Here is the situation:
You are writing on the blackboard, back to the class, you get hit in the neck by a spitball - You suspect two or three kids, but didn't see anything suspicious from them as soon as you turned around. You are now facing the class spit ball on the floor next to your shoes...
Go -
I think that's fair but I also think it is unfair because I need a chance to set the tone, throw a few jabs at them, I doubt someone will do that to me.
But I would simply ask who did it? Go form there. A kid doing that IMO, something is not going well in class an ultimately it's the product of the teacher.
They aren't throwing spit balls in the classroom next door, I can assure you so I will find out what that teacher does as far as classroom management and then put my spin on it and make it my own.
I saw a few of the kids in that grade level today, they don't look all that tough and you gotta remember…these are kids who did not want to go to their local school for whatever reason, most of them want to learn and they wouldn't last a day in some of those inner urban schools they are running away from. So they might talk a good game but they'll fold quickly when I check raise them out of their seat the first time.
I'm quick on my feet and have a sharp tongue, that's proven with all my rants. I don't think these kids are gonna want to try and get on my bad side. I know there are going to be a few bad apples but we'll deal with them as needed.
