I feel like we're not going to get the nerdy clark kent alter ego.
I thought it was too short. My popcorn was still popping in the microwave by the time that clip was done.Feels like they are trying too hard.I'll be there hoping for better.
I think Snyder is going to nail Superman.I just don't think Hollywood is capable of making a good Superman movie. I wait until it hits the red box and maybe then I'll spend $1.29 on it.
There's a Man of Steel in my pants.

Gotta be Aquaman, no?who is the guy in the water -- superman or zod?

I'm having a hard time containing my enthusiasm for this movie. I think it's going to rock.

I have never been much of a Superman fan but Smallville was pretty good. It brought a lot more humanity to the character I thought. I really thought they should have taken that cast to a movie. They wouldn't have needed to redo the origin again and they had the best Lex Luthor in a long time I thought. As for the clip I like darkening it up a bit but we'll have to see where they take it.i think i like the idea of NOLANizing SupermanI've never thought superman/clark kent was as intriguing of a character as a Peter Parker or Bruce Wayne, but the angle they are taking looks interesting.i've never really read his comics though either.... nor did i watch smallville
Really the '70's Superman films (at least 1 and 2) were fairly well done given the technology they had at the time and the mood of the era.I did think they made him overcompensate a bit to the stupid/bumbling side as clark kent even if superman isn't as known for his intelligence like Reed Richards or Peter Parker.I don't like them using the office girl as lois lane.. to me that's a horrible casting choice... lois has to have dark hair... why does that office chick get so many major parts right now? She's pleasant but not "hot" and she's a decent actor, but not fantastic by any means... just odd.At any rate... i agree he can't be brooding because he didn't witness his parents die in cold blood like Bruce, nor feel personally responsible for his caretaker's death like Peter ParkerI like the idea of more depth and an introspective superman, but he can't be brooding like batman. That's just not superman.

Actually it was 3. She was also on Smallville for an episode. And since 2011 she has been in or is going to be in 10 movies. I don't understand how she got to be so hot a property all of the sudden.Amy Adams appeared in like one episode of The OfficeReally the '70's Superman films (at least 1 and 2) were fairly well done given the technology they had at the time and the mood of the era.I did think they made him overcompensate a bit to the stupid/bumbling side as clark kent even if superman isn't as known for his intelligence like Reed Richards or Peter Parker.I like the idea of more depth and an introspective superman, but he can't be brooding like batman. Nope. Deliberately didn't. She said she didn't want to play someone else playing Lois, pretty obviously referring to Margot Kidder. Which of course is meaningless because the character was drawn with dark hair and as I recall even in the first TV shows Lois had dark hair. It is kind of like having a blond Superman.yeah, sorry i get those 2 confused. my mistake i take it all back!ok but I think Dentist thought Lois Lane was being played by Jenna FischerActually it was 3. having said that, i dislike amy adams being lois lane unless she darkens her hair, which maybe she will.
snoochie poochies!"Should I have just let them die?""Maybe"#### just got real. And did I see him kneel before Zod?:giggity:
Although, here you have an orphan that has probably felt like an outcast and a weirdo most of his life. That pretty dramatic material.I like the idea of more depth and an introspective superman, but he can't be brooding like batman. That's just not superman.

I know what you're saying. But it begs the question: in 2012, is it archaic to portray a hero without internal flaws and angst? I say yes.True but he has always been portrayed as being far above such concerns.Although, here you have an orphan that has probably felt like an outcast and a weirdo most of his life. that's what makes superman movies toughhe cannot just be batman who can fly, superman is the optimist, the boy scoutand that makes kind of crappy moviesI know what you're saying. And the portrayal of that "humanity" was part of what made Smallville work. He occasionally was petty or jealous or angry. Often at odds with what seemed to be his destiny and how it negatively affected his own wishes and desires. To me it's what always made Marvel more interesting than DC. The guy inside the suit.I know what you're saying. But it begs the question: in 2012, is it archaic to portray a hero without internal flaws and angst? Agreed. One of the writers, Kevin Smith, said, "The thing that bothered me about [writer] Greg Poirier’s draft: they were trying to give Superman angst. They had Clark Kent going to a psychiatrist at one point. Superman’s angst is not that he doesn’t want to be Superman. If he has any [angst], it’s that he can’t do it all; he can’t do enough and save everyone...Batman is about angst; Superman is about hope."
See to me this is wrong. There has to be some part of Superman that just wants to be a guy. Joe Six-Pack. A wife, some kids, a dog and the white picket fence. And that part of him has to some time be very near the surface. If not then he is truly alien in every way and has little, to nothing, in common with the people he has sworn to protect. One of the writers, Kevin Smith, said, "The thing that bothered me about [writer] Greg Poirier’s draft: they were trying to give Superman angst. Even when he became human in Superman II he quickly reconciled the fact that it just could never be and moved on without hesitation or, seemingly any regret. I think Amy Adams is a good choice, after all it's a reboot. She's probably an upgrade over Margot Kidder, just as Emma Stone was an upgrade over Kirsten Dunst in the Spiderman reboot. As set up he is a secular god. Unstoppable and unfathomable for normal humans. That is a great two dimensional character for a two dimensional story but it holds little interest for me. And we have seen he has other motivations. He has unrequited love for Lois but he is never jealous? He is never angry about his inability to explore that relationship? Never feels isolated by his power? Boring.well there's some part of me that wants to be a monkeybut i am closer to a monkey than superman is to a human, i am sure the thought crossed his mind, but it is not a major part of who he is he embraces being a hero and wants to save everyoneif you delve into "why me" he becomes like batman, which may make for an ok movie, but it is not very supermanSee to me this is wrong. Again boring. In the end we know how the story goes, there is no dramatic tension. He will always be an all powerful boy scout. There's a difference though. I think Superman can have these feelings and we can look deeper into the inner workings of him, but he still has to be Superman. We can have a more complex superman without making it dark. You can't go and change the very nature of the alien who adopts the planet as his own and swears to protect truth, justice, and the american way.As set up he is a secular god. Unstoppable and unfathomable for normal humans. That is a great two dimensional character for a two dimensional story but it holds little interest for me. And we have seen he has other motivations.
