Kev> Do the Nugs have the money for Chandler after Nene and Afflalo signings? Or are you assuming 1 year deal?
They are very close to the cap after Nene and Afflalo, but the only moves they made this offseason were either minimum salary (Carroll), Rookie signings (Faried and Hamilton), their own free agents (Afflalo and Nene) and the Brewer/Fernandez trade using part of the trade exception from the Melo deal last season. Because of that, they were able to keep Bird Rights on Martin and Smith and extended the qualifying offer to Chandler so they could still offer all three of them max contracts if the so chose. I'm not sure how much the Nuggets are willing to spend this season, but I would imagine as long as they stay under the luxury tax line the ownership (Stan Kronke and Baby Kronke) won't make a fuss. I would assume that would allow them to give Chandler a fair market deal (4/25-30ish) and hopefully give Martin something like 2/10.ETA: Using 7.5% raises each year Afflalo's salary this year should be right about $7.4m and Nene's should be right around $11.5m, so the Nuggets have about $56m in committed salary (assuming they keep Carroll's $750k salary) . That would leave them about $14m, I think, to spend on Chandler/Martin/Smith when they can come back. With the 4/30 and 2/10 contracts I proposed they would only hit about $68m.
