**MNF in SF - Jets at Niners** (-3.5, 43.5) 8:15 (2 Viewers)

I think this ends up being a little higher scoring than people think. I think Hall can run on SF, and the new look OL should do a much better job keeping Rodgers upright. I was down on Garrett Wilson at ADP, and I don't think this will be his week either.

I think the Jets D is a little overrated, and SF is the exact type of offense they could struggle with. The overaggressive play could backfire this week.

I think despite Shanny's words, I think this sets up as more of an Aiyuk week, as I think the Jets sell out to stop CMC and play 1-1. If SF chooses to use him, I think this could be a strong Kittle game, as TE is the best area to attack the Jets pass D.

49ers and the over.
 
Jets win this one. Rodgers will come out and play well. Hall and Wilson will move the chains and the Jets def will stifle SF especially with a gimpy CMC.
 
CMC said he's confident he'll not only play, but get his full workload, and maybe a little more.

Niners at home, I'mma go 49ers by a FG. ARod does his best Zach Wilson impression & throws 2 picks and loses a fumble. LFG! :pickle:
 
Think the Jets take it. SF with a few distractions, Aiyuk on a pitch count possibly, Purdy a little shaky in preseason and going up against the NYJ D.

Both these teams play at a slooooow pace too. I'd go the under. A Purdy INT ends up being the difference.
 
SF 27, J-E-T-S 16, game starts out slow with defense dominating, but 49ers pick up the pace in the second quarter and lead going into half. Jets stage a mild come-back but 49ers cruise in 4th quarter. Both Rodgers and Purdy throw a pick.
 
All I know is I have SF in a 5 team money line parlay for a very nice payout.

This is what worries me about Rodgers more than anything save getting injured again. The boldface font is what I've been imagining this like. I can't imagine the Jets' OL is that improved. And outside of Wilson, the Jets didn't address WR with Williams at his place in recovery. It's the little things. Defense better show up tonight, boys, or it could be a long one.

That said, I'll let this guy have the last word before my prediction:

A former AFC personnel executive predicted Rodgers "won't be a disaster [in 2024], but I don't think he'll be a top-five player anymore." The executive believes age and injury will claim some of his athleticism, and that he will be hesitant to hold the ball because he wants to avoid contact. That, he surmised, will prompt defenses to overplay the short routes and choke the field on him.

I'd snark at that but it gives one a rooting interest, I guess. That's an awful lot of rushing yards. Think of the odds of breaking an eighty-yard gallop. Now add seventy yards to it for the game. Now they both have to do that.

It's slim, bro.
 
Jordan Mason anytime TD was +800 earlier today, it's at +575 now on my sports book app. I shoulda jumped when I looked.

For total rush + rec yards, I'm taking CMC under 116.5. I think Shanahan gives Mason some work because CMC isn't quite 100%.

One thing to keep in mind (and don't you dare change your bet) is that the Jets have had trouble the past few years with guys out of the backfield catching passes. In fact, I expect it to be a major part of SF's game tonight (it already is, but I expect a heavy dose if McCaffrey is okay at all).
 
Aaron Rodgers has yet to complete a single pass to anyone on his team but he’s going to beat the SB finalist from last year coming off a significant injury at age 40?
 
The hypetrain says The Jets will be more better this year.
But that little devil on my shoulder keeps saying..."they're still the Jets"
The Niners had a bumpy offseason but seem to have gotten things smoothed out,except I just heard CMC is inactive tonight
so throw it all out the window...

This is the worst opening week kick in the nads I’ve ever had.

30+ from Kupp last night to keep me in the fight, up 2 with my CMC vs opponent’s Aiyuk.

Now I’m going to lose.

Just the absolute worst. Worse than a point adjustment. :wall:

You're not going to lose. I have Aiyuk, so he is guaranteed to catch 1 ball for 7 yards tonight.
