McFadden vs Forte (1 Viewer)

The OP may have phrased this poorly, but I think its a legit question for those of us drafting at the end of the first round too. To me, McFadden is a swing for the fences kind of pick. I could easily see a scenario where he finishes as the #1 RB. He's also never played in more than 13 games in a year, and last year his 223 carries were more than double what he averaged in each of his first two seasons. The floor here is pretty low.
Forte on the other hand, has played in all 48 games of his career. He's a very good bet for 1500/10. (His career average is 1577 combined yards and 8TDs.)
So do you want to take a swing at 2,000 yards with McFadden knowing that his floor could be +/- 500 yards, or put 1500 in the bank with Forte?
Its a legitimate question to me.

Mcfadden just because his upside is top 5 rb. Low end rb 1 on my draft board. He looked pretty amazing running the ball last season. He also has alot downside/injury risk but hes the type of player who could win your league.
Forte I prefer as a top end rb 2. I dont think he has top 5 upside but i could see him landing top 10. Hes more of a safer play but i dont think he has anywhere near dmc talent.
In my drafts this season dmc has been gone by end of the first. Forte I have seen go from early 2nd-late 2nd. 2 ppr leagues 1 non ppr.
If your picking on the bottom 3 in a 12 team i think you could land dmc and follow up with forte in the 2nd alot of times. If im choosing 1 or the other its gotta be dmc.

Forte finished #1 overall in ppr his rookie year, how does he not have top 5 upside?

While I generally agree with your sentiment, last year McFadden finished as RB6 with 214 fantasy points. (non-ppr). Forte finished RB9 with 208 points. It was far and away McFadden's best year. Forte however, finished RB3 in 2008 with 235 points. Those 235 points would have made him RB2 last year and RB5 in 2009.

I see Forte at #1 in PPR in 2008 with 307 points, one point ahead of Deangelo, but maybe I'm wrong.

Fortes my ppr rb12. I really dont think he outperforms the 6 guys i have inbetween him till the top 5 on my board. I highly doubt he beats out the top 6 on my board at the position which i think are all guys who are pretty automatic for big seasons this year. I also see a pretty big dropoff in ppr from my top 6 elite tier to the rest of the rbs.

He finished as rb 8 last season in my ppr leagues forte was rb 9. DMC also missed 3 games last season. If DMC played all 16 games he would of easily finished rb2 overall last season. I have seen lots of Forte since hes been in the league. I consider him a solid consistent do it all runner. Hes a really good pass catcher but he just doesnt have the explosion and raw running talent of a dmc.DMC last year running the ball looked like something special. He has explosion. He has that amazing wow factor. I think DMC has top overall fantasy talent if he stays healthy all year. Thats a big if he plays all 16 though i would say he WILL be in the top 5.

Who are your top 6 elite tier?Foster,Ap,Cj3,Charles,Rice, Mccoy??? that would be my top tier for sure... then second tier u have Mcfadden, Mendy, Forte

That is my top tier as well. My 2nd tier has the guys you listed as well but i also include mjd gore and sjax.

well ok smartguy, here's why I like dmac over forte. I think Dmac is the more explosive runner and has the higher upside.. Forte could have 1500 yards from scrimmage total 60 catches and 10 tds. Dmac has 1900-2000 yards from scrimmage 12 td potential if healthy.'shnikies said:

Considering where these two are going (DMC late 1st and forte anywhere in the 2nd) I'd have to say forte is the better value
