Back when I was a bachelor, we had a neighbor that did something similar every weekend.  It wouldn't have been a big deal, except for the fact that we had several of us renting a mansion, and needed the space along the street.  We had brought it up once, and he didn't seem to care.  So we intentionally sandwiched his car to where he couldn't get out all weekend.  He never did it again.

At this point, his wife intervenes, and we agree that they will keep it in the same spot for the night, but that going forward he will park in front of his own house.
Isn't this solved?

Well actions speak louder than words, merely providing confirmation that he did what his wife said he was going to do., as the offending party mostly stood slack jawed during our conversation.

Park in front of his house.

My new neighbors across the street did this.   They have plenty of room to fit 2 cars in their driveway but only park one. He started parking in front of my house.

So I just started parking in front of his.   Even after I asked to him not too because my son usually parks there plus i have a bball hoop (that the neighbors use)

This is the only thing that has gotten under my skin with really no rationale.

ETA:  He is a complete moron ftr.   I bet he's some type of engineer....
Hearing stuff like this is why I'm happy I have an HOA. They've never been a pain in my ###, and I don't need to bother with this stuff.

One caveat: for some reason the cop down the street gets a pass to keep his big ### boat in front of his house. That kinda irks me.

Why not park your cars in front of your house before he returns Sunday night?
So I should have scheduled my Sunday life around when/if this monstrosity is going to show up? Sometimes it showed at noon, other times at 8PM, sometimes on Monday when it was Memorial / Labor day.

This drives me nuts.  It's not hard to clean up after your own stupid mutt.  At.  All.  I do it, all I ask is that my redneck neighbors respond in kind.

Heard/saw one of my non-redneck neighbors go nuclear two days ago on one of the perps about this.  She landscapes a lot of the people's yards in this development and had been running over bombs on the reg for over a month.  She lucked in to catching the culprit in the act of ####ting on her yard and unloaded on them.  Response: "Oh, I didn't know I was supposed to pick up after it."  She practically stripped this chick's skin from her back with the diatribe(was in my backyard and could hear it a block away).  Girl was apologetic, "No, I don't know what its like to have a lawnmower in my garage that smells like #### all the time, I'm sure that's awful", etc, etc.  Saw her yesterday walking the dog, bag in hand.  Thought "Okay, maybe she's been straightened out.  Good for her."  Later that night my dog decides to spontaneously roll onto his back on our way back in from his last whizz of the night.  Me: "That's odd.  He doesn't do that very oft----oh, Jesus is that dog####?!"  Spoiler:  It was dog ####. In my front yard.

Saw another two bombs when I walked our dog again tonight, including on the property line of the landscaper lady's yard.  Some people are just completely, willfully ignorant/#####.  I'm thinking of harvesting every briquette'd turd I find this week and placing it on top of their mailbox.
The family across the street had a little pug or some #### and he'd walk his dog over to #### in my hard. Watched him do it repeatedly.

Got to the point I'd intentionally open the garage door via remote whenever I'd see him walk over and start.. he'd drag the dog mid-#### scampering back toward his house... but still didn't stop.

So I started relocating any found turds into his mailbox or lobbing them over his fence into his pool (usually when had folks over and we had been drinking). After about 3-4 instances of that we longer found turds in our yard. They moved about a year later.

At my old house, my neighbor used to park his RV in front of our house at times.

The thing would show up on Wed afternoon so he could prep it for whatever weekend adventure he was going on. He'd leave Friday morning then show back up Sunday night, leaving it there until Monday when he was done cleaning it out.

Why would he park it in front of my house? Because he worked the city into getting handicap parking signs in front of his house for his wife, who was quite capable of walking wherever, but the amount of cars that parked on our street was ridiculous, so he wanted to make sure he saved a spot. Since the RV didn't have any handicap tags on it, he couldn't park it in front of his place because they'd ticket it.

You said Sunday night  :P

Sidetrack,  Ned do you ever get crap from this place?  There are a lot of League fans here and your avatar has a reference...  Just saying...

See original post.  For some reason, they park their rental cars on the street.  The last time they had a rental car, they parked in front of my house for two weeks straight while leaving the front of their house unoccupied.
Is this a city thing that they consistently have rental cars ? Do they own their own car ?

They own two cars, so normally this isn't an issue.  This is the second time this happened (the first time was for two solid weeks), and it was eating at me the first time, but I held my tongue. When I saw him purposefully pulling in front of my house in front of my eyes when the front of his house was empty, I could resist no longer.

My neighbor has a one-car wide driveway, and also has a garage full of stuff.  He has a pickup, an SUV, an old Nova that has been parked on a trailer since I can remember and a Freightliner.  Now his kid is driving, so there is one more car.  He always has an assortment of vehicles parked along the street.  Sometimes parked on my side.  The only time it has really bothered me was when he parks his semi with trailer attached.  All I hear is the giant diesel engine running and it makes for a pretty lousy view.

Would've like to hear the other side of the story on this one, just to see if the guy is clueless or was trying to make a point. "That young whipper-snapper has a 2-car garage and a 2-car driveway that, in total, holds 1 F'n car!" So he's the only guy cluttering up our street. I'm gonna start parkin in front of his house!"

What's with all your neighbors who walk into your yard and let their dog #### and not clean it up??  This isn't even acceptable if they DO clean it up.  Why are they walking their dog on your lawn?  Why are they on your lawn at all?

I say legalize shooting people who do that.

Its not your street. It IS your garage and it IS your driveway.

Not saying what he did is right, but the fact that you have two giant cars, a garage full of crap and cant figure out the geometry of getting 2 cars in and out of a driveway isn't his fault either.

There's probably no good reason for him to park there, but its a non-issue if you yourself use some common sense.

In my neighborhood ... humans walk on the sidewalk, dog walks on the grass -- either in the front yard on the other side, the strip of grass between sidewalk and street (the "berm" as we call it). If the dog stops to poop in someone's front yard, you clean it up and move on. Most dogs aren't going to poop on the sidewalk.

If he blocks the walk that leads to the street in front of your house, its worth mentioning.  Otherwise, I think this is just city-livin.  I do agree, if he's consistently parking directly in front of your house when its open in front of his, I'd be annoyed. We have opposite-side parking restrictions, and one of my neighbors parks in front of his house on even days and across the street in front of mine (usually) on odd days.  He never blocks my walkway, or I'd mention it to him.

Admittedly, he's being punished for my crap and narrow driveway, which is my problem, not his problem.

That said, I just want to know why he wouldn't park in front of his own house.  I was overly aggressive, but arguably more curious than anything else, as the difference between parking in front of his house as compared to my house is a total of an additional ten steps.

Based on your avatar, I presume you are a Seinfeld watcher.  I feel like Jerry with the girl who always had on the same dress.  I DON'T WANT TO EVEN DATE YOU ANYMORE, I JUST WANT TO KNOW WHAT THE DEAL IS WITH YOUR DRESS!?!?

Easy fix...mive your mail box to the most optimum position. You can't park in front of a mail box. If you need the space occasionally, make it somewhat removable for brief periods. Easy.....done. move on

Two key updates:

1) We widened our driveway so my wife and I can now both fit our cars at the same time without an issue.

2) Crotchety neighbor recently died.  We have spoken with his wife, who has said that apparently he was a total d-bag all the time (some of the stories she told us are crazy) and that he parked in front of my house to piss me off, because he could.  I KNEW IT!!!  Vindication is mine!

(FWIW the widow seems much, much happier and more friendly after her husband's passing.)

Just moved into a new house where my neighbor was parking his work van in front of my house every single day for weeks. The house was vacant for months before we bought it. However, he recently stopped doing it not too long after we moved in and has been leaving "our" spot open. Thought that was nice of him.

How about cleaning all the crap out of your garage and park your vehicles there?

We literally could not fit an SUV and a second car in the garage.  We could fit one, but would have to keep one car in the driveway regardless, so we just use the garage to store bicycles, sports stuff, etc.  Works for us.

Just kidding bro...I know stuff adds up.

The only issue I have in front of my house is that my next door neighbor's friend/brother will park right on the entrance point of my driveway. By law there should be 4 feet between a car and the end of the driveway. But, he parks right on the spot at 0 feet away. It doesn't happen as often as it used to because he moved away but it amazes me that someone can be so rude/dumb.

congrats on your victory!!!

Had a neighbor that did this, but the funny thing was he was always getting flat tires.  Old screws, nails, all sorts of things seem to be attracted to  his tires.  One time the two tires closest to my house went completely flat.  We theorized the local kids from the other street must have done it.  Wierd thing was they never got after my car or truck when I parked there.  I told him I thought his car might be safer in his driveway where he could keep a better eye on it.  Maybe even buy some security cameras for the house.  Someone might have a grudge against him.  After he parked in his driveway nothing happened to his car again.  I got to use the space again.  Some said it was Karma.  But I have a saying "Karma was a woman I dated in college, this just seems to be an instance of dumb luck, on my part".

Stuff like this is encouraging to hear. Proves not every neighbor is a jerk.

Never doubt your instincts on this sort of thing.

My street parking nemesis moved.

My wife (jokingly) asked if I was comfortable in the knowledge that by calling him out for his crap that I was torturing an old man, and that I helped put him in the ground.

I'm comfortable with my decision.
Sounds like he was enjoying it.  Probably kept him alive for a while longer.
