Real glad Zbo got picked. Would have been hard to pass on him in the 4th, but as much as I love his real life game it's not super ideal for the SIM. Annoyed that Taj was taken.
Also regarding the Greek Freak vs Randolph and Miller, the thing that really separates him is his jump shot and decision making. GF is already a 35% 3 point shooter and looks to set his teammates up. AR has fantastic handles but he's dumb as a rock and Miles doesn't have one NBA skill. I'll peg him at 12-10 ppg, 7 rebs, 3.5 ast. Nic Batum lite.
As a 19 yo Miles averaged 9.4 pts, 5.9 reb, 1.2 ast, 1.5 blk, and .6 stl in 26 MPG, and shot over 50% from the field.
NBA skills weren't Miles' problem.
Athleticism...running and dunking. He couldn't dribble, pass, or shoot.
I watched most every game of his first couple of years and disagree, he had all those tools. He even shot 35% from 16ft - 3pt range as rookie (hardly taking any 3 pointers at all) so among close watchers of the team at that stage we all thought he was likely to eventually develop into a decent shooter. He'd get out of control at times but was
electric putting the ball on the floor and taking people of the dribble or going end to end in transition.
Thus....running and dunking.
He didn't even attempt 3 pointers (131 for his CAREER), his FT% was <60%, and that 16-3pt range shot was 36% for his career (NBA avg is around ~38%) so it's pretty safe to say he couldn't shoot.
He had a high of 2.6 AST per game (career 1.9 ast per game). If you want to compare AST%, his career 12.6 AST% is less than Carmelo Anthony (15.8 AST%). Oh an he averaged more TO than AST for his career (2 vs 1.9). So I think it's pretty safe to say he couldn't pass either.
I was living in SoCal at that time so I adopted those Clippers as my second team (F THE LAKERS!! Brand, Q, Odom, Miles, Magg) and watched them as much as a college kid could. He was a freak athlete, but had nothing else to his game. That's why he disappeared after he hurt his knee.
