NBA BTTF VI Draft - DONE! Regular Season OVAH. Commence trade talk and six month wait for WIS rosters (1 Viewer)

Okay so when does this start. I really need to read the rules closer than I did the 1st time. I hate to be a pest, but I might need some hand holding to start
Looks like we'll start next week.  First bids due Tuesday evening.

Basically you want to try to draft the best real-life team you can as a simple way to think about it.

The things you'll want to keep in mind about the SIM is that you need to be sure to draft enough guys with high usage so you can always field a team with 100% usg on the floor at all times.  The SIM likes rebounding too.  Defense is pretty   .

Make the Philly guys play together, and they can only draft 76ers or players who went to LaSalle, Villanova, Temple, Drexel, or St. Joe's.
we'll take the local dudes too. Rip Hamilton, Hank Gathers, Sheed Wallace...  maybe little Kobe though Lower Merion blows

Will Jmon even bid on anyone in the top 72 to ensure he'll get top pick in the draft since a certain someone isn't on the auction list?

I think we talked about using a list for a points style league this year because these Roto lists move the bad FT shooters way below their WIS value. I can run one from the basketball monster projections I have.

Here's the top 25 total points projections using DraftKings scoring for the full season. I think this does a better aligning with WIS needs:

Russell Westbrook
James Harden
Giannis Antetokounmpo
Karl-Anthony Towns
Anthony Davis
LeBron James
DeMarcus Cousins
John Wall
Nikola Jokic
Damian Lillard
Kevin Durant
Stephen Curry
Rudy Gobert
Kawhi Leonard
Kyrie Irving
Paul George
Jimmy Butler
Chris Paul
Andre Drummond
Dennis Schroder
Kemba Walker
Kevin Love
DeAndre Jordan
Myles Turner
Hassan Whiteside

That's fine...or we can just use the ESPN or SI top 100 list.

Do the auction rounds just work their way down the top whatever list from top to bottom?

Can we get a link or report on how the auction went last year? I'm just looking for some sort of indication of what bids win the various player tiers.

Jomar should quit imo.
maybe after I go 10 for 10 making the playoffs, I will do just that.  5 in a row seems too easy with this group.  Although since I am the ONLY ONE to do it, maybe not so easy?  should I be giving myself more credit?

sounds like a plan then, let's do it :hifive:

All I want to do is beat Frosty, the rest is gravy to me. PM me if you want, or I can a little closer to the time and we can figure out details
Let's start talking a bit before draft date.  Although I think that's close to now.  I think with 2 minds we are now the favorite in this thing.

I have the keys to the WISRuthRoll gmail account (CC @Sammy3469 and @Koya - I assume it's cool that I help with the bid wrangling process?).  People can start submitting Day 1 bids.  Bid schedule is as follows:

So, day one's bid group will be...

1. Karl-Anthony Towns, C

2. Anthony Davis, PF

3. Kevin Durant, SF

4. Russell Westbrook, PG

5. Giannis Antetokounmpo, SF/PF

6. DeMarcus Cousins, C

Please submit a bid with each player (if you want to bid on said player) to wisruthroll at gmail as well as a priority from 1-3 (in case you would win two players and these would take you over your budget, you would be awarded the higher priority player).

Happy Bidding!!!

That's fine, though I question any ranking with Cousins in the top 6, but I digress.

Please do! That's awesome. As I said, it's travel and meeting season so my time is more limited and more so inconsistent (i.e. Will be two or three day stretches that just overwhelm and others where I'm chilin and accessible).

Sounds like you have things ready to go... ITS BIDDING TIME (assuming the final 24 has been finalised)

That's fine, though I question any ranking with Cousins in the top 6, but I digress.
It's an interesting first day - as it could an even more interesting second day.

For the newbies, while there's obviously a correlation between fantasy success and sim, they certainly aren't one and the same... just as neither mirror real life 100%. Comes down to putting a team together that "works"

Did we finalize the 24th? Co Owners or one team?

I'll then put it in the OP
@modogg and @Niles Standish are going to co-own.
