Namdi Carted off practice field - per NFLN (1 Viewer)

Actually playing on Turkey Day isn't really a choice. NFL says you play, then you play

But practice? Why schedule it?

I'm siding with Kenny on this one

You guys have no clue. Thursdays are too big of a preparation day to just skip it. I bet every team is practicing today if they are not playing. I did hear a couple of coaches earlier in the week on NFL radio state - how they practiced on Wednesday would determine how long Thursday's practice would be - the carrot being a much shortened practice if everything got covered well.

Especially with a team like the Eagles that needs to run the table to make the playoffs.

Nnamdi has not been the impact player the Eagles thought they were getting. Most of the secondary defense have been zone defense, which is not one of Nnamdi's strong suits. While it is a downtick for the Eagles defense, I don't think it's as big a drop from where they are currently at.

I'm making an assumption based on watching all of the Pats games and reading various analysis, but the Patriot's offense has excelled this year against zone defenses and has struggled against man coverage. If Nnamdi is out for Sunday's game then this is big for the Pat's offense, especially if the Eagles were going to work in more man coverage after watching other teams have success with it against the Patriots.

Why would they run man coverage when they haven't all year? As an Eagles fan, we've been complaining about lack of man coverage for the last 10 weeks. They'll probably stick to zone... it's what the Eagles do.

I wasn't aware of that - really good info. That could mean big days for Branch and Hernandez, compared to their as-of-late insignificant and mediocre contributions FF-wise, respectively. I'm not sure how well Welker does against zone...

Umm...the reason you know his name is because what he tends to do against zone coverage. One of, if not the, best in the league at finding the soft spots and exploiting them.

Thanks - but he also has a history of exploiting man coverage pretty well (see week 1 Patriots @ Dolphins and week 3 Patriots @ Buffalo). Although, he hasn't faired well against man coverage recently. I guess what I really meant is that I wasn't sure how well Welker does against zone versus man-to-man.

i hope he is ok and gets back on the field quickly best wishes my man in case you read this thread take it to the bank brohan

One of the most overrated players in the last 10 years, not a big loss.
I still believe the only reason the Eagles went out and got him was strictly to keep the Cowboys from landing him.Why else spend all that money for a shutdown CB, when; -1) you've already got DRC and Samuels, and -2) you don't plan to let him man-up and shut anyone down anyway.

It was a purely ****block move of a divisional foe by the Eagles.

OR, their OL-coach-turned-DC isn't quite good enough at his job to use use him in a way that's already been proven to allow for an All-Pro level of performance throughout his career.

Yeah... isn't that what I said in item #2?

No, you implied that since they weren't using him correctly, it must be because they just don't care to, and were only concerned with cockblocking the Cowboys.

This. Their defensive scheme is using him completely wrong, which I suppose is what happens when you have a D-Coordinator who has no idea what he's doing.
