*NBA THREAD* Abe will be missed (7 Viewers)

Attending my first NBA game tonight. Kings @ Cavs.
Nice, you live here or visiting? Enjoy!
Here 2 weeks for work.
Sweet....LOTS of good eats down there (E. 3rd, W. 6th, etc) and in Ohio City (very close to downtown and I highly recommend heading over there, just don't drift too far away from the West Side Market area lol). I'll be down at the HOB tomorrow night...maybe the casino then.

Streak in jeopardy tonight for Hawks - tough Blazers team and Carroll is missing and Seph just went out injured. Hopefully neither is bad.
18 in a row! Man, what a great game. Fantastic crowd tonight. I hope to not see Aldridge until next year, dude was unreal all night.

Feels like a pretty low scoring game. What's up with my man Wade sitting there all dolled up on the bench????

Putting off surgery to play hurt. Team with one of the best records in the NBA. And yet, he's an all star reserve. Weird wild stuff. Hawks are awesome. How long before the move to Seattle?

:goodposting: What a ####### blunder that was by the front office.

DeMarcus Cousins hit just 5-of-17 shots (11-of-12 FTs) for 21 points, 13 rebounds, four assists, five steals and one block in Friday's embarrassing but now typical loss to the Cavs.
The move to fire Mike Malone is proving to be one of the worst front office decisions we've seen of the last five years or so as the entire team has thrown in the towel. Owners should only pay attention to their Big Three for now, but realize that things could go south for any number of reasons down the stretch. Rudy Gay added 20 points on 6-of-16 shooting (no threes, 8-of-8 FTs) with nine rebounds and one steal, and Darren Collison had 11 points on 5-of-12 shooting with one three, two boards, four assists and a block in the loss.
Related: Rudy Gay, Darren Collison

Hassan has 14 rebounds in the 1st 8 minutes of the game vs Dallas. Heat record for most boards in a quarter.
Finished with 24 rebounds and 16 points on 7/11. Only one block - teams aren't challenging the rim in the last 2 games. He's the only reason to watch the Heat, now that Wade could miss significant time with a hamstring injury. He's putting up Shaq-like numbers. Too bad he wasn't here last year to help Lebron. If he keeps it up, he'll be costly in 2016.

Somebody should let Scotty know it's not against the rules to have either Durant or Westbrook out there at all times. Guy is so out of his league.

Really no reason not to get rid of him right now. It's officially panic time. Can't get any worse. Surely one of the assistants has more sense and would do a better job of managing the lineup.

a nice win for the bucks tonight brandon knight looked really good i reiterate that i was wrong about jason kidd his guys play tough good for him the old swcer eats crow when he has it coming take that to the bank bromigos

He led the Heat to victory against the lowly Celtics with his offense, including some jumpers. He was 10-17 from the field, with 9 rebounds and 3 blocks in 30 min. His PER is 27.9, number 2 in the league. His defense is for real - his offense has been a big surprise.

Why is Jimmy Butler the "most improved player" candidate in the sports press but Whiteside and Donuts aren't getting any love?

great point by sammy if lebron is still there this might never have happened butterly affect and stuff and i think that wade being out is a good thing for whiteside he will get to shoulder a bigger load and become more comfortable that is probably a good thing for them down thestretch and in the playoffs take that to the bank bromigos

Whiteside has been relevant for about 6 games this year.

Donuts has gone from completely irrelevant to only slightly irrelevant. Not exactly a prime candidate.

The jump from 13PPG to 20PPG is a whole helluva lot tougher than the one from 5PPG to 11PPG like Donuts.

Klay Thompson should also be in the discussion, but I'm guessing too many people he was actually this good last year.

Klay's waaaaay better than last year. This year he's actually able to get into the lane some off the dribble and his passing is much improved.

It's funny but after Barnes' rookie season, I thought Harrison had a better future than Klay. However, Klay has worked so hard and each year he's added something new. he came into the league as a jump shooter. Sophomore season he became a better defender, but sucked at finishing and made horrible decisions with the ball. Last year he got rid of "Klay-ups" becoming a decent finisher, worked on his post game, and became a lock down defender. This year he's been able to get to the rim and pass fairly well.

It's been a pleasure to watch Klay improve. Barnes is showing improvement this year, but I don't know if he'll ever be able to touch Klay now. Even if Barnes improves everything else, his shooting will always be behind Klay's.

Adam Silver says expanding All-Star rosters will be on the agenda for offseason discussions with the Players Association. Says he's open to expanding the rosters to 13, 14, or 15 per conference. Said the league has grown from 18 to 30 teams since the merger but the All-Star rosters have stayed at 12, so expansion of All-Star rosters would be a reflection of the league's growth over the years.

Has to be negotiated with the PA since All-Star appearances affect player bonuses and salaries.

Playing time during the All-Star Game is a minor concern, but wants to ensure everyone named to the team gets to play in the game.

Butler is the current leader, but don't discount Whiteside. He's gotten better with more playing time. Bosh has been playing like crap recently, and Wade might miss significant time. Whiteside may get a chance to carry the team to the playoffs. Hassanity continues.

He has played well for a handful of games. Let's not get carried away.

hey triple a i just heard the bucks were the last team to beat the hawks before there winning streak that is a moral victory right there brohans take that to the bank

also nice win for the very shorthanded bucks in canadia tonight they are four over five hondo so they are due to lose four iin a row now brohans

All top 3 teams in the East lose last night.

And, wasn't it a 19 game win streak the Hawks had?
It was.

And the Wiz are top 3 in the East only in the standings, and only for the moment. Their inefficient offensive game plan is catching up with them big time. They got by on defensive effort and the greatness of John Wall for a while, but they're now sub-.500 since starting the season 19-6. Not good. Maybe they bounce back after the ASB, maybe someone finally pulls Randy Wittman aside and explains to him that you get an extra point if you shoot it from outside that arc on the court. But for now it looks more like a four team race.

DJ Augustin follows up his 28 and 12 against the Rockets with 25 and 13 against the Heat. Pistons win both games by double digits.

Maybe it's the system more than it was Brandon Jennings.

I think it is Stan Van Gundy. I was doing some research on him and seen he made Jameer Nelson an all-star. His system makes point guards really good.

I am sure many of you listen to the Lowe Post. Make sure and try the Short Corner with Paul Shirley and justin halpron. It's awesome. Part comedy, part basketball.

Sixers up 10 going for win 11. Denver's not a good team.
I think Shaw is going to be fired soon, the team has quit on him. I think he was brought in with the idea that he was a players coach that could teach this team some D but he has been the opposite of what he was advertised. The defense has taken a giant #### since he's taken over and he is anything but a player's coach. There was talk on the radio yesterday, prior to the Sixers game, that the players are purposely throwing games to either make a point or to get Shaw fired. They are a very immature team with a coach that has brought out the worst of that.

Cleveland's only 2 games in the loss column out of 3rd place (already up to 3rd in point differential). Somehow I don't think that Chicago-Cleveland nightmare first round matchup is going to occur.
