I tried looking and got thisI believe it has a retractable roof.
but then what's the roof? dome like?Allen was intimately involved in the stadium design. He rejected plans for a retractable roof, and directed the architects to minimize the stadium footprint as much as possible to bring fans closer to the action. Also, he had the architects design the structure of the stadium, especially the roof, to direct as much crowd noise as possible on the field.
Very true. Virtually every major east coast city gets many more inches of rain each year than Seattle does. However, around November the "rain" starts here in the Northwest and usually doesn't let up until late March. Here are some odd concepts that can better describe our type of "rain". No one ever uses an umbrella here. Almost never. It's just not necessary because it never rains hard enough to warrant it. Intermitent wipers are must here. It doesn't rain hard enough here to require anything other than that. I don't think I've put my wipers on the low setting in the past couple of years more than once or twice. High? Never been done."Rain" in Seattle = "drizzle" in most other parts of the country.70% chance of rain, 11-20+ MPH winds. I'm not expecting much out of any players on offense, including my DJax![]()
So what are thoughts about Monday night then? Contemplating Moss . . .Very true. Virtually every major east coast city gets many more inches of rain each year than Seattle does. Only the seats are covered. Field is permenantly open to the elements.http://www.seahawks.com/QwestField/QwestField.aspxI tried looking and got thisI believe it has a retractable roof.but then what's the roof? dome like?Allen was intimately involved in the stadium design. I believe it has rained during a Seahawks home game exactly one time. If it doesn rain (because it can happen), I seriously doubt it will be anything more than a drizzle. Sure, it could happen. Downpours do occur, but past history seems to indicate it should be nothing to worry about.I end up having to post in one of these threads every year. BassNBrew will back me up on this. Seattle has a reputation for lots of rain. It's just not the sort of rain that other people in other parts of the country are used to.So what are thoughts about Monday night then? Since you can apparently predict the future here Nostradamus, can you give me Randy Moss' stat live vs. Lee Evans?TIA!the raiders are going to win...
so roof is for the seats not the field, gotchathanks for clarifyingOnly the seats are covered. I think this will come close to happening. I see the Seattle D scoring once, getting 6 sacks, 3 picks, and 2 fumble recoveries while the Oakland offense will score 6 points.I would like two defensive scores by seattle and a shut out. That would make me happy. LMAO
As best as I can remember we have only had one game up here that it was raining at - Dallas - LAST SEASON! contrary to popular opinion the weather here is no worse than anywhere else. Having said that - we are in the midst of a 10 day piss-fest right now and the rain is coming down in sheets - I wouldn't have high expectations for either offense tonight - which is fine by me as I have the OAK DEF.I have a nagging feeling that this is a blowout for Seattle. Bad weather favors them since they are used to it up in Seattle, while Oakland may not be as prepared for the bad weather. I guess we will find out tonight.
I disagree. It took something like two seasons for it to even rain once at Qwest field during a game. There really haven't been that many games in the rain at Qwest since then, and when they do occur, it's usually just light rain. Anyway, I think a windy and WET game favors the Raiders a hell of a lot more than it does the Hawks. The Raiders defense has been quite stout, and if anyone is going to successfully run the ball tonight, my guess is that it will be the Raiders.Don't get me wrong, I still like the Hawks to win...But I've lost a ton of faith in both their run and pass defense and their ability to keep the big plays to a minimum.I have a nagging feeling that this is a blowout for Seattle. Bad weather favors them since they are used to it up in Seattle, while Oakland may not be as prepared for the bad weather. I guess we will find out tonight.
UGH...not good. I only need 4 pts (40yds rushing or 100yds passing) from Seneca to win this week. And I REALLY need the W in this league.
I hope Darrell Jackson sits out, then I win by a gnat's ###.
I truly hope not, seeing as I need 14 pts or so from Moss![]()
KEEP US POSTED.Just great! I need Wallace to throw at least one TD (2 would be really nice) to have a chance at winning my game tonight, maybe he can run one in
Apparently, the downpour is occurring.I'm about 100 miles north of Seattle. Started last night, and it's still raining much harder than normal here. Time will tell, but if this keeps up it will certainly affect the game tonight.I seriously doubt it will be anything more than a drizzle. Sure, it could happen. Downpours do occur, but past history seems to indicate it should be nothing to worry about.
I think he plays. Reports from Farnesworth yesterday was that he'll be fine.Wouldn't be suprised if D Jax sits this one out.....Homers???![]()
I don't think it can ever get sloppy on field turf. It's going to be sloppy and Oakland actually runs the ball better than Seattle right now....I still think Seattle wins.23 - 13 Seattle![]()
This is correct. The baseball stadium has a retractable roof, I think. Don't know about the football stadium . . .
I usually don't quote myself. I just walked outside to our other building (I'm across the street from the stadium), it "looked" like it has let up -- but, I have changed my opinion. It is still coming down steady. The wind stopped beating it against my window, so, I mistakenly took that for lower volume. Its dang wet.http://www.weather.com/weather/hourbyhour/...pnav_undeclared
Its about 12pm local time. The rain has reduced quite a bit now. But is definately soggy out. Early in the morning the Hood's canal bridge was closed due to winds of 40mph +. The winds have really dropped down now -- according to the hour-by-hour forecast, wind won't be tooo bad. Temps are at about 60 -- actually pretty pleasant.![]()
The field is built for wet conditions. I think it'll be just fine.
