Mike Tyson Vs Jake Paul? (1 Viewer)

Unless it's something really outrageous like fighting Rhonda Rhousey or something it's not worth even tuning in for the next one.
Many assume it will be Connor next but he is such a mess right now, I am not sure that can ever come off.
What's up with him? I have zero clue, don't follow it.
Can’t get healthy, is over juicing, has not had a fight since 2021. Currently on trial for rape I believe
That midget Leprechaun could'nt beat Jake Paul, Tyson, Maywewather - Cannelo or any other worthy opponent. Connor is dust.
Has anyone realized Connor never defended either UFC title successfully. He won the featherweight title by fighting a close to 40 year old Jose Aldo. Never defended either title. Won the Lightweight title by beating scrub intern-champ Eddie Alveraz who was subb'd in for Jose Del Anos two weeks before the fight. Connor lost every one of those title defenses.

He's 3-5 in his last 8 fights and really 3-6 as the 2nd Diaz fight was a joke.

I'm sorry, I'm coming across as angry Penguin

I just keep thinking about that movie scene when I was a kid. Someone brought the Shinning
The only thing Paul might lose tonight is an ear
Hearing intact
Sorry to all the Tyson bettors but you were on the wrong side, it was never going to play that way

Say what you want about him put this Paul jabroni is extremely respectful
He was classy at the end, I'll give him that.
It’s all part of the fight gimmick. You hype the fight with fake animosity and stunts like the power slap, and then end the fight with mutual respect. This has been the play book for decades in combat sports.
True. Once the sale is complete they can be as honest as they want.

Haven't seen any actual clips. Just internet scrolled around the recaps. Well. It went how I initially thought it would go went before the hype got me believing Tyson could win. Well done marketing machine. Gonna be interesting what the end numbers will be. Gotta consider this a huge win for people who put this on. People paid attention.

This sort of reminds me of when Snakes on a Plane was released. Nobody thought it was going to be “good,” but if you were in on the joke and went to a theater that Friday or Saturday night, you had a really good time. People had as much fun making Netflix jokes as just about anything else. Prelims had a couple good ones.

2 unreal fights (especially Taylor/Serrano) made the night worthwhile. But it was followed by one of the biggest money grab farces in the history of sports. Anybody paying money to watch Paul fight these clown shows should have their head examined. At least this was free. And Netflix proved they have technical issues streaming live events. They couldn’t host a SuperBowl, that’s for sure.

It was a great time with friends. We got two legit great fights and the main event was a stinker. How many times has that happened boxing?

I knew Tyson had little to no chance…but it was karma for me to root for the old “has been” vs the social media influencer.

I threw $50 on Tyson for ****s and giggles knowing most likely I threw away $50.

Was hoping for 3-4 huge shots in round 1.

I knew he was toast after round one. I think we all did. And Paul carried him the rest of the way.

Lots of people losing their jobs over this buffering fiasco.

You think so? I guess if Netflix was running this as a test to sell their platform for other large live events. Otherwise I doubt the stream quality impacts their sub numbers very much.

Supposedly north of 100M viewers tuned in which is SB type numbers and approaching half of their total subscribers. Viewers for their regular NFL games will be way less and they're not likely to have issues there.

I wonder how much people spent to be here live lol.
Less than a Taylor Swift concert.

>>As of Friday afternoon, the "get-in" price for Tyson vs. Paul is $78 per ticket, which will get you a seat in the upper deck. There are still floor seats available near ringside, but it will cost over $1,900 per seat.<<
It did seem sold out though

They misjudged demand. Probably.

Yeah some folks in I.T misjudged the capacity they can handle…..unless this was a planned live stress test.

No way that guy is talking about fighting Canelo lmfao
Canelo would kill him. I would pay to watch that.
Isn’t this the point though? Mission accomplished, Paul has you interested in another fight.

He’s playing a great heel.

Not me. I only watched for iron Mike. Couldn’t care less who Paul fights next. Didn’t even know who he was.
The only thing I knew about him was he was on some show my kids used to watch with Olivia Rodrigo

I think it was a little short of a sell out.

Jerry World holds 80k with no one on the field. I don't know how many field seats they sold but it looked like a ton of people on the field. So well over 85k I would guess.

They said on the broadcast it was 72k which was just shy of the ticket record for a boxing match in the stadium.

Skilled fighters are going to watch this early punch by Tyson…Paul better get better because if that old man had any stamina and more of these, he could have found himself staring at the roof of Jerry world. Rest of the fight was clearly a snooze, but was definitely nostalgic seeing Tyson in the first round in his old crouching style and landing that.

Say what you want about him but this Paul jabroni is extremely respectful to Tyson

Paul didn't have the courage to knock Tyson out. We can clown on Rosie but at least she said out loud what everyone could see. Tyson was a sitting duck after two rounds but Paul refused to finish him.
JMO - Paul looked uncertain and maybe a little in awe to start. In the 2nd round he figured out that Tyson was just a shell of himself and decided he didn't need to hurt/embarrass someone he idolized.

Will be watching this one.
I did not end up watching this one. Tapped out due to the streaming issues during the undercards. Probably could have switched over to my phone or tablet, but didn't care that much.

Is it even worth watching?

Easiest money ever. Still dumbfounded how so many thought Tyson could win.
Thought he could get him with a big blow in round 1 or early 2. Paul looked terrible but Mike seemed like he couldn’t even move.

I said above I knew I was a rube for this when 86% of the public was on Tyson.
Same. And to be fair, Mike clocked him in the 1st & Paul looked scared for a second, like he realized he may have made a mistake.

Then he ran around for 7 more rounds jabbing & tiring out Tyson’s old legs & it was over.

Hopefully everyone can laugh at this and it’s not too soon (obviously a tongue in cheek joke):

Talk is that Jake Paul’s people are already looking ahead to his next big fight and are deep in negotiations with Joe Biden’s camp.
The running joke on Bluesky was **** Van Dyke.

ETA - ironic that FBG filters out one of the most beloved wholesome actors of all time.

No. Maybe just the 1st round. Other than that it was pretty boring. Tyson just kind of stood there with his mitts up the whole time.

the problem with boxing IMO is exactly what happened in the womens' fight. Wrong person won on the cards, though Taylor defended better. Serrano threw 130 more punches and landed a higher percentage. She had 48 more landed power punches. And she did so while getting headbutted three times minimum with a nasty gash from them. It's not like a bad strike call by an ump or a holding penalty on the LT. There is no way to overcome the finality of judges deciding you lose. See Roy Jones in the Olympics, and various gymnasts screwed by Russian judges. Taylor's reaction showed she was even surprised she won. Impressively Serrano threw 73 punches in 2 mins in round 2. That's insane

Our IT guys calls this an RGE…resume generating event.

Because of buffering etc. I only caught the last round of the Taylor-Serrano fight. Looked great so I just watched the whole thing.

Thought it was absolutely awesome but disappointed in the scoring. If there were 12 rounds or 3 minute rounds I don't think it would have been close enough for the bad decision to happen.
