Why buy the cow when you can get the milk for free by being an obnoxious neighbor? Why don't you just buy the street?

Can we merge this thread with the other threads where chet feels slighted by insignificant things?

Chet Dr.Your beef is not with your neighbor. It's with the city, for failing to put up the signage marking that part of the road as being reserved for you to park. Come to think of it, that entire road is your private driveway, correct?
I'm the same way. In fact, this guy is so nice, it's possible that he chose that spot because my wife is out of town. We will see when we get back in mid August.I only read the first few posts but I don't see the problem saying something. You know him, and I agree that I would want someone to tell me if I was making them feel a certain way. I would be embarrassed, apologize, and find somewhere else to part. "Jeez Chet...I'm sorry. Thanks for saying something. I'll move it somewhere else."
I'm about a mile from wrigley. Theres usually at least one or two open spots at the busiest times. What part of Chicago are you in? I live in the west loop. I'm happy to park my car within 3 blocks of my house as it's hard to find spots. Is it different where you are at to the point it's easy for him to park in front of his place, or does in front of your house just happen to be where spots have been open for him?
Yeah but use real toilet paper and not chet toilet paper aka 100 dollar bills.Go out late tonight and toilet paper the truck. You might actually have fun doing it. Then, if he questions u, blame it on the hoodlums in the neighborhood. You must have done something to piss them off at some time ... right?
Best him to the punch, park a car there before he gets his truck thereWe live in the city on a small street with lots of families and children. A new neighbor moved in directly across from us about a year ago. He's a nice guy--I'd met him before and we have a couple of mutual friends. He's very social and is a good addition to the block.
He has a 4x4 with raised suspension and oversized wheels that he rarely drives. He's gotten into the habit of parking it directly in front of our house and because he doesn't drive it regularly, it just sits there. He drove it over the weekend, and when he got back, he parked right in front of our house again. Parking on the street is usually not a problem. Other than it being a bit of an eyesore, this hasn't been an issue for me yet but it will when my wife gets back to town and isn't able to park in front of our house.
Would you say anything or leave it alone? Like I said, he's a nice guy and I'd never say anything offensive.
Here's a pic of the truck taken from my front door.
You did, in your first post.Where did I say I owned the street in front of my house?
Anyway, I am heading out of town for a couple of weeks and if it's still there when I return, I will update accordingly.
Ah, the classic "I get two weeks vacation in Europe" post wrapped around "How do I deal with a truck in front of my multi-million dollar brownstone" thread.chet said:We will see when we get back in mid August.
About to take off for Geneva via London.
A la prochain!
Wait for the Derby threads.Ah, the classic "I get two weeks vacation in Europe" post wrapped around "How do I deal with a truck in front of my multi-million dollar brownstone" thread.
I'm new here, but this is spectular. Well done Mr. Chet.
A mile from Wrigley in almost any direction I can see it being hard to find a spot for a big car like that. In the city, I feel like you just take whatever spot is open that is closest to your house. There are no assigned spots, and if the spot isn't open in front of your house then take the closest one that is.chet said:I'm about a mile from wrigley. i took the pic today and at least half the street was open.
Ask him to park on his side of the road so that you can use the space in front of your house. We live in the city on a small street with lots of families and children.
