet
We have one set of neighbors with Halloween decorations out. Last year, they did a haunted house, so we are okay with that. The kids had a blast.

Unfortunately, one of the shopping venues here has Christmas trees up. Ugh.

Not sure if he plans to start right away the week of the 13th, but just doing a quick count I think we would be heading into our top 5s around Christmas week assuming the 3 playlists/week usual pace.

I’m probably listing the Christmas songs to end at 4, then her top 3 songs. Something like solo 31-22, collaborations 21-12, Christmas 11-4, then top 3.

OK, so when I set the Oct 13 date for cut off on naming artists and having lists in, I had a number of items on my plate for just after that time that were very up in the air when I first posted in this thread.

All of those things have been resolved the the last three days.

So, deadline to name artist will be the same, Oct 13. Deadline for submitting entries will be Sunday, October 20, 11am MT. I will post the #31's on Oct 20 at NOON MT.

If someone wants to name an artist after 10/13, that's fine. But not budging on starting with what I have on 10/20, noon MT.

FYI Dept... I officially retired three Friday's ago. And today, among many, many calls last three days on the sale/mgmt of my property, I ironed our some travels plans and am goin g to Vegas 10/21-27, with a good buddy for a mixed event series at the Wynn, then flying right to Hawaii for a week.

Congratulations and have a good time. Don't do anything we wouldn't do.

Was going to set this round out but what the hell.... Give me R.E.M.
getting down to 31 is proving to be a monumental task... so many REALLY good songs are going to be left on the cutting room floor.
Yeah - at some point you have to bite the bullet. My last 5 out was 25 songs deep at one point. I ripped off a few band aids, knowing at least all 31 songs will be “great” at least.

My rankings are done. I'm not crazy about the way I did them, but there's really no way to do Parliament-Funkadelic right (or wrong). I'll explain more in my intro.
George and co. were never very "organized", so there's no reason for a ranking of their songs to be!
True. My method was - in a way - more organized than anything Clinton did  I'll see if someone can catch the pattern.

Billy Joel tribute act
We are in the End Days

OH's friend Andy (referred to as "Shut Up Andy" in his Steve Albini write-ups) and Andrew Mason (who made and presumably lost a fortune as the founder of Groupon) had a Billy Joel cover band called "River of Dreams," which OH argued forever to be named "The Heart Attack-ack-ack-ack-acks."
