Just to reiterate, I didn't rank 31 songs (it was 20 or 21 and I told him to "wild card" the rest) for JML's Otis Redding countdown. So his scoring is going to be a little whacky at the beginning. I expect it'll lock in pretty well when we get to #18 or so. I'd bet everything I own that krista and I have the same #1 (she & I have not talked about this list). JML's own rankings are the real wild card here for me since he's from another side of the globe and I don't know which Redding resonates most outside of the U.S.
Thanks.
Not that whacky actually.
There will be 4 songs that I am the only ranker on in the chart. Including my #7 ranked song. So a little whacky.
The first of my solo efforts will be the #30. Then the #27 overall, then #26 overall and where my #7 song ranks we will see.
The rankings get more stable when you join us. At #25. This is the only song on your list Krista did not rank.
There are some very interesting songs from #30 to #26 though, including one that wouldnt appear on many Otis lists. A very early track.that both Krista and I ranked
Of course there are some variations in rankings between the 3 of us.
Krista’s #2 song is not on your list and WAS well down on mine.
My #2 song is well down on Kristas list, but top 10 in yours
6 songs are top 10 in ALL 3 of our lists.
Your #1 summarization is correct. But it will not be the #1 song overall thanks to me.
Overall my individual rankings werent as wild as i thought they would be. With 3 or 4 exceptions.
I was in a couple of vinyl record stores last week and asked if they had any Otis on vinyl.
They both said as soon as they get any in, its gone in a day or 2. Luckily one shop had two “out the back” that he sold me.
